Anyone heard of DARK?

Did this game fly under the radar or did I just miss it?

From the video it makes me think of a stealth combat play through of Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. I know it won?t have anywhere near the story but still. I hope this turns out to be a good game. What are your thoughts?


Sorry PS3 people the ad only says 360 and PC.

Well I did ask my friend first and his answer was "I just saw that on Kotaku and it looked interesting". I needed to be sure it wasn't just me. Thank you for helping me feel better.

Looks... functional, but I am no fan of this one hit wonder combat and just all around the guy is simply untouchable which can't really present a challenge.

I guess it's cool for days when you want to nap more then play.

I know for the live demo video they had cheats enabled so I am hoping it is true for these videos as well. I figure that they must as the live demo we were told 2-3 bullets will kill you. So I hope that is true. The one shot one kill against humans is not a porblem for me as come on you are a vampire. If fights against other vampires/ect is also one shot I will be worried.

I've been eagerly anticipating it for a while now. Doesn't get a lot of publication but it's not totally unknown. I love me some vampire games and DARK fits in perfectly. It's coming out in just about a month so we'll see how good the game is at that point.

I'm almost interested. My one problem is it's a Kalypso Media title - and these guys rarely publish anything other than third-rate adventure games. I think they also pushed out Dungeons, which was an utter and complete snore and frustration fest.

Design-wise this game is awful. Because it looks incredibly boring. It hasn't got even a touch of style. This clearly indicates that gameplay won't be too engaging, and the storyline most possibly will be entirely uninteresting. So I'll pass.

Same problem I had. I browse the "Coming Soon" section of Steam every now and then and found out about it that way. Looked at the trailers and what have ye. Thought it seemed like a decent title. Whatever's between AAA and indie. Mid-tier? Whatever. A good bit of fun if priced reasonably. Then I looked up the studio and got worried.

I'll probably still get it, because I love me some stealth games, but I'll hold out for either a playable demo or cheap price. It does indeed look a bit bland and samey, so not willing to go full price on blind faith.

Too true, I fear this will be a Steam sale game at best but we shall see what reviews say.

I think I saw a poster of it somewhere but that's all I knew of it until now.
Based on the power videos and the trailer it looks...ok? Kinda boring though. I like stealth games, I like vampires (depending on how its done of course) but so far that's not grabbing me. I hope there is more to domination than just making enemies ignore you.

It has reminded me how much want another Bloodlines games, preferably one that's not buggy as shit and requiring several patches to get playable.

I don't want it to scream awesome. I want it to show at least one thing to catch eye. Main character looks blend, environment looks blend, I do not see ANYTHING to catch me. Just remember some awesome locations from Thief or Deus Ex!

looks pretty good, and you found it before the staff did.

Well it is xbox -359 week so they are busy.

Also the powers seem to be mostly Malkavian right? At the very least many of these powers I can relate to from VTM:B with some Dishonored blink in there for good measure.

It looks like an average game. Gameplay does not scream fun or originality to me. I'm also hoping the setting shown in that trailer isn't indicative of what the entire game will be like, as it looked like a boring office building.

Yeah, label this one a big "maybe".

I'm aware of it, but it's got a lot to prove. That said, I'm perfectly willing for it to be great, but the odds are definitely not in it's favor.

They really should not have named the game DARK. Too many things have dark in their name and it makes it pain in the ass to look them up.

Looks decent at best. The cliché title (might as well have just called it 'Hooded Vampire Bloke') and incredibly generic-looking main character aren't exactly going to help it stand out though...
