Someone said 'First Person Shooters need a multiplayer component because they tend to have short, shallow stories and gameplay otherwise.'
I have no problem with multiplayer gaming whatsoever. Where I have the problem is when a multiplayer game gets a hasty single player campaign made for it to 'justify' it outside its multiplayerness.
If you can't do a damn single-player mode right, don't bother. It's clearly not that important to you. Take the damn development time and make an awesome multiplayer experience instead, rather than spend time half-assing the game.
If you can do -both- wonderfully, then do so. But don't make a half-ass game to justify a total 'package'.
