"Yeah, I wouldn't think that would be a good idea. My friend Tyler, said that he had his first beer when he was 8, and I asked his parents about it one time, and they said he did and he puked all over the place. I laughed, and my friends laughed and they laughed and Tyler came in and was all embarrassed. Ah good times. Anyway, yeah nice to meet you guys. You make a cute couple!"

Cute is right. Wouldn't mind either of them. Although Nate looks better. Who knows? Maybe I get both? Wouldn't that be something? That would be so hot.

"Hah lesser half my ass! You make me look good!"

Reaching for another shot Tori paused, she thought of the troubles alcohol had gotten her into in the past. While she had no intentions of completely giving the stuff up she certainly wanted to tone it down.

"You know what, that's all I can handle. You got a beer or something I can sip Josh? Any kind really."

"Really? You don't drink?" Gabriel asked, shooting a slightly incredulous look at Susan. Wow. There's probably a bad experience in the past or her upbringing or something putting her off. "For the record, I do have the occasional glass myself, one or two at a time at most, but I'm not gonna force it on you or anything if you say you don't like alcohol." He got up to refill his glass, and rejoined the two girls at the table a few seconds later.

"So, um, since we're gonna be living together, um... should we set up some ground rules or guidelines or something? I mean, bathroom schedules and who watches what on TV and suchlike should be figured out before two of us have a clash," he explained, a little unsure of his words, but sure that Susan and Claudette would get what he was saying.

"Yeah, I don't drink. I...don't really want to talk about why, if that's alright. I'm quite alright with not drinking, really." Susan said and gave them a reassuring smile. "I can still hang around those that drink, provided they can control their drinking, like you seem to be able to, Gabriel." She was glad at least one of her roommates was a responsible drinker.

"Well, first rule would be to knock on the door before entering. After all, we wouldn't want awkward moments when entering each other's rooms." She giggled a bit at that. "You two can discuss who should watch what on TV. I know I won't be watching it. Never was really interested in anything on TV. Though, if you want to, you can always ask me if I want to come and join you while you watch the TV."

"Art, huh?" Micah smiled a bit... He had another artist as a room-mate. "I'm into art a little bit myself. Nothing really special, but I like to draw a little bit on my computer tablet. It's nothing amazing, but it helps me pull in a little extra cash when I have someone commission me for a piece of work. Maybe I'll show you some of my stuff sometime."

Micah continued to work on their lunch, putting some pasta in the water once it reached a boil, and putting the meat on the heat to sear.

"So, what's your medium of choice when it comes to art?" Micah asked his room-mate. "I prefer digital art, but I like working with pencils sometimes as well."

"Oh, you're an artist, too? That's great.I've not used them too much, myself. Not that I don't like it, it's just I don't really know how to do it. I'm not very good with computers. But I'd love to see what you've done with a computer and tablet. I'm not sure I've seen what you can do with that sort of thing."

"But what I can do is mostly with paper or canvas. Pencils, paints, charcoal, I even keep some crayons around just in case. Anything I can get my hands on, really. If it can be used to draw, I'll use it. "

Claudette waved goodbye to Lance as he left and turned back to her roommates. Gabriel was right, it would be smart for them to make up and go over some rules. After all, they'd be living with each other for the next year.

"I agree with knocking before entering a room. And I don't really watch that much TV. Though I will sometimes sit down and watch the occasional musical. I usually prefer to just sit in my room and play the piano though."

"All right then, if you two aren't that interested in stuff on TV, I suppose it won't be that hard for me to get at it once or twice a week," Gabriel joked. "And yeah, I'm all for knocking on a door if it's closed. We should also exchange phone numbers and suchlike in case there's a chance we could have someone over. Though personally, I don't see that happening any time soon. No 'fence to either of you." He chuckled at the thought.

"Oh, and since we're gonna be living together for a few years, you may as well call me Gabe. All my friends do."

Lance had decided on what party to go to, because after all, what better way was there to start college and meet some new people than getting pissed! Of course there was the matter of Claudette, but he would deal with it as it came up, for he'd invite her to come with him and if she declined, well, there was the rest of the year to make an impression, or find someone else entirely!

And so Lance set off from his room, first checking that he had a fresh pouch of backy (tobacco) and some papers just in case he felt like a smoke.

"Hey, I just heard of another party thats going on in the dorms and I wandered if any of you wanted to come? There'll be booze, but its not compulsory. Anyone interested? Claudette?" asked Lance, poking his head past the door to the common room, smiling shyly at each of the rooms occupants.

Susan giggled. "Don't worry, I won't take offense at that. And it's no problem about the phone number. Just give me your phones and I can put in my number." She gave them both a smile and put her phone on the table for them to put their numbers in. I have a really great feeling about living with those two. I just know we'll have fun. She was feeling rather happy right now.

"Ah, not really interested. I'm just gonna go to the non-alcoholic one. Thanks for the offer, though." Susan told Lance.

Susan's smile was contagious and soon enough, Claudette's dimples were in full effect. She grabbed Susan's phone and started to enter her phone number.

"Done and done." Claudette said, handing back the phone.

When Lance walked back to the commons asking them if they wanted to go to a party, she nodded. "I'll go, but I don't think I'll drink. Unfortunately I can't hold my alcohol.. at all. Just let me get my purse and we can go."

Claudette got up from the table and walked to her room, returning a couple of seconds later. "Okay, I'm all set."

"Good to meet you Connor," he said shaking the guy's hand before turning to Tori, "Ya check the fridge I think I have some beer in there," he heard a knock at his door to let a few more random people no one was likely to know but had come for the booze anyway. God he loved when it was a full house, he hoped more people would show.

"Oh, hello again, Lance. Didn't see you there," Gabriel said. "Another party, eh... Could be done, could be done, although I'm not exactly keen on a booze-up right now. If I go, I'm gonna be sober the whole time." If there was alcohol at a party on the first day of residence, Gabe reasoned that there was a chance it could end badly if there wasn't a guy there who was sober and could break up any potential fights between people under the influence.

"I'll wait a bit before making my decision on whether to go or not," he answered before turning back to Susan. He pulled out his phone, opened up the "new contact" window and passed it to her, taking her own phone and deftly entering his contact details, including his email address just in case.

Susan took Gabriel's phone and entered her number in it, then gave it back to him and waited for her phone back. She turned to Claudette. "Don't you want me to put my number in your phone? Just in case, you know. And then you and Gabriel can exchange numbers."

"Well, if you go, I'm going. I don't want to be alone here." she said to Gabriel. She wasn't very used to being alone, unless it was just in her room with other people in other rooms near her. She was alright with being alone in a room then, but otherwise, she preferred to be with other people.

"Sure thing Gabe, its should be pretty decent and it'll be cool to meet the guy who's providing liquor to perfect strangers" Replied Lance during Claudette's absence, his consciousness split between replying to the two present in the common room and mentally high-fiving himself in jubilation at Claudette's acceptance of his invitation.

"Okay, I'm all set."

Lance turned to face his accomplice and nodded, flashing her his trademark confident, yet slightly sheepish smile as he did so.

"Well then, looks like we're off, see you two later" said Lance by way of a farewell to the two they were leaving behind, as he extended his arm forwards in the direction the pair were heading courteously, heading off in that direction himself after a slight pause.

If there was anything Lance liked to think he knew, it was charm.

Mark was walking back up the dormitory staircase; he?d spent a considerable amount of time in The Turret, and he?d had enough of the place.

Crowded? Uninteresting?

He was just at his door when he heard a considerable amount of chatting on the floor above him, along with a lot of simultaneous footsteps and what could be perceived as music. He gave a slow nod, and realised that this must be another party; this one must be filled with all the characters, it being an unplanned one.

Hrm? Best if I go up.

Mark gave a sigh as he walked to the staircase, and climbed up, reaching the next floor. He glanced at the door where all the noise was coming from, and gave a slow nod as he walked towards it. He turned the handle, and pushed the door open.

He probably made a bad impression, as the door hit some random partygoer as it swun inwards. He gave a small sigh, not even acknowledging whoever he hit as he walked in- however, he heard an irritated voice from behind him mumbling ?Asshole?.

Mark glanced around, giving a slight shudder at the cramped and populated space- he decided to avoid any congregations, and make almost immediately for the nearest corner; which thankfully wasn?t populated by anyone.

Now? Time to see what I?m working with.

"I'll show you some time. Maybe tomorrow." Micah said with a smile as he continued cooking.

The two room-mates continued to talk while Micah cooked, the delicious smells emanating from the kitchen made the college students' mouths water. Finally, it was done. Micah got two large plates from the cupboard and served himself and Kiska their meal.

"You want something to drink, hun?" Micah asked the girl. "I've got Dr. Pepper, some Cokes, Ginger Ale, water... Anything you want? I can make you some tea if you'd like."

Micah giggled a bit... It was nice to have someone who appreciated his cooking, and with whom he could get along with as a room-mate.

"After this, we'll head on down to that party." Micah told Kiska the plans. "With food on our stomachs, the alcohol won't hit us too hard, and it'll spare us a hangover should either of us drink too much."

Connor downed yet another shot as the others continued. He had to shake his head at the taste this time, it wasn't getting any easier. They always seemed to say that tequila gets easier to drink after you're already drunk, but he was thinking there was no way this could ever taste good.

His stomach lurched and he gagged a bit, covering a vile belch with one hand.

"Whoa, that was close." he said with a chuckle, his head spinning a bit already. He couldn't remember if it had been five shots or six. Probably six. "I think that's all for me. I'm not doing any good if I'm chucking up my booze."

Anya had finished her sixth shot as Connor announced he had had enough. "Well no duh, Connor, you grabbed like three at once to start! If you can't pull that off, you gotta be able to pace yourself a little bit!" She looked over at Josh who was still going strong. "Well Josh, looks like I'm the only one left. Can't be losing to a tiny little thing like me, can ya? Big sports star you?"

Hope I'm right on that. He looks it. That body is like just awesome. He has to play something....

"Oh! Well, if you don't wanna go, I can stay and keep you company if you want," Gabriel quickly answered Susan. "I'd have checked with you before I went, of course; I don't just up and leave on someone without talking to them about it first. So it's your call on whether to go or not. If you don't want to, I'm fine with staying."
