Well a few things happened on my birthday, April 15th:

Titanic sank and 1500 people lost their lives
Abraham Lincoln was pronounced dead on my birthday
It's a national holiday in North Korea since it's Kim Jon-Un's Grandfather's birthday
Oh and in the US your taxes are due by my birthday

...no wonder my uncle used to say my birthday sucked. XD

September 6th, 1991:

Leningrad has its name changed back to St. Petersburg. I had to Google that, I'm not actually a history buff. Still, pretty neat if you ask me.

It's earth day. So apparently I'm not allowed to be happy that it's my birthday, I have to turn off my lights for x-amount of hours and starve...

Let's see what Wikipedia has to say...

Scipio defeated Hannibal to end the second Punic war. That was like 200BC though, I wonder if they factored in the different calendars.

In the American Civil War, The Battle of Cedar Creek ended. Don't think I've heard of that one.

Bla-de-bla-de-bla, something about Max Planck's Law of Black-Body Emission, a cure for TB and the US blowing up some oil rigs. Not hugely fascinating.

A few years back, i was playing the first Dead Space on my birthday, and i got (one of)the hardest achievement(s) in the game
Basically, there is a turret section where you have to shoot a bunch of asteroids, to get the achievement, you have to basically ace the section, it is harder than it sounds

I was never able to get that achievement again when i switched xboxes

My birthday is in the summer and normally coincides with the release of whatever superhero blockbuster is coming out that year so I normally just eat with friends and go to the movies. This past July though I did something a bit more daring...and mature.

Peter Sutcliffe, the Yorkshire Ripper, was arrested on the day I was born.

Not sure if that counts as 'interesting' or 'creepy'.

Well, mine is the 21st of January. I don't think anything of note happened this year, but historically, there have been a some points of interest. To name a few, we've had: the foundation of the Anabaptist movement in Switzerland, the execution of Louis XVI, and the start of the production of the DeLorean DMC-12.

Also, if I remember right, the Sullivan Ordinance was passed in New York City in 1908 or '09 on that date. It would have made it illegal for women to smoke in public places, but the mayor exercised veto power, and got rid of it after a couple of weeks. There was only one woman who was fined under the ordinance, (it was something like a $5 fine), and she was arrested for refusing to pay it.

Also also, the battle of Khe Sanh (Vietnam War, if you were curious), started on that date, assuming, again, that I'm remembering right. It was one of the more heavily publicized battles of an overtly publicized war.

September 3

Richard The Lionheart became King of England
The Mamluks defeated the Mongols to end Mongol expansion
The US flag is flown for the first time in battle
The American Revolution ends with The Treaty of Paris
Frederick Douglass escapes from slavery
Malcolm Campbell becomes the first person to drive an automobile over 300 mph
France, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia declare war on Germany after the invasion of Poland
Charlie Sheen is born
Shaun White is born
Michael Clark Duncan died

Shaun White being born is the only one that happened on the day of my birth... the others are just interesting.

I was born on September 5th, the same month as my dad (September 29th), and the same corresponding day of my mom (June 5th).

As for events... I got nothing.

This just confirms my suspicions about the whole thing.

Birthday is on August 20th. Not all that much interesting happens as over time I've just become rather apathetic towards it. A normal day as any other as I've gotten older and just stopped caring about all these "special days"

Events, Births, and Deaths that stood out to me when browsing wiki:

Events:
1866 ? President Andrew Johnson formally declares the American Civil War over.
1975 ? Viking Program: NASA launches the Viking 1 planetary probe toward Mars.
1977 ? Voyager Program: NASA launches the Voyager 2 spacecraft.

Births:
1890 ? H. P. Lovecraft, American writer (d. 1937)
1935 ? Ron Paul, American physician, author, and politician
1970 ? John D. Carmack, American game programmer, co-founded Id Software

Deaths:
1984 ? Pope John XIV
1823 ? Pope Pius VII (b. 1740)
1914 ? Pope Pius X (b. 1835)

Having the same birthday as Lovecraft is awesome. Having 3 popes deaths be on my birthday is....interesting.
