I say that there is most likly some other life out there, it could be a simple as a germ. Aliens that fly around probing ass probally are not real, but it is possable. So yea, what do you think?

It's statistically improbable/impossible that we are alone in the universe. Or so my astronomy teacher claimed, and he was usually referring to some sort of microorganism. I'm inclined to agree, considering the number of galaxies in the universe.

I would say that alien microbial life is definetly possible. That fact that we are here is by complete chance with how far the planet is from the sun, but I would say that there is a good chance that life exists elsewhere.

The universe is incredibly vast.

I believe there has to be some form of life on other planets, if not intelligent life. Humans aren't that special.

I like to believe that there is life out in space. But I need solid proof before I call them real.

It's possible, we know little about the planets in different galaxies (or evel other solarsystems within this galaxy).

I think there are small undeveloped life forms in the universe, maybe nearby. If an alien race was very highly developed, it would have to be very far away for us not to have noticed them or vice versa.

I believe in extra-terrestrial life, but the universe is so enormous I don't think humans will ever meet them. Also, please use correct spelling.

Why shouldn't there be any other life forms out there? It would be terribly ignorant to assume that we would be the only ones with a functioning earth.

As the universe is larger than anyone can ever imagine, I'd bet my arse there's something else floating around in space, minding its own business.

Given the diversity of species on the planet it is impossible for our planet to be the only one bearing life >_>

I'm pretty sure the consensus amongst astrophysicists is that microbial life at the least is certain, no longer just probable :).

In fact once they get a manned mission to (I believe) Titan they are expecting to find something akin to fish beneath the ice.

There is absolutely no reason to assume that humans are it.

There are organisms that do not require water and eat nothing but stone, that means that any source of stone in the entire galaxy could potentially harbor (albeit small) life. Life as we know it is difficult to find on other planets. Mainly because life on other planets won't be life as we know it.

But I can promise anyone in their 20's that plans to live into their 80's that we'll (assuming we don't all succumb to bacteria or war) find life on another planet in our own solar system.

If we are lucky it'll be those spider-man symbiots (one can dream...course I'm being silly at this point).

Whatever other planet that can substain organic is so far away that we wouldn't be able to reach it in a million years.

So what does it really matter?

Yes, they may not be alive now, they may be around after we go, but there HAS to be life other then ours.

We just probably will never meet them.

Someone hasn't been reading any astrophysics books in the last decade methinks.

Check out basically anything by Neil DeGrasse Tyson or quite frankly anyone dealing with biology or space at this point.

I haven't heard a comment like yours honestly muttered since the mid to late 90's.

But to your credit you might be assuming we mean sentient or highly complex life.
