I would have given better examples. Things such as Blackadder, Monty Python, A bit of Fry and Laurie, Red Dwarf, that sort of thing is a perfect representation of British humour.
agreed! also, robot wars, and most things regarding history.
merlin and doctor who.. not so much, those are actualy quite rubish XD.
well. maybe not the daleks for oldscool value XD

As big of a Dr. Who fan as I am, I've never watch 'Torchwood' or 'The Sarah Jane Chronicles'.

I don't know why, I've just never gotten around to it.

I'm currently watching the original series from Season 1 to the 2005 revival.
There's a LOT of messed up stuff, quality wise, but I've read that's because most of the originals were either destroyed or not kept in the best of places.

Shame really.

If you want to watch any Dr Who, including the originals just check this out: http://www.doctorwho-episodes.com/

It's legit, I've used it heaps.

I've got a source myself, but if the quality is better I may start using that site.
Thanks for the link.

Spooks!

Ive been working my way through the box sets, im on series 5 ATM. Its great the way it doesnt try to paint its characters as 'the good guys.' Its so murky, morally ambiguous and clever that I just cant stop watching it. (although there has been one or two dodgy cliffhangers...)

I have a lot of love for the BBC :)

Australian here

Doctor Who, Monty Python, Red Dwarf, Torchwood(makes me want to watch Doctor Who more), Black Books, Faulty Towers. To name some.

I would say that Doctor Who is my favorite show.

It must be nice to get BBC America. It sounds like 'the best of all four BBC channels without all the crappy soaps, breakfast shows, local news, cooking shows, politics shows, and any show about history that isn't narrated by Stephen Fry.' I wish I could get that channel.

I like Louis Theroux's documentaries. Other then that... I have limited experience with the BBC, but it seems like a solid affiliation.

Doctor Who is the best show of all time, ever. Merlin was alright, I mostly ust enjoy seeing peoples reactions when they realize he is a user of magic :)
