It seems as though Apple has decided to pull all games featuring a Confederate flag from the App Store - this includes games based in/around the American Civil War - in the wake of the Charleston shootings.

Personally I'm inclined to agree with Biscuit, this is a white-washing of history, which is never good regardless of the situation. No matter how distasteful or abhorrent a particular historical event may be, it's still important to remember that it DID happen.

Evidently games that are set during an actual historical event do not count as "educational or historical", but rather are "mean-spirited and offensive.""We have removed apps from the App Store that use the Confederate flag in offensive or mean-spirited ways, which is in violation of our guidelines," an Apple spokeswoman told CNBC. "We are not removing apps that display the Confederate flag for educational or historical uses."
