Im British, so we don't get the fancy handguns or the fully automatic shizzle the American shave. However I do sport a very nice collection of shotguns consisting of:

4 Side-By-Side 12 bore (gauge to the Americans)
2 Over-And-Under 20 bore
2 Single Barrel 410 bore.

I only have one gun at the moment. A Remington 7615, a pump action rifle chambered in 5.56mm.
I have a red dot site mounted and a sling attached. I plan on getting a rail with a torch mounted on the slide and I'm wondering if it'd be worth it getting the barrel shortened by a couple inches.

It's not as if there are stories of tragic deaths and violent shootouts coming from the states every five minutes.
Umm....we haven't outlawed guns. We've restricted, required licensing and outright banned some stuff. But we still (can) have guns. I have a gun, my family has guns, my friend and his family have guns, my neighbour etc. There's some like 800,000 registered firearms owners in this nation. That's roughly 1 in 25 people.

Nope, and the sheer fetish some people have for them is quite disturbing, frankly.

Besides, real men fight with fisticuffs.

Not yet. Living on an Army post makes it hard as sin to own weapons.

I'll be out soon enough, and then first line of business is... well, getting a job. Then its weapons! M1911, here I come!

I don't own a gun, but my grandfather did as he liked hunting and he had hunting rifles locked in a cabinet so his kids couldn't get to them, he had a gun license and all the correct paperwork, but he was fed up of the police knocking on the door every week to make sure he didn't murder anyone so he got rid of them as it wasn't worth keeping them due to the gun control laws in Britain.

i dont own a gun, but if/when i have the resources to get one and train with it, i will definitely consider it.

that said, it sounds funny to me when people get snooty or act superior for living in a "gun free" area or country. take an outsiders logical look at the situation. making gun ownership illegal means that outside of law enforcement, only those that break the law (and possibly the very wealthy that can hide or afford the fines/penalties) will have a gun o_O

this raises a logical red flag in my mind along with a myriad of questions, but heres just two off somwhere near the top:
so if i was a criminal, where would i rather ply my trade?
how does ensuring that law abiding citizens dont have access to the same thing that criminals have make you feel superior?

it simply seems illogical on its face, to me.

My parents do, but I think they're unnecessary. I don't hunt because I find it despicable, and I really don't need anything for self defense because nothing's ever happened. If I came to power though, I'd keep them legal. Most gun owners are responsible people (like Baby Tea up there). I don't believe gun owners defend their weapons so radically because it's their right as Americans, for self defense, or for sport, though, I think the vast majority defend them so much is because they love them and they make them feel empowered. (again, Baby Tea is a good example)

Technically I do. My buddy's dad is keeping it for me until I get my license. WW2-era Mosin-Nagant sniper, much like the one in the picture.

And I plan to buy an Accuracy International AX338 at some point as well.

I have a .22 :R rifle 15-round tube-fed carbine thingy with more jams than shots on it, a .410 bore with about as much kick as the .22, and a .357 Colt Python that I would make love to if this was possible. I just love that I can buy the far cheaper .38 ammunition and I only sacrifice stopping power. And I don't give a darn because the paper targets aren't much of a threat at that range. I mean sure, I've gotten some nasty paper cuts, and one even got infected, but that's the extent of their danger.

A number of shotguns and rifles, a .357 Magnum, two Colt SSA revolvers, a Glock 19, a Smith and Wesson 9mm, two crossbows, one full size, the other pistol style, a non firing FN P90, and a scale replica of an RPG-7.

Every single one of which I inherited from a dead relative.

Yes I do indeed,
1. Mosin Nagant M44 Carbine
2. Yugoslavian SKS
3. .22 Revolver
4. M1 Garand
5. 2 M1 carbines
6. 12 gauge shotgun
7. 20 gauge shotgun
.45 Colt Pistol
IMO I Love guns very much, they are a very interesting and historical hobby to be into and I cannot get enough of them. From the shooting to the restoring to the hard work they always give me joy to own. The only thing I hate about them is the ignorance that people give them, I dont really care if they are not your thing but do not try to make everyone who enjoys them have to give them up or try to make it that much harder to enjoy the hobby and sport. I am curious also so maybe someone can answer me here but why does everyone call rifles "assault weapons" or "assault rifles" and why does everyone assume that Americans are running around with fully automatic rifles? It is illegal in America to own a fully automatic firearm, an assault rifle by definition is a firearm that uses an intermdediate round with a selective rate of fire (aka full auto or single shot)just because many civilians in the US have M16's or AK's does not mean they are fully automatic or are "assault weapons" they are all single shot guns making them as lethal as any hunting rifle and not machines of death!!

I own a remington semi-auto .22 LR, a .410 single action shotgun, and a Glock 36 (a CC pistol, even though I don't have a license to do so, I got the gun at an extremely good price from my brother).

.357 Magnum Revolver and M1 Garand...Both were my grandfathers and he gave them to my dad and me before he passed away...

The .357 currently rests underneath my parents bed (Just in case) and the M1 Garand hangs on the wall in my room...Right next to my dad's extensive collection of military knives...

Yes. I own guns and swords aplenty, and am known as "the crazy, armed vet" to most of my neighbors.

-my usual setup when going shooting

-my carry weapon (For places where I don't care if people know I'm carrying "concealed". I have a smaller one for actual concealment, pictured above)

-my least practical, but prettiest, rifle.

-not exactly what it looks like, but still more accuracy and stopping power than your average Kalashnikov.

-and the view down that scope

-really need to paint that wall...

-real differential tempering, and made of high-speed tool steel.

Unfortunatly not yet, my dad has a 12 ga. side-by-side that I hope to get one day (once I get my licence, & get it fixed). Im also trying to convince my aunt to sell me her pump action .22 rifle.

Nice shotgun, is your rifle an actual Dragonov or a civilian copy?
