"I might go, though I'll probably just hover around on the edges of the action, or avoid people by sitting in a corner or somewhere else relatively secluded," Gabriel answered Claudette with an apologetic shrug. "I don't really do parties that well. I guess it comes with not having many friends in high-school..." He fell silent, thinking back on his limited social life. Having much preferred studies to socialising, that was one of the reasons why Gabriel had been picked on in his teenage years. Looking back on that, he made a snap resolution: to break out of the shell that high-school had put him in. Mix the student with the socialite. And a dash of nerd as well. The perfect recipe, he thought with a smile, remembering the video games installed on his laptop, and one particular pack of cards in a suitcase.

"Ah, heck with it, I'm gonna go to the party," he declared. "Might as well, right? Beats hanging around here with little else to do if everyone else is going."

"I'm an Art major. I've always enjoyed drawing and painting. That man, Bob Ross, he was always so interesting to watch reruns of. That, and I'm not really good at anything else." She gave a light chuckle, "My skill in math is about half as good as my cooking, if that's any hint."

"And Child Psychology? That sounds like a fun thing to be in. It's a pretty crucial time for people, and someone to help them with it will only make things better. I wish you the best in your endeavour."

"Alright, then. You'd better hide that booze if you're bring it along."

He left the room and let her follow him out, then he locked the door shut behind them. He pulled out his cell phone and re-checked the details of this party as they walked. The dorm was fairly large, but there wasn't any problem finding the right place.

Connor gave the door a few solid knocks and waited for someone to come by.

Trisha was right behind the both of them as they walked out before looking back at Josh. Mainly to avoid the small amount of public affection but she didn't make it seem like that. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy watching, it was more or less the male factor of it. "Well it looks like we are all good and ready set it off. Let's get a move on drink master."

"Alright sounds good," Josh said, leading the rest of the group to his dorm, one of the biggest on the floor, perfect for parties. As they walked towards it he noticed two others at the door. Trying to act serious for a moment you stopped them, "Password?" he said his face dead set serious. He waited only about 5 seconds before breaking out into laughter, "Nah nah, fuck it we know why you're here, c'mon in," he unlocked the dorm and let the rest of the people in it before closing it once again.

Once they were inside they saw what was in the dorm so far in the corner with two couches facing it sat a 60" LCD TV with a 360 attached and a couple games laid on top of it. There was also a stereo system in the other corner and on the counter sat the night's refreshments. Josh slid behind the counter top and pulled up 8 shotglasses, "Tequila?" he asked while pouring the shots. He took two and downed them quickly before raising a third waving for the others to all take one, "You know you wanna take the challenge."

"I'll have to play it out here one day, should be fun" replied Lance, miming playing the banjo with both of his hands in their respective places on the imaginary instrument, smiling as he did so. The Banjo had been one of the only things that had filled his time during his two year home-schooling hiatus and he knew that he most likely would have gone insane without that instrument.

"As for the party" said Lance, dropping his hands from his imaginary instrument and focusing back on the group infront of him.

"I'm up for it, shame about the lack of booze though, but there'll be plenty of time to get drunk with you guys over our time here right?

Anya had hid the booze in her laptop bag, emptying out the electronic components before she followed Connor out the door. It was a relatively quick walk to the room indicated. Connor had to knock on the door but no one was there. She was bout to say something before a group of people came roaring up to the room and let them in.

The room was fairly impressive for a dorm room, she would have to remember to ask for this room next year if she needed it. She spotted the corner counter with the well stocked liquor selection and quickly made a beeline for it. "Oh, you want a challenge in drinking? OK, big boy. I'll show you how the Indian girls do it. Start pouring, This is my first day in university and I won't consider it a successful day if I can remember half of it!"

Claudette was thankful that her roommates and Lance were going to go to the party. She wasn't a huge fan of parties herself, but having people that she knew there would make things a lot easier.

"Why don't we all go together? It'll certainly make things a bit easier."

Connor was visibly impressed by the dorm room. Whoever this guy was that sent out the invite, he had some deep pockets. And he seemed to have his priorities in order.

College priorities, anyway. he thought with a smirk, watching their host pour out tequila shots. Connor took one right away and downed it, groaning a bit as he put down the empty glass. He wasn't much of a tequila fan, but if the occasion called for it . . .

"So, who might you be?" he asked the man behind the counter, "I get the feeling you're someone important to know around here."

"Sounds like a plan" said Lance, getting up with his chair and stretching slightly as he did so, a few barely audible cracks being emmited by his lower spine. While he was enjoying his new friends company, he had to get back to his room and unpack a little more, lest whoever he was sharing his room with, if anybody, would walk in on the mess he had left in his stead.

"I gotta go and take care of a few things, see you guys in a bit"

--------------------------

"Whats all this then?" asked Lance in a mock british accent, as he perused the invitation he had recieved to another party, though this one really appealed to him, for there would be booze involved. Lance leant back in his chair and wandered, he would really like to go to this party, but he'd already said that he would attend that non-drinking 'gathering' with the others and while he wasn't too fussed with blowing off two of their number, Lance would have been lying if he didn't admit he had a slight thing for that French Claudette girl.

"Maybe she'll want to come with?" he asked, despite the fact that he already knew what the answer was likely to be. Still, he had a little while before he had to make a solid decision, perhaps he'd come up with an amicable solution, but then again, giving Lance's track record with solutions, he probably wouldn't.

"Josh smiled at the spicy girl that had headed straight for the alcohol, "See now that's what I like to hear," he began pouring more shots, "I warn you though, if its one thing I know, its tequila," he laughed and downed another shot.

He looked at the other guy who had come with her, "And you dude? Need a drink?" Without waiting for an answer he poured one anyways and gave it to him, "Anyways the name is Joshua Richardson, yes I have money, yes I'll blow it on booze, its just how it goes, as for importance, eh maybe; I just know people, hence how I got all your numbers."

Susan gave it a thought for a short while before she answered them. "Yeah, you're right, Gabriel. It does beat hanging out here by yourself. You know what, I'm going too. We'll have so much fun!" She was excited about the party now, since she'd be going with people she knew. Well, the people she knew best so far in the college.

"As I said earlier, I don't drink. I plan to never drink, ever." she said to Lance. "Not a drop of alcohol will enter this body unless forced." She'd had a bad experience with drunks before who had almost forced alcohol down her throat. She'd been able to avoid it and had left the place she had been in immediately. "Let's just hope that won't happen, shall we?" she said with a smile. "And yeah, see you later, Lance."

Anya quickly grabbed two of the poured shots and dropped them both in quick succession. "And if there's one thing I know, it's outdrinking white boys. That and the lyrics to Naturally."

She brought out her liquers and added them to the pile Joshua had on the table. "You said your name was Joshua Richardson? That names sounds sort of familiar....can't remember where from. Oh well, whatever. My name's Anya."

Tori stared wide eyed at this new darker skinned girl, she was certainly able to handle her booze,

"Damn this party is filling up already Josh. I guess all you would need to do is write booze and the room number and we would have a full house." Tori reached for two of the shot glasses and handed one to Nate, smiling she quickly poured the liquid down her throat. A slight shudder followed and Tori licked her lips, "Woo! I sure can't take this stuff as well as you can Anya! Good lord."

"Eh, I've practiced," Anya stated as she grabbed another of the shots. "It's how we do it in the Chicago suburbs. This is our weekends right here. Not like we're going to the bowling alley or something. Seriously, who does that anymore? Nine year olds, right? But yeah, tequila is awesome, I can do that so much better than gin or vodka. I have to mix those."

"Well I mean I've spent plenty of time drinking but I still can't handle the hard stuff all that well..." shrugging, Tori took another shot. Again she shuddered and her eyelids fluttered, "N-names Tori. I'm more of a mixed drink girl myself but a good drink is a good drink."

"Definitely," Anya agreed as the third shot went down. "I mean I brought some mixing liquor if you want to switch off the tequila. I didn't know if it was BYOB or not, so I figured I would just in case. I don't know if Josh has anything to mix it with. It looks like he went with all hard stuff. I've got some Sourpuss in there if you want that though."

Trisha had already downed her first shot leaning against the side of the counter. It wasn't till she looked over seeing another dark-skinned female drop another shot she grinned internally. Looking forward and snaking another shot from the table. Sighing to herself softly and laughing slightly before looking over. "A male who knows his drinks and a girl who enjoys taking down white boys at the table. From what I've seen so far I'm enjoying my peers pretty well."

Downing the shot she grabbed earlier, this is certainly going to get interesting depending. Looks like I'll have to keep my options open. She had stayed quiet for a moment not because she had nothing to say but she was really just looking around. Always looking around and watching areas seeing the type of people. Mainly because the ones who came to this pre-party were sure to be more interesting than those who only anticipated the fun of the Freshman one.

"Looks like she'll be good with just a water in a couple of minutes," Nate said with a grin after downing his own shot glass. He coughed once, but otherwise it went down smoothly; he was more of a beer person, sure, but he could get through the hard stuff when the need presented itself. Note to self: keep an eye on Tori tonight, he thought to himself as she attempted to match Anya's pace.

Looking to Anya, he pointed at her with the empty glass. With an amused expression, he interjected, "Clearly you haven't tried drunk bowling, then. I'm pretty sure no nine-year old does that. I hope not, anyway.

"And I'm Nate, by the way. Tori's lesser half."

"Well, nice to meet you Joshua." Connor said, taking another shot and downing it. He hissed in a breath, then let it out quickly.

Giving a sidelong glance at his new roomie, he couldn't help but be amazed at how well she was taking the tequila. She was definitely a party girl.

"Oh, I'm Connor LeBaron." he said, looking back to Josh.
