Some Zelda games have been good.
Link to the past, Wind waker, OFT, however yes something new please.
sure keep hearts hell keep all the items if you want.
but please oh please nintendo, a new bad guy thats NOT gannon/dorf/Vatti would be good.
and maybe a *giggles* new main char *everyone screams and some fanboys die* I personly am bored of playing a 14-18 year old boy dressed in green who can only say "HA YA HAAAAA!"
thats another point VOICE ACTING nintendo...you can move on at some point. o_O

Things like the Zelda Formula can be applied to other series of games.

Call Of Duty: All you do its pick up a gun and shoot people, you always use machine guns and shotguns and rifles.

Command and Conquer: All you do is make people shoot at other people. You always use harvesters, infantry and construction yards.

Halo: All you do is shoot aliens. You always use guns.

People who are saying that its getting old, Probably didn't play it.

However. The wolf levels in TP was just silly.

Sillier then being a pink rabbit.

I like the Legend of Zelda series. But you can probably tell that from my avatar

You know, I was sick of the formula after Majora's Mask. I tolerated it through Wind Waker because of the art style that the game held.

I got sick of Twilight Princess in that I got maybe halfway through the game, got bored and quit playing it.
I'm sick of playing Ocarina of Time every time I put in a new Zelda.
Now, I loved OoT in that THAT was an innovative title. Nintendo seems to have just grown lazy, "oh fuck don't change the gameplay-- you can change into a wolf though. That's innovative"
The wolf thing perhaps slightly changed the gameplay, but not the core gameplay that's not changed since OoT.

I will always hate Nintendo, maybe not their Mario series, but otherwise, I hate Nintendo.

I got tired of the Zelda formula about two hours into The Phantom Hourglass. I've played Zelda 1 & 2, Link's Awakening, Oracle of Ages, beat A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time multiple times and stopped playing Majora's mask three hours after buying it because I hated the whole "timelimit" concept. Also, I skipped over Twilight Princess because I don't own a Wii and have no intention of getting one. I enjoyed Wind Waker though.

Yes. That's why I truly believe Majora's Mask makes Ocarina of Time look like nothing more than a tech demo. It was an original story with an epic ending.

Why does it need to? Ignoring the fact that Nintendo have promised an all new formula for the next console Zelda anyway, the formula is pretty much perfect. The gameplay is similar, yes, but it never stops being fun. Do you want to stop having fun? No? Thought not.

Thematically, however, the games could not be more different. If you're telling me that TP was similar to Wind Waker, or Wind Waker was similar to Majora's Mask, or even Majora's Mask was similar to Ocarina, then you officially have no idea what you're talking about. I'm serious. But then, that's what you get in the cynical internet wastes, critically revered titles get shot at for piss-weak reasons so people can show they have an 'edge'.

The story of Zelda has always been less important to me than the puzzle solving and the great boss fights. But even the puzzle solving is going stale. They need to put in more new and useful items (not like that rod thing in TP which was merely annoying) to revive the game.
