It seems anymore when anyone plays on any gaming system. Whether it's Console or PC. There is always a kid playing. For example, everytime I get on Team Fortress 2 it seems we're over runned by midgets! Or When you're playing Modern Warfare and a midget has to come on and talk the whole game. There should be a age limit on when someone could use a mic. Anyone under 16.. Should not be able to talk over mic. Skype and Vent should be enough. Than again this is all my opinion, what's yours?

Well, according to the rules someone under 16 shouldn't be playing a game like TF2 or Modern Warfare anyway so a rule against them using mics would be a little bit pointless :p. Also, age =/= maturity, there's quite a few adults I've played with that deserve a mic FAR less then some of the kids I've played with.

My opinion is that it is unfair to treat said children in any negative way just based on what they sound like.

If they are annoying and/or a complete dumbass, then it's fair game, but just because they have a high pitched voice is not enough grounds to be a dick. Which I have seen quite a bit of in my days.

Under 16? I don't wanna wait until the end of the month to use my broken mic!
Although, there are a lot of annoying people online. That's why there is a mute button!

I'm under 16 and I'm not a dick with the mic. I swear when I get killed, but it's a habit I'm trying to stop.

Every time I play a game online I usually end up dying more than once because I'm in the menu trying to mute the annoying shits. I absolutely love my son, but any other child annoys the crap outta me.

A blanket ban based on age is only going to marginalize a lot of people for the benefit of a few. Instead of looking to the system to take care of you, take care of yourself: use your mute button.

Not a fan of playing with 'em.....just how I feel. It is like going out on a saturday night with a bunch of friends and then a bunch of young kids show up whooping and yelling and such....sort of dampens the environment. Would rather just be older peeps.

My pref.

You know, you do have a mute button...
Annoying noises, little kids, sore losers, they all get the mute...
Problems solved!
Well, on MW2 anyway...

I'm Under 16, and I never use my mic. Mostly not because I'm annoying. So I won't be a hypocrite! I'm always being mean to kids even though i shouldn't be, not all are the same, But most children.. are on the same boat..

Either I'm lucky or you're all lying because I've never had annoying whiney 12-year-olds on my teamspeak. Or it's just consoles that get it.

But ya, they do get kind of obnoxious sometimes, especially when they are trying to blend in with everyone else, and they really aren't fitting into the in-game conversation atm. Most of the time i just block their mic as soon as it gets bad.

Sure little kids playing games are annoying...but instead of putting a restriction on them use the glorious invention known as Mute.

It would be to hard to implement this, people can lie far to easily.

Also, I don't find that age is a factor, individual marutity is what matters.

Well, for me there's a simple solution to this conundrum:

Don't play games online with people you don't know.
[sub][small]When do I get my 'Singleplayer Gamer Master Race' membership card?[/small][/sub]

...

Seeing how that's a snarky and unhelpful response I guess I'll go with:

Don't judge anyone by their voice, judge them by their maturity level.

God knows I've seen plenty of 30-somethings who scream into microphones and rant about how they're going to 'pwn' me right alongside just as many 15 year olds who while perhaps giving me a little smack are overall respectful and courteous.

...

Seriously if you dislike youths so much that their very voices bother you to no end then I'm not really sure what any of us can say that doesn't boil down to:

A) You're going to have to learn to deal with it.

-OR-

B) Yeah, I hate those damn kids also! Ban anyone under 18 from the internet!

BEGIN EDIT:

-OR-

C) Mute them.

END EDIT.

...

To finally get around to answering the question posed in the opening post:

"Young gamers with odd voices do not bother me, partially because they can not help it and I myself was once that age as well. Furthermore, the entire question is somewhat moot for me because I do not typically play games with other people anyway due to my extreme dislike of being forced to interact in real-time with people I don't know."
