"Hrm... I doubt that."

He gave a distasteful glance at whoever had passed him the beer, and made a small grunt of distaste as he glanced at him- a stereotypical little party boy wanker, as what he could see. Mark placed his beer onto a coffee table beside him; he despised alcohol.

Bastard thinks he can talk down to me. He's going on the list.

Trisha couldn't help but nod in agreement to the indian girls words. Living things up was always interesting especially when it came to little off collar parties like this one. It wan't until she heard the DJ begin to mix it up putting some pretty decent dance music on that the smile on her face grew looking over to her new friend.

"Well well, it seems that man was picking up on us whether he heard or not. He managed to get the DJ to put on some decent music. You what it's time for girl, let's do this." Just as the music really started to kick up Trisha moved back to the counter grabbing a quick drink and downing half of it before making her way to the center of the music. Her hips and hair already swaying with the beats of the music. Her movements and shifts grabbing the attention of people every now and then as she began to create a dance floor to actually tear up. Her body bending and turning to the music letting every pice flow in time before looking over to Anya and waving her hand, the position it made the classic get over here.

Tori shook her head at Josh,

"He can be a little abrasive at times, just ignore him he isn't that bad. So what are you taking here Howard? General studies or do you have a little more direction than that?" Tori's hips and head moved back and forth to the music, assuming he would not ask her what she as studying, she told him, "I'm getting into child psychology and teaching, always liked kids..."

Gabriel chuckled at the comment. "It's fine. I wear jackets like that in the same way. Even in the coldest winters, I have my jacket open. I reckon, well... I think it looks cooler to leave it like that. Plus I don't really like the feeling of minor claustrophobia I get when I have my jacket closed." He also liked the idea of wearing his silver pendant over his shirt instead of under it the way he normally did. People wouldn't exactly notice it with a closed jacket. On that note, Gabriel reached under his shirt and pulled out the small charm, letting it rest on his shirt.

"Yes! Let's get this party torn up!" Anya poured and down one more shot of tequila, number eight on the evening for those counting, and then followed her new friend out into the middle of the room. The lure of the pounding techno was calling, and she could feel it running through her with the tequila. The beats. The bass. It was all there.

She came out to the middle with Trisha, letting her arms fly above her, her head bobbing back and forth in time with the song, her ponytail whipping out along her sides. She was getting into it now.

He hated her dancing. She moved to fast, she spoke to loud. She was unruly. He didn't like that. There was to much sound in the place, to many lights, to many movements, to much talking...

He gave a slow nod at Tori's options, and replied.

"Hrm... Snot and grazed knees... Sounds like a fantastic idea for a career."

Mark hid his smugness at his quip, and gave a slow nod at Tori as he spoke again.

"I'm here for Philosophy, Politics, and Economics... PPE. I would of went to Oxford, but I can't stand the type that attends that place. So Harbour University was my choice. I've always admired the American pantheon of ideas and attitudes... Even your politics... At least when the Democrats aren't in the White House, anyway."

At least she hasn't punched me, that's a plus. Maybe she could be my friend... Ha... How quaint.

Mark's neurotic pondering was becoming louder as the list of stimuli grew.

"I've always found places like that to be so pretentious, it's like everyone there thinks they are just the greatest people who have ever lived. I'd say Harbour was the better choice, at least in my opinion. Why did you get into those studies?" Tori took a swig of her beer then realized she hadn't offered Howard any, "Oh how rude of me! Would you like something to drink Howard? I'm sure Josh has more than just booze if you aren't a drinker."

"Yeah Anya, now you're getting into the speed of things." By now along with those that were drinking or chatting and reminicising, a few of the other people at the party were either watching those that already were dancing or starting to dance themselves. A few of them were more like drunk spastic movements that some observes smiled at. Others knew what they were doing. Trisha stayed in the flow of the beat, her arms sliding down her sides and along her hips as she slowly arched her body out and then brought it back in. Keeping slight eyes on those around her and on Anya the smile never leaving her face. She was enjoying herself quite a bit now.

"Well, after I graduated high school I got a job at a local supermarket. I worked during the summer, kept practicing the piano, and I also hung out with my friends. Not the most exciting summer, but it was nice." Claudette said with a smile on her face. "And you don't have to get me a drink. Thank you though."

Just as Claudette was about to ask Lance a question a young man walked over and greeted them.

"Oh, hello" she said, trying to talk over the loud music.

"Well, it certainly sounds better that some summers that I've-" began Lance, before they were approached by who Lance guessed was their mysterious partying benefactor. Lance turned partially towards their host and gave his a friendly nod.

"Nice to be here, thanks for the party! You mind if I have a couple?" shouted Lance, as he indicated towards the beers on the table. Despite there being other, stronger drinks available tonight, Lance was with company and he didn't exactly want to scare off Claudette by getting hammered.

"And its no problem Claudette, just give me a shout and I'll get you a drink, a non-alcoholic one if you prefer too!"

She really seems to want to talk to me for some reason. I can't imagine why.

"Oxford's not so much pretentiousness as much as possessing a lack of intelligence. Every person under 30 in Britain is either apathetic to anything or a radical to everything." He slowly shook his head at Tori's query for a drink, "I don't need anything, the corner is perfectly adequate for myself. I... Appreciate your offer, though."

She's making me thank her? What next? Is she going to make me shine her bloody boots? Probably, actually. Women have an obsession with cleanliness.

And footwear.

"Hello both of you," Josh said over the music, his blood pumping with the beat, he looked at the guy ad smiled, "No need to walk over there bud I know a magic trick."

He drew both their attention with his hands, "Look at me...now look at yourselves," as they did that he put his arms over both of them and someone tossed him a couple beers, "Now back to me," he laughed and opened the beers on his belt buckle and handed one to each of them, "Now you have a beer just like me," he produced his own from the back pocket of his jeans and opened it," May I ask for cheers and a toast to the new school year....what did you say your guy's names were?" he assumed they were a couple since they came in together.

"Alright well I'm going to go mingle, give me a call if you need anything. I'll see you around Howard." with a smile, Tori left Howard to his corner. It was far from the most pleasant conversation she's had in her life, unsure of why exactly he acted that way she intended to not only find out why in the future but had plans of breaking this false shell and seeing the real Howard. His rude attitude and bitterness seemed almost like an act to Tori, it's as though his main entertainment in life was saying rude things and getting reactions from people. Almost like the people who comment on Youtube videos... what were they called again? Trolls! It suddenly hit Tori that she was dealing with a real life troll, should be fun trying to break him down.

Making her way back to Nathan she went directly through the crowd of dancers, slinking past Anya and Trish she chuckled and smiled. Putting her hand on Nathan's shoulder she leaned into his ear,

"Looks like my roomie is getting close to Anya, sure doesn't take long at these parties eh?"

"Yeah!" Connor shouted, putting his hands over his head as the room started to thump with bass. His head was starting to buzz pleasantly from the tequila, and the music was all the more enthralling because of it.

He started to nod his head and groove from side to side with the beat, looking over the crowd for anyone interesting. It didn't take long for him to notice a slight gap in the crowd with a couple girls dancing in the middle. He pushed through the mass of people to get closer look and was pleased to find his roomie at the center of it all.

Yeah, I had no idea what to post all this time. I just had to put something in so I wouldn't get too far behind and forgotten.

Susan chuckled a little. "Yeah, I think a small part of me thinks it's cool to leave the sweater open. I may be 20 but I still seem to have the mind of a teenager sometimes." She noticed the pendant Gabriel had reached for and was letting rest over his shirt. "Nice pendant. Looks well made. A gift from a girlfriend?" she asked with a silly smile. It looked rather well, she thought.

"Hehe... thanks." Micah smiled, glad that she had such a positive reaction to his cooking. "It's not that hard to make, really... I'll keep in mind that you like lamb. Anything else that you really like that you'd like me to make every once in a while?"

Micah dug into the food and smiled, applauding himself silently at his cooking. He always did a much better job when he was cooking for someone else, and he was glad that he had a roomie who appreciated his cooking.

"You're going to love me even more when I start baking." Micah said with a smile. "My cookies are fantastic."

He looked at his cell phone at the time, and pondered a few things.

"When do you think we should leave for this party?" He asked Kiska for her opinion.

"Actually, no. The girls I've been with... well, we'll discuss that another time," Gabriel said, looking away briefly before touching the silver eagle hanging around his neck and looking back up at Susan. "I found this little piece in a jewellery store in the mall a couple of years ago. Cost a fair bit, but it wasn't the most expensive thing in the place. I liked the look of it, so I figured why not buy it? It's also been a bit of a lucky charm when I needed it to be."

That last part probably didn't make sense to Susan, Gabriel imagined. He liked to think of the charm as being lucky. As such, he had worn it when taking every test and exam in high-school after he bought it. While he knew that luck didn't really help in formal examinations, he was entitled to his little superstitions. He said as much to Susan, elaborating on the comment.

The music kept playing and Anya kept going, intent on matching the energy of the beats, and of her new friend. She gave a quick wave to Tori as she passed by, but was more happy to see her roommate coming in to join the fray.

"Hey Connor! How you feeling now? Hope you can handle this! This is pretty crazy right here! Oh by the way," she brought her roomate more into the center where Trisha was. "Connor this is my new friend Trisha! Trisha this is my roommate Connor! Man this is some party right! Woooo!"

"If the other things you make are near as good as this, I'm sure that I'll enjoy whatever you make," Kiska said between mouthfuls of food. She finished what was on her plate, and began sipping on her drink.

"Baking? Cookies? Micah, I think I'm going to have trouble keeping away from that 'Freshman Fifteen' my mother told me about." Kiska smiled as she put the soda down on the table.

She looked at the clock on her cell phone, "Oh, I didn't realize the time. We could go as soon as I finish cleaning the kitchen like we agreed," Kiska took her plate to the sink and began cleaning up, "Does that sound okay, or did you want to leave earlier? I'm fine with whatever you want to do."

Claudette held the opened bottle of beer in her hand, unsure of what to do with it. She didn't want to drink it because she hated how beer tasted, but she didn't want to be rude and just throw it away. Now she was starting to regret not asking Lance to get her a non-alcoholic drink.

"Thank you", she said to Josh. He seemed nice, like he was always the life of the party. "My name is Claudette Bellerose. It's a pleasure to meet you."
