I remember hating this as a child simply because it was one of the first games to require a dual shock analog controller.
And we didn't have one.
So I was like "Feh!".

Oh, yeah, I remember playing Ape Escape at least once. It was really good. I just love open-world platformers! There's not just one, though. This is a whole series!

In fact, one of the characters, called "Spike", is set to be in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Ah, Ape Escape... played that game when I came down with chickenpox and didn't have to go to school.

First game I ever got 100% completion in.

Maybe if Ape Escape gets a bit of exposure with Spike being playable in Playstation Allstars a new game could be on the cards?

I had one, but didn't even know there were sequels until this thread.

Yeah, I really wanted that when I was a kid. But my controller didn't have analog sticks, so I couldn't. ):

Never played the first one (didn't own a PS1, unfortunately; my love for spyro is entirely my neighbor's fault), but the 2nd is absolutely bitchin'. Unique gameplay mechanic, fun gadgets, awesome boss battles, sleek level design,

and the original voices of ash and misty from pokemon... in a game about catching all the cute, stylized little animals... Someone at Japan Studio was having fun that day.

There's been like... 2 or 3, exclusive to japan, IIRC, pretty much all spin offs, though.

But yeah, I'd love an ape escape 4.
