There is life off this planet, anyone who says otherwise is a fool and doesn't understand the sheer size of the universe or just how damn determined life is. They have found life living on nuclear power rods, in boiling water, in area with 0 light.

Considering the size of our galaxy and the countless planets inside of it mixed with just how tiny it is compared to the countless amount of larger galaxies, there's no chance of life not not existing somewhere out there.

As far as UFOs visiting Earth? I have my doubts, but who knows.

There's gotta be something out there. It might even be in another galaxy and totally beyond our means to detect, but it's there.

If it's just us, seems like an awful waste of space.

I ran the numbers in the last thread for this, and the number of planets in the universe (based on a few assumptions relating to averages) is beyond merely "mind-boggling."

The odds of another lifeform - which would presumably be based on carbon or silicon - not existing are very, very low. I doubt it'll be particularly complex if we ever find it, but it's probably there.

As far as i understand their's millions of stars with planets all orbiting them, meaning theirs many millions of planets. Thats one Galaxy, and their's Billions of them.

It's retarded to assume their isnt even a few microbes lying about, lottering. Though i think it's equally retarded to assume that intelligent life has visited earth to sodomise crazy peoples arses.

Well if you think about it we are not all that complex. I think Full Metal said it best "You can buy everything that makes up the human body."

Pretty much what everyone else said. Life is definitely out there.

The chances of us ever finding it might be a bit slim.

I think it's really unlikely that there is a species out there as smart as humans.
REALLY? Think about it... our planet inhabits one Solar system in ONE galaxy. There are millions upon millions of galaxies out there with thousands of Solar systems... Hell man I don't even know how many stars there are in our galaxy. I find the idea that there isn't intelligent life other than humans in our galaxy preposterous. Let alone the universe.

Considering how big the universe is to think we are the smartest thing in existense is either incredibly vain or unfathomably ignorant.

Considering the vast amount of planets we have no Idea about and our location in the outer rim I'd say that there is a very good chance that there is one or many more alien lives out there. There is a less of a chance for our Intelligence level since there are so many things that combined till this point but it is not impossible that life could have evolved that far. Also if my understanding is correct there are infinite amount of stars and galaxies so yes there has to be some somewhere if not in our galaxy.

From what I've read I can only conclude that microbal life is very feasible outside planet earth. That said, I think it's unlikely we'll find any for a long, long time.

But what do I know I'm a behavioural scientist. X_x

Considering the impressive number of other galaxies, and in each of these galaxies the impressive number of stars, chances are very good there's a lot more than one other planets with life in any kind of form or evolution. We're definitely not alone in the universe.

The chances of the earth being the perfect distance from the sun so that it could support life was something like 1 in 130,000,000,000. I thought they had found dead frozen microorganisms on Mars though....

Assuming that the universe is infinite and therefore has infinite potential events, then yes there are aliens in the universe. In fact, according to this theory, there are an infinite amount and variety of aliens.

It's probable, however, I doubt we will find any alien lifeforms in my lifetime.

It really would be nice to find some though. I'd like to know more about the universe and the other creatures out there, because it opens up so many questions for us. I love having a new question to answer or at least ponder.

Let's see. We have this photograph that is the largest ever. In encompasses about 10,000 or so galaxies. These Galaxies all of a shitload of plants. This photograph is about 1/13,000,000 of the VISIBLE universe. We estimate the visible universe to be about a quarter and the rest of the universe to be the planet earth. Seriously, there is no way in hell there isn't life somewhere else in this place.

Of course they are.
Hell, they live south of the USA. (Actually, they live all over the world, but whatever.)
And yes, they also probably look like us because we ended up being at the top of natural selection, so if anything, they are at least "humanoid".

It's statistically impossible that we are alone in the universe. Or so my astronomy teacher claimed, and he was usually referring to some sort of microorganism. I'm inclined to agree, considering the number of galaxies in the universe.
That is true and even within our own galaxy, some say our system but i doubt it probs microbial. there is accully a theroitical equation for finding life in other places don't know where to look but its out there look it up on wiki.

Also if we were alone God fucked up big time
an yes there is life out there, personally still waiting on a sighting myself but i belive

I've seen a lot of alien stuff lately, and I did some research. If they are, I'm fine with it.
As long as it's not like Mars Attacks.

I suggest looking up Stan Romanek. :D
