First: I did a brief search and couldn't find anything I liked, so I'm sorry if this has been posted before.

Can anyone recommend any animes that I could watch? I'm usually into medieval/supernatural/just plain awesome shows, but my sources has been running dry lately. If you guys could present your favorite animes and tell me why they are awesome I would be deeply grateful.

Shows I've enjoyed in the past: Naruto (Flame all you want, it has it's moments) Full metal Panic, Elfen Lied, One piece etc. As you can see I'm a noob who needs to widen my horizon, so feel free to post even if you take it for granted that I've heard about it.

Hey there! Here is a post i just copy pasted from another thread.

My top 3 anime

1. Trigun
2. Cowboybebop
3. Samuri Champloo

I suggest taking a look at Record of Lodoss War. It is an oldy but a goody in my opinion. I believe there is a review here on the escapist.

Also take a look at the Tower of Druaga series. Its pretty decent and relatively short as well. 12ish episodes for each of the 2 halves of the series. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tower_of_Druaga_%28anime%29 )

Just plain awesome would definitely describe the show Gurren Lagann.
A good medieval like show with insane action is Berserk. If you liked the shock factor and intense gore from Elfen Lied than Gantz is more of that with a creepier story and more blood and good supernatural elements.

The Slayers is a passable medieval-set anime with some humor. Not exactly my favorite, but you might like it.

Great Teacher Onizuka is a classic (it even spawned a really good live version of it.)
A personally don't like it, but if you like Naruto and One Piece, Bleach is the third of this trio that is uber popular now.
Beat to Death Angel Dokuro-chan is pretty funny, hell with a name like that you really can't go wrong.

Maybe something like "Fairy Tail"?
I have been watching that a little, but I tend to take off when I first start, and I can't keep track of all shows and when they air.

I second the Gurren Lagann. Try Kannagi for the laughs, Needless for the awesome as well as s-CRY-ed. get into some romance stuff, laughs and good stories usually. Shakugan no Shana, Kaze no Stigma, things like that.

I don't watch a lot of anime but I loved Samurai Champloo, Inuyasha has its moments, and I've seen a couple episodes of Full Metal Alchemist and enjoyed that.

FLCL is always fun if you haven't seen it. Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad if you don't mind more realistic stuff about a band. Bleach is fun for mindless action. Nadesico is good for humor and action. Also, if you are into fantasy stuff, I would recommend Negima if you can get past all the fan service.
