Bad news... I suck as an Enforcer too.

Oh and I can't play on the European servers... your red velvet fence keeps getting in the way.

I have no idea if I'm the only American on the Escapist that's going to play this, but I probably am. Which sucks because the Escapist makes good clans or gangs or units or whatever.

I got APB on the Key to the City event, have played about ten hours in the Action Districts (mission/PvP areas), & a lot of time arsing about in the Social District getting familiar with the customisation & thoroughly enjoyed it all. I was playing Global Agenda for a while, but stopped when it became a gear grind rather than a MMOTPS.

The vehicle physics are excellent, which means that loads of people will ***** their whining little hearts out & weep frustrated tantrum tears into their ickle blankies. Team orientated PvP is the main aspect of the game, which means that loads of people will ***** their whining little hearts out & sulk because 'the rest of the players are crap' (but not them obviously). Customization is unsurpassed. [EDIT] Though I'm sure some people will ***** their whining little hearts out about something to do with it.

Essentially if you like TPS MMOs & if you have friends who play, or you know how to play with strangers as part of a team then you'll love this. If you have no social skills & are the sort of cretinous idiot who runs around spamming 'noob' or other meaningless childish nonsense you'll probably hate it.

Repetitive, boring, uninspired missions, basically go up to a wall, press action key, go to another spot on the map, press action key, done.

Combat it terrible, headshots mean nothing in this game, doesn't matter if you hit them in the toe or the heart, it still takes off the same amount of damage. Usually, the one who unleashes the most amount of lead into their opponent while circle strafing, wins. Can't shoot through windscreens.

Controls feel laggy and unresponsive, though fully customizable. There's about half a second to a second delay to go from standing to crouching, leaning, or the equivalent of aiming down the sights, which they've called "marksmanship mode". You can't go prone. Crouching behind the majority of cover is useless since most walls aren't high enough to cover your head as well. Leaning and shooting around a corner is difficult, you don't know if you're going to shoot the corner or the guy in your crosshairs. Trial and error.

Horrendous loading times. Small districts, only 100 players per district, you can only interact with 16 players at a time, which is crap for an MMO.

Graphics are pretty good, though I wish we had more control over the graphics quality, but I think it's because I'm on a 32bit OS and have less than 2.5GB of RAM. At the moment I can choose from: Minimal, Medium, Maximum, (there's 4 but I can't remember the name).

My conclusion is that they focused too much time and effort on the customization system and forgot about the gameplay. So basically it's Sims 4: The MMO. The only good thing I liked about the game was being able to shoot while leaning out of a car window, while another player drives.

It looks cool, but it also looks like it will be full of griefers - intentional ones or just bad drivers running you over.

Haven't played but I heard in a interview that people would have lots of health, and if it was important enough to mention it must be really dramatic, which I hate. BFBC 2 was probably perfect in terms of health, any more is annoying, any less everybody snipes.

I'm surprised people like it, I was in the closed beta and had to just stop playing for the sheer awfulness.. Maybe they've dramatically changed it since then or something?

It was truly truly terrible in every conceivable way.

Car handling was like a cardboard box on an ice rink, the guns were so imbalanced that everyone ended up using one of 2 or 3, combat was a circle strafing, bunny hopping random kill fest and its about as much an MMO as guild wars.

This comes from someone who REALLY wanted to like it, I really did, but it was just plain awful.

I've been in the beta since April. This game is simply addicting. I'm a customization whore, so I'm basically in heaven when I'm playing it.
You WILL suck when you start playing for the first time, it's natural. Just wait 'til you get a shotgun.

Does anyone know if there is a way to buy more game hours during the pre-order stage? I've only 5 hours left :(
You can't. Demo ends soon anyway. I think they randomly give each player extra 5 hours.

Any tips for a guy who ran over someone who called for back-up? Someone that I was coming to the aid of?

Also how do you level the respective skills in this game to unlock more weapons?

I've played the demo and been in the beta, but I'm still getting some major graphical issues - stuff like parts of my character staying in incredibly low resolution - which isn't making it any fun to play.

Still, it does look promising and they're still working on it.

i BETA TESTED APB. take it from me and save your cash. the editors are so fucking useless its not even funny, the guns cost too much so your too poor to customize, the missions needed to GET cash is fucked up the arse, and half the game fails to load leaving blurry and unfinished textures. people gang up in big groups and farm missions and any unlucky SOB that takes their missions get killed over and over and over again. the back up system is fucked because if you DO come across a group of baddies no one will heed your call for help. it can take from 30 minutes to an hour for one person to accept the call and missions last only 5-20 minutes at most.
You do know what a beta test is for don't you?

I tried it brielfy thanks to the Key to the City event held recently, and i wasnt that amazed.

Sure for a multiplayer online shooter it wasnt tragic but there is long way before that game. For starters i noticed that you can actually fight only during missions, which means usually you have to get across half the district to get to he place and get picked up by 3 enemies on the other side of law, because rest of your party slacks.

Why cant i just be bad cop running around gunning down every criminal or vice versa? I heared so called chaos zones are supposed to come out with first patch, but thats a long term promise knowing the MMO industry.
The car controls were another annoying thing, it just felt unnatural and very very unfriendly when it came to turning, lacked the smoothness.

I suppose the game need some time to evolve, to add more features, the character customization is surely amazing, including ability to pretty much design your own outfit , but the actual gameplay seemed a bit lacking, not worth the subscription fees yet.

Criminals can make easy cash by stealing cars and then dropping them off. I haven't seen the Enforcer equivalent however.

I agree that when someone takes your mission as opposition, you're more than often royally fecked. Still, I can't say I ever got angry over it which is good.

Yep, no one heeds the call of help. Save for me, once, then I go and end up running over the poor bastard. I swear I pushed Space for Handbrake! I swear!

I wouldn't know about loading textures... they put constraints on my machine just because I have a 32 Bit Operating System. Nevermind the fact I have the appropriate amount of RAM, no, apparently because I have 32 Bit Operating System and Microsoft wants to be a ***** about upgrading to 64 Bit I get constraints. At least the game is playable and hasn't crashed on me all that often.

What I think the problem of this game is, is that it's definitely Squad Oriented and meant for groups. It even tells you so, all the time... but I can't be arsed to listen to it.

The game is fun for what it is and I have gotten "pumped up" playing it. Plus I got 25% off for it, so I got it for what I think it's worth. But it'll definitely be more fun if I can just find my headphones and group up.

EPIC WIN LINK!
I didn't think ANYONE else liked that song!

But back to the topic at hand, I really like the look of this.
I just hope that the Australian Ratings Board doesn't fuck us over again, or I'm going to go all Agent 47 on their crotchety old asses.

That's a good thing that, because... the Australian Ratings Board won't get their chance. EA and Realtime Studios has declined letting Australian gamers play the game. Due to server costs being rather exorbitant, apparently.

Like the game, shame about the subscription, I'm very willing to pay subscription for worthy games, but this is a 50v50 instanced TPS where the biggest fights you have are 10v10, but usually 2v2-4v4.

Also mission can be exploited as a criminal by just getting a car and running away.

Pre-ordered it for £20 using a Cokezone code from the EA Store, should be fun.

I don't even know what the fuck it is because the only time people ever talk about it is in a stupid fucking acronym that only leaves me to guess (Action Pineapple Battler? I'd totally play that) or posts videos that...don't really explain it fully. (Angry Pinching Buttress?)
It's a multiplayer crime simulator helping train us all into becoming what the politicians always knew we'd become.

Or it's All Points Bulletin which is a multiplayer crime simulator that is kind of fifty-fifty when it comes to people enjoying it. I mean, for what it is... yeah, it's enjoyable. However it's not the greatest thing ever... you definitely need a good group or you can expect to get bum-raped going solo or if you're teammates equate to being as intelligent as emus -- which can be intelligent, but hell if they're going to help you as they'd sooner eat your fingers. Which kind of makes sense considering the gameplay... and that it's multiplayer. However I haven't figured out why there are emus playing this game though...
