Anyone else sort of sick of it? (PC and Consoles Topic)

It's equally annoying when console gamers make similar remarks about PC's. Just the other day I saw someone say that while consoles were built and tailored for gaming, PC's just had a lot of expensive stuff that happened to be able to run games and were therefore inferior. It's both sides, really.

Jumping is in like all Console shooters. I cant even name one that doesn't have a form of it. (TPS mainly don't have it but it doesn't on all platforms.)

Also many PC exclusive shooters don't have huge invertories. Plus even on Consoles their easy to handle. In Two Worlds 2 I never had a problem managing my stuff. You don't need hot keys for every little thing you do.

You don't have to click these topics. I have seen them a hundred times before, and have my own opinions on what is better and why. I don't feel that other people need to be educated on my views, and I have read enough of them to know that there is no world changing thing i never noticed that will completely change my mind on the difference between the 2 platform. Why can't people just not go on topics they don't wish to read? It's what i do.

It's a rule of computing that everything doubles every 18 months.
At 6 years of age, a console released today would be MANY orders of magnitude more powerful than a PS3.

No such thing as a modern console.

The inventory wasn't in shooters but more to RPG.
And no you don't need a hot keys for every little thing you do but if you do have the keys it's nice that you can. The controller can never had as many buttons a as keyboard and something has to be sacrificed, there are no way around this.

Personally I feel like Consoles are superior IN SOME ASPECTS while PC's have their own merits.

Console Pros:
One time purchase
Games are made to work with the level of hardware
You can Rent games

Console Cons:
Cannot compete with a top end gaming PC
Controller aiming is less accurate than a mouse

PC Pros:
Can be graphically superior in every way
Mouse Aiming
Mods

PC Cons:
Ludicrously expensive to reach top end
Constantly have to upgrade hardware
Occasionally overly complicate controls
Compatibility issues

It has nothing to do with intelligence, and everything to do with the controller. You say controls works, of course they do they have been dumb down, modern shooters don't have strafing, jumping, often can crouch rarely have more than a couple of weapon. All to fit the control scheme on a controller. I other games inventory management are a lot more annoying so a lot of game removes it. Games that uses a lot of ability often works in a weird way because the controller can't have a hot key for all of them. Don't tell me that all of this doesn't lead to a game dumbed down.

I agree with you on number of weapons and inventory management but console shooters have strafing and jumping and crouch (i assume you meant to say "often can't crouch" as otherwise that wouldn't really have fitted in). Just think of left stick as your asdw and right stick as your mouse and you can see how strafing works, as for jumping just play a game of halo and i can't think of an fps that doesn't have a crouch button.

I was actually having this talk with a youtuber lat night, foolish I know.

It was on a TB vid, TB started out by blaming all the flaws of the crysis 2 demo on consoles. One of which was deffo on the consoles shoulders, aim assist but all the other stuff was just whining "the menu's are so console-ified", "the graphics are console-ified" etc etc etc ...


It's just so annoying to listen to these guys bang on about how the console is destroying gaming, in the end I got fed up and just said "well I am glad we are causing you all these problems, maybe it will knock you off your high horse."

Personally I could care less. It doesn't bother me at all, but I just don't see the point. I play PC games, FPS primarily. I'll occasionally enjoy a game on my Xbox 360, but I suck at FPS with a controller, so I don't play those games on the console. To each his own...

Well Oblivion is one of my favourite games of all time and it takes a long time to navigate the inventory screen when on a PC, on a console I find it unbearable. My friend even got a mod that made the lists in smaller font for his PC so it showed twice as much stuff. I think that's an example of dumbing down because menus are much easier to navigate with a mouse and keyboard than with a controller. tbh, if you got mouse and keyboards for consoles I think they would be totally equal from a gameplay perspective. Obviously you can get PCs that run games on stupidly excellent graphics still but they ARE worth a lot of money, even if you make your own it still costs a shit tonne to make one that's gonna run something incredible like crysis on full spec.

IMO, this lack of customisation with consoles defeats them. I can play with a 360 controller on my PC, surely it can't be hard to play on console with a mouse and keyboard.

I did see a video one time where a guy hooked up a mouse and keyboard to his xbox and DOMINATED on CoD to the extent that people were just saying he had an aimbot.

Personally I could care less.

Also I might just add a few things to this:

PC Pros:
Can be graphically superior in every way
Mouse Aiming
Mods
Customisability (not just mods; controls, skins, etc.)
Easy text chat
Can multitask with music n shtuff
Dedicated servers
Steam
Free updates for games that count

PC Cons:
Ludicrously expensive to reach top end (You already pretty much need a computer for every day life, not much of a leap to upgrade to something that can play games well)
Constantly have to upgrade hardware (Only if you feel like being constantly superior)
Occasionally overly complicate controls (Huh? You can edit your controls to suit your needs, over-complication can't really happen)
Compatibility issues
LANing instead of spit screen for local multiplayer (can be a plus)

Saying Crysis 2 was "dumbed down" for console doesn't mean the game was lost any depth in it's story or anything like that (TBH I don't think it ever had much depth).
It's just the fact that in order to be manageable on console hardware (and many Pcs more that matter). They lessened the system requirements.

I'm not bothered by the fact this threads been done before but the thing I'm sick of the most is in each incarnation of this thread that its PC gamers that are the problem.
