Alright basically me and my girlfriend have both been really interested in playing Journey, but I would like some opinions about it from others. Is it really just an "artsy" game with no actual content or does have some more meaning to it? From what I've seen it actually seems like a pretty deep game but that could just be a game critic's response to it. Also does it have couch co-op? If possible we'd like to play the game together. Is it worth it's cost? Thanks for any help!

Get it, definitely get it. It's awesome, just amazing. The traveling, the atmosphere, the landscapes, the non-talking cooperation in the game just makes for a great experience. I wouldn't say it's just an "artsy" game, sure there's a lot of thought put into the game, but the beauty of the game is the emotions it provokes. It's not really describeable either, but I urge you to check it out. It's not really expensive, but it's well worth the money.

It doesn't have couch co-op, but there's online co-op, though not in the traditional sense, since the game randomly assign you whoever you'll be playing with. Meeting a stranger and working towards a greater goal really adds to the overall game.

How is this guy so damn famous! I'm jealous :/

OT : great .... Experience . Wouldn't really call it a "game" . Although it's more of a game than "Dear Esther". Anyways , it's not expensive , it's not long , it's a good experience , if you are into artsy games

I know saying this might get me verbally beaten by the community but...don't buy Journey

Wait Daystar, lurking in the shadows! DON'T KILL ME YET!!! LET ME EXPLAIN!

If you're at all interested in this, the Journey Collector's Edition is being released as a physical game this August (I believe the 28th, but I could be mistaken) this game comes packaged with Journey, Flower and Fl0w for only 30 bucks. Now I think it is marginally cheaper to buy all three of those games separately (like by maybe 2 bucks or so...) the CE comes with developer commentary on all 3 titles, soundtracks, 3 additional mini-games made by the developer, and a small documentary behind the crew.

I suppose if you're only interested in Journey, I would certainly say go ahead and pick it up.

But I just thought I'd let you know about the collector's edition before you make a decision on this issue.

Journey is worth getting. I wish I could say more but Journey is a hard game to explain without giving away some of the real great moments that you should really experience for yourself.

The difficulty curve is low but there is a lot of nuance.

I loved it, but it's not for everybody. Get the demo off of the PSN first and see what you think. Hi Daystar.

It's a game that you kinda have to meet halfway like Shadow of the Colossus. If you are able to do this and accept that the gameplay is not about skill and achievement, you should be able to enjoy it.

In my opinion Journey is a perfect game in what it tries to accomplish. It also has the best score of any game I've played in years.

Apotheosis is fucking masterful indeed!

I don't know how many musical pieces exist that try to convey the feeling of ascending on to heaven, but Christ, if this one doesn't do it the best.

Yeah, that opening as you leap towards the heavens is just brilliant.

Fucking love this game.

It's good.

It just wasn't the "OMG THIS GAME IS AN EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER" experience I was expecting.

Journey was a great game. I'll admit, it's a little short. You can get through the game within 2 hours.

Thankfully, it has plenty of replay value in the form of hidden collectibles, easter eggs, and of course the various kinds of people you can play with.

It's definitely worth getting.

Although I have heard there was going to be a special edition that includes the game, and the other two games That Game Company made for $30. So if you want to get your money's worth, it may be a good idea to wait until that comes out.

It's your choice though.

Journey is a fantastic, albeit very short, experience. It has no couch co-op, only online. If you're on the fence about getting it, I say go for it. It is without doubt one of the finest downloadable games yet released.

. I agree completely. I wasn't 'disappointed' with Jouney, I think I just expected a little more. In the end I think I may actually prefer Flower, it was just such an awesome little surprise when it came out. Limbo was too.

It's the best way to find friends on PSN. The game makes you connect to people and interact regardless of who they are. It breaks the language barrier. :)

In my experience, Journey was really emotional, poignant, nuanced, buzzword, buzzword, buzzword, for one playthrough. I saw my gal play it at intermittent times, then I played it, had ALL of the emotions (teared up near the end) but now I have no desire to run through it again.

It's honestly...You gotta really want something different, and you gotta see the value in its brand of multiplayer to justify the purchase. I say wait for that Special Edition to come out, that way you get Flower and flOw for some added value.

It's not 'deep' in terms of having a complex, philosophical storyline, but it is deep in terms of doing a hell of a lot with relatively minimalistic content. And certainly it leaves you feeling extremely fulfilled afterwards. I would definitely recommend it; even if you get nothing out of it emotionally, it is extremely pretty to look at.
