8 hours is enough to review Portal, not a game of any actual size. And it's definately not enough to review a serious sandbox game. Specifically, no one should review a game they haven't finished (and played fairly thoroughly) unless there's a damn good reason not to finish it. Unless you support rushed and inaccurate reviews, that is...

Hey asshole, that's my review. Sorry I didn't get caught up in the hype train and expected it to be the best game ever. After a boring summer, it was nice to have a hack'n'slash game.

Truly, though I did enjoy going berserker and pinballing the weaker goblins.

8 hours is more than enough for a reviewer to learn the gameplay, get the basic feel of the levels and story.

If you want to comeplete everything and see all the endings/cutscenes/stuff it will probably take more than 8 to 10 hours.
