Are Humans Stupid or Evil?

Many people suggest that humans are stupid or evil beings, but are we not vastly more intelligent than any other animal on Earth? Does harming the Earth or other humans make us evil or perhaps just what any other animal in our position would do? Would a carnivore devour a human if it had the chance? Does that make the carnivore evil?

Or perhaps our sense of morality has made us believe that given our position we are, in fact stupid and evil. Acting out against other humans and the Earth out of sheer selfishness, is that not what today's standards considers evil? Or perhaps are standards are nothing more than a sense of morality warped by peers and media?

What do you think? Are humans stupid and evil in their position as rulers of Earth, or are we just acting the way anything else would in our position?

Less stupid, more ignorant. And less evil, more selfish. That's how I see it, anyways.

A PERSON can be intelligent and reasonable, but people in groups are stupid, easily manipulated and barely above a herd of animals.

just look at those who watch fox news!

nowadays stupid/ignorant, because way back with the Sumer, they had clean power plants, and had nuclear power and nuclear bombs. the way they built things and the way the drilled and such, we don't have the technology that they had, we haven't figured it out yet...but they knew how to do it..they knew stuff such as planets and sizes, weights and such of all of them, and we recently figured it out and it's the exact same as theirs....and we thought THEY were idiots

*EDIT*

they also were able to produce an eternal fuel source for flying, calle a mercury vortex engine, and it was a clean fuel source, no pollution with it, whatsoever, and we don't have the technology to do that anymore..why? because we refuse to believe that they were smarter than us

*EDIT*

Neither. Humans are naturally good and are perverted into evil and most every human has the capacity for intelligent thought. hth

I'm sorry, but I'm terribly confused by this. Surely you aren't speakig of the Sumerian civilization, are you? That would simply be absurd.

Evil, because we're smart enough to have invented torture, cruelty and malice. We are intelligent enough to have grown bored of the world, and now have the need to search for ways to relieve the boredom, which can take many people down very depraved roads..

Both, but I think humans are more ignorant than stupid.
Hmm, maybe we are. But what ignorance are we guilty of? Are we denying something or is there something we do not know or understand?

Absolute Morality assumes the existence of God. Without a supreme intelligence, morality is nothing more than a matter of opinion. Without God, you say murdering another people and filling up their land with my descendants is wrong...and I just say it's evolution. And because we are both human, our different opinions on the subject are both equally valid.

Or, more simply put, without a supreme intelligence, all opinions on the subject are fundamentally equal, and there is no one answer, since both arguing intelligences would be fundamentally equal. Only with a Supreme Intelligence can matters of opinion become truly right or wrong.

Even more simply put: It's a matter of opinion, unless there is an even higher intelligence beyond us whose statement on the subject overrides our own individual opinions.
