My friend who I've had for as long as I can remember doesn't do alot these days, mostly sits on his ass, claims benefits and does heroin, seems like abit of a dick but I've always liked him just because we've been hanging out since we where like 5. Lately though he's been blowing me off to do heroin with his crackhead friend who lives afew thousand miles away and is probaly a bloke, 3 weeks ago I asked him if he wanted to watch the Champions League final and have a couple of bevvys or something, so that was the plan. Then on Saturday he tells me he needs to do heroin with his crackhead friend so can't watch the game with me, I just went and spoke to him today and asked if he still doesn't want to hang out and he pretty much casually told me to fuck off so he can do heroin.

It's a shame, I enjoyed hanging out with him and he only has one other real life friend, but it's down to him if he preferes crackheads to real people.

Anyone else have a similar story?

LOL you could replace heroin with WoW and crackheads with magical elves and girlfriends in that post and it would still make sense.
Fix'd
That actually made me laugh out loud.

Once I moved away from London I had to leave behind the greatest friend I ever had. We kept in contact over the phone for a while but I couldn't keep it up. -_-
We met up recently and I was too shy of her to say much but we're on pretty good terms now. ^_^
Which is cool. We still can't hang out though, which is not cool...

Haha. My closest friend went to America for an entire year, leaving me to tolerate myself for an entire miserable year.
He got back. And we're still thick as thieves.
I think this could be classed as a 'bromance'.

Sorry about all you people, by the way..People change, I guess..=/

Had to stop hanging out with one of my best friends because all he did was either want to go drink or smoke. No bueno after a week.

Only because we all left for university, although I should be seeing a few of them in a few weeks when they come up to my newly adopted city for a friend's (from the same crowd who's now at my university) birthday. We're doing the Otley Run, which anyone who lives in Leeds, or more simply anywhere in the North of England, will know all about... It's gonna be freaking epic ;D

I don't hang out with a couple of old friends because they don't want to be seen in public with my huge hairstyle. Sucks 'cos I thought they were all alright.
Now I wanna see pics of your huge hairstyle

Why not? Do you have bombs implanted in your respective skulls that will explode if you get within ten feet of eachother, or something?
These things happen.

That is just silly.
Well, we do live 140 miles away from each other, and there's that thing about me not being able to communicate properly outside the internet...

One of my mates got married to a woman who refuses to even consider liking games of any kind. I'm working my ass off to design video games. She told him it was either her with no games, or a divorce. Seems like part of the deal to save the marriage was to leave behind anything that might tempt him back to the arms of evil lady 360, and that seems to include me.

On the plus side, I got all his stuff - two decent Warhammer armies and a D&D board game I've never played. Ooh yeah.

Yeah, I have. Well, sortof.
My friend is better friends with this other girl in our group, who hates my guts for some utterly inane reason (one that she won't tell me. I think it's because I was flirting with her boyfriend, and at the time I didn't even know I was doing it -- besides, he was flirting back), and the girl that hates me turned everyone else against me.
I'm kind of not a nice person at all, so she got everyone to ostracize me. I ended up confronting them about this, and the first girl, one of my best friends, says "I'm tired of you bagging on everyone. I just can't hang out with you anymore. I'm not trying to kick you out of the group or anything, but we can't be friends."
I've only ever bagged on that other girl, who is just a heinous creature. And she couldn't kick me out of the group if she tried.
The next day, we start talking about the previous day and she tells me "No, I never said I didn't want to be your friend." Well, ya sure made it awfully clear.

I guess the moral of this story is that I hate high school. Also I can't stay on topic when posting.

friends -> bestfriends -> boyfriend and girlfriend -> nothing.
Seems to be a fairly common occurence for many of us. It really sucks because it means you lose your girlfriend and best friend a the same time. It totally messes with your head and then as soon as you think your okay, bam, your right back at the bottom of a bottle thinking about what you did wrong
