The reason there are no books about people doing normal things is because you do normal things.
Therefore, that's most likely not what you want to read about.

No, not all teens have sex and do drugs.

Wait, are we counting prescription meds? Because in that case yes, practically every teen takes drugs.

Eh in some places sure. Just not where I live, we have like maybe 50 drug users although we don't consider weed a drug really so...I blame them Americans.

How come violence is better than drugs?
cause violence gets rid of stupid people drugs some times do but not always
Right. And no intelligent [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Shulgin] people [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_Zeff] have ever [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Hofmann] taken [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edgar_Allen_Poe] drugs [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Sagan], right?

Also, are you SERIOUSLY advocating KILLING over drugs now? What the fuck kind of morals do you have?

Now isn't that cute, you've got me laugh like a pothead.
You have some very strange logic, sir. Taking drugs that temporarily alters brain functions in a usually pleasurable way =/= brain damage. Show me the science to back up your claim.

Using violence to solve problems and non-problems alike? Well, that usually ends well...
Well gee, I was implying that I'd be aiming for their skull half the time, but only because I figured out way too late that you take everything WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SEEEEEERRRRIIIIIIIIOOOOOOUUUUUUUSLYYYYYYYYYYY. I also didn't realize you'd be such an ignorant pissbreath. Cocaine, heroine, meth; have you heard of any of these things? Fuck, the dangers of them obviously aren't exclusive to the brain, either.
oh, lol. Many of the dangers of those drugs come from their illegality. You are aware heroin is a pain killer, right? Just like morphine and ketamine are used in hospitals safely around the world, heroin can be used safely. Sure, jacking up some dirty fucking skag in a Tesco car park with a used needle into a collapsing vein is a stupid idea, but then so is running down the middle of the road when you can use the pavement.

If someone wants to use drugs with a risk factor involved, why can't they? It's their body. If someone becomes a junkie because they couldn't control their habit, and they rob and steal, that is THEIR fault. That makes THEM a dickhead. Was it the fault of the drug?

And, taking things way too seriously? You're the one that expressed remorse that you hadn't had the chance the actually physically injure someone for offering you (not even forcing - drugs should never, ever, be forced on someone against their will. Runs totally contrary to the concept of cognitive liberty) drugs. Sounds like someone's taking this little fleeting moment we have on this spot of beauty in the universe far too seriously. Chill man, life's about the good times...

I know for a fact that just last week a whole bunch of kids (50 or so freshmen) got suspended for drugs, so even though I hate adults looking down on teens I have to say that this is true for most teens.

That's certainly the perception. My parents even prescribe to it, to a degree. Didn't leave me alone with my girlfriend for any extended period of time for the first 6 or 7 months we dated.

well i'm not a drug addict i would never touch the stuff, but "Sex Addict" is an imaginary addiction, if we had the choice to have sex any time we wanted to we would,(not counting moral values and stuff), yeah i feel bad for ya dude, but you just gotta nip it in the butt, and just do your drugs and girlfriend when your not technically a teenager anymore...then that gets rid of the stereotype(not that im saying to do drugs) either wait a few years or just stop your mom from reading all the damned books!

I don't do drugs, and I'm abstaining from sex (for my own purposes). But, I know some people who get stoned, people who had pot in their lockers, Etc, etc. Stereotypes for teenagers have been like this forever, Teenagers are angsty, teenagers are rebellious, teenagers are violent the whole shebang.

Has anyone told the author that during your teens is when your hormones go bonkers? Well of course they're sex driven, I was and Im sure many of you used to be/still are.

Drugs wise, I see more Adults popping pills etc then teens.

It doesn't help that TV-shows glorify teenagers smoking pot and drinking either.
"Skins" being the major one here.

Because, that's what the media wants to portray us as. Because as stated earlier, if your not waving the flag and scoffing apple pie. Your going to be on Fox news as a Crazy Violent Druggie/Sex Fiend. Pretty sad really, as for that in real life I know a few friends that have sex a lot and they're jolly good people.

Shoot you down? Why would we do that? You make a valid point. The only flaw to your point is that this has always been they way. In the past religion told parents that their children would sin, nowadays the media tells parents that there children will be bad.

Nothing changes but everything varies.

but I can see where this is going to lead. Parents who read these books are going to become paranoid. They will try to match any sort of pattern in the book with their child's life, and then condemn them for it.

I have to note that while you bemoan the stereo typying of teenagers, you sure jump on the "all people older than me are dim witted alarmists!" band wagon pretty quick.

And you younger whelps would be wise not to dismiss the lessons that age and experience teach. The are definately worth listening to even though it may not be what you want to hear.
