I dont know about you but I just dont find women comedians very funny. Its like girls can only be funny to girls but not to guys. However guys are funny to both guys and girls. Am I wrong?
The way I feel when I watch a girls stand up routine is like being at an all women get together drinking tea discussing periods, menopause, and other things guys dont want to hear because its a huge pennies repellent.
So tell me how you feel about girl comedians. Do you find them funny?

EDIT: Because I always have to explain some more. Im talking on average are women funny. Yes there are funny women but are the majority funny?

It's the standard thing that female comedians are funny, but they're never really laugh out loud funny, unless you're also a woman and can relate to what they're saying about menapause.

I don't find most comedians funny. Male or Female, but you'd be surprised how often a regular normal woman would make you laugh.

You're jumping to conclusions a bit there aren't ya?

I don't know, there aren't very many female comedians that I find funny. It's nothing against women, but I just don't find them very funny (with the exception of a few), and I don't see why it's sexist to hold this view.

Your avatar is almost as cool as mine. :p

OT: A lot of humor comes from relating to things, maybe you just don't relate to what the women are talking about. I find several women comedians funny, but their are less of them so I know more funny male comedians.

Women comedians are awful, the ones i've heard sound bitter feminist. That said most women have a different sense of humor than i.

okay i'll bite I watch a lot of standups and women standups are pretty loathsome due to the topics you pointed out. For me it's right up there with ethnic people only talking about ethnic things because they think it's very funny to be the stereotype talking about the stereotype while reinforcing the stereotype. But to be honest if you really watch a lot of standups you will realize that anybody that can break the norm of typical jokes IE: Women are so tricky, men are so sex craven, X people act like this!, Religions are soo loopy eh?, and the ever popular Children suck you will see some very funny comedians girl guy or otherwise.

But if you asked me who I thought has been the funniest comedians these last few years I would have to say that they are all guys. It's not that girls haven't made me laugh but. Something about female humor. it's not very flexible if you know what I mean. And then when it tries to meld with boyish humor it feels like they are trying to hard to be one of the guys. People really enjoy sarah silverman and if your into orge humor lisa lampnelli does a good job and if for some reason you like really bland humor ellen degeneres does standup nowadays so there's that.

Humor is very subjective and I don't frequent comedy clubs all night every night so it's prone to being bias but that's what I personally have been thinking on the subject.

There are few comedians I find entertaining. The only one I really enjoy is eddie izzard, which seems slightly appropriate for this thread since he's a transvestite...

Anyways, depends what women. Dunno what the average would be, but for me it's pretty 50/50. Some I know quite funny while others are as interesting as a painting of a brick. This goes for both genders though.

For me it is all the same. I like some male comedians, and some female. In my country, there are some pretty hilarious female ones. And no, I am not just saying that because I am a girl: the female comedians I am talking about don't even mention menopause, tea or anything girl-related. Could it be, though, that there are more male comedians than females, and the few that are in fact females, only make joke on men's expense and menopause?

I find that most female comedians talk about their ass and menopause.

It gets quite old.

Ok lol you make a good point. But i didn't say they only talk about periods and menopause and drink tea. I said thats how I feel when I watch it. Its vast exaggeration of how it truly is but I only ment it as a joke.

I always find "minority" stand up comedians really boring sometimes.
Like women always seem to do sexist jokes, and black people do racism jokes, just because the white males that seem to make the majority of stand up comedy wouldn't get away with jokes like that.

There are exceptions though, some of my favourite black and/or female comedians are the one's that don't feel the need to resort to cheap racism or sexism jokes.

My own opinion: No, most women aren't funny. There are those who are (my two best female friends being good examples of this), but most women seem to have studied "The Rules" too closely. You know, the whole "Don't talk until a man does"-sort of attitude.
On the subject of stand up comediennes, it's about the same as with men, half the time I laugh, half the time I don't.

EDIT:

Never have I ever heard any female standup comedian talk about either of those things.
