Baldur's Gate was a bad game, the story was good but as far as a game it was bad mechanics paired with a railroady dick DM. If you wanted to go off the map on a different route than what the story had planned you just got killed by an enemy that was far too powerful for you to deal with. It gave the illusion of freedom and a sandbox but in reality it was just a fairly accurate simulation of a bad tabletop RPG session, which is the reason the tabletop version of the hobby is in such decline.
Ya I didn't care for it much either. The ending was just terrible. They did improve the second though. I much prefered IceWind Dale to the BG series. I liked having my own party instead of a bunch of panty wastes that couldn't get along. Was that Bioware?

Honestly... Mass Effect 1. Once I got to the Citadel I was bogged down with so many sidequests I turned the game off and didn't pick it up again... But, for some reason I got ME2 and loved it.
Funny how I can complete jrpg's with all their useless minigames/sidequests but when Bioware puts too much into their game I have no patience... is that like a mental disease? Or am I just jrpg biased?

Neverwinter Nights isn't the weakest in my opinion. Sure, the OC sucked balls, as did the graphics engine, but the open-endedness of the game has provided me with hours upon hours upon hours of fun. The expansion packs, and some of the user-made campaigns, were brilliant. The combat was solid. Seemingly endless characterization and strategizing options were available.

But with Dragon Age they really dropped the ball. Incredibly long, boring and shamelessly derivative storyline. Bad combat system, that relied too much on puzzling out the scripting options to prevent your guys from doing retarded shit. I mentioned my seething hatred towards the lack of a stash (yes, this actually broke the game for me) on several occasions. Worthless DLC. And while it had some good music, I don't understand the fanboys fapping over that generic main theme (DUUUN DUUUN DUN DUN DUUUN), which tries too hard to sound epic and fails miserably. And goddamn, have they still not learned not to magically transport your weak-ass mage protagonist right in front of the enemy during cutscenes before a fight? Are they kidding?

I'm not saying it's a bad game. I actually plan to complete it someday, focusing my attention on its strong points. But it's easily their worst.

And I don't get the Jade Empire hatred. It was awesome. I'd kill for a sequel.

To me I would say none. I haven't found a BioWare game that I've played I didn't love. Sure to others out there Mass Effect or Dragon Age aren't enjoyable or good and it could be for many reasons; like it's not their type of game, something about the game bothered them and so on. There are games I hate that others rave about like Fable, LoZ:MM, LoZ:WW, and the Baten Kidos series. Everyone has differing taste and nit picks more or less then others. In an over all view point, no BioWare has never made a bad RGP, all of them have sold well and Sonic you can't really hold against them because at this point nothing can make a good Sonic game, not even BioWare.

I've loved all that I've played so far. Pretty much anything they put out is an automatic buy for me. They haven't let me down yet. Except for KOTOR2. It wasn't bad, but wasn't as good as the first. The first was legendary.

Knights of the Old Republic (the first one) was an interesting experiment, nothing more.

It's quite a horrid game, to be honest.
Ditto - though it did pique my interest enough to invest in DA.

I'm not sure on all of them, but I think the deal is Black Isle became Bioware, or at least there's a lot of dev overlap.

I was actually quite fond of Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance for the PS2 - was actually way better even though it was limited, took the best of Baldur's Gate and Diablo, and really did it from a video game PoV rathe than an older TTRPG PoV.

I disliked the Sonic game, it was just too childish.
I wanted to love Dragon Age, but it just didn't work out.
I tried playing Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate over Gametap a few years back and found they weren't my cup of tea.

However, I love the Mass Effect series, Jade Empire, KoTOR (The first one, not the bastard child of Obsidian), and hopefully The Old Republic turns out well.

Not to mention that with the name being Dragon Age I'd thought I'd see a dragon, you know, before 30 hours of game time (and no I don't count the little dreams or whatever)...
You do realize the name "Dragon Age" is actually referring to the Era of time in which you are a part of in the game, yes? It was never meant to literally mean you would be facing umpteen numbers of dragons. Though yes, most of them are in the Sacred Ashes storyline. But there is a reason for that, as well.
Yeah, and I thought I remembered hearing at one point that it was referred to the "Dragon Age" because that was when the dragons 'returned to the land'. I only saw 2 the entire game, but then again, the last 10 hours I ignored any form of side quest... Oh, and that was another thing... I had like 30 active quests and no clue where to go half the time...
There are at least 12-20 or more dragons in the entire game, including the drake spawns in the Sacred Ashes game, the smaller dragonlings, the High Dragon, Flemmeth in her High Dragon Form, and the Archdemon. Two shadow dragons as well, if you count Awakenings. Though the Era name itself came from the remembrance of the High Dragons and their pillage of the land centuries back, and their occasional re-emergence in Ferelden.

As for the quests, well.. most of them are pretty self-explanatory. Not sure what went wrong for you there.

The Sonic one was pretty bad...

Just for the record, I loved Jade Empire, but I'm biased because I love all things Chinese (except for their pop music, which is pretty terrible...)

I have only played both KoToR games, Mass Effect 1, Jade Empire, and Sonic Chronicles. The only two I didn't really enjoy was Mass Effect and Jade Empire. Tried many times to get into Mass Effect and just couldn't. Sonic on the other hand is a great game. I suggest picking it up for pretty cheap if you have a DS.

BG DA (completely different than the PC game I might add) was awesome (except again for the endings). It took me years to find a copy of #2. Only to have it end with another cliffhanger. Still bitter.

I hate morrowind. I hate Icewind Dale. I hate oblivion. I hate Dragon Age. I had mild distatse for the KoTR series, mainly because of the shitty ending. I liked Neverwinter Nights. I hated NWN 2. Love Mass Effect 1&2. Love the Baulders Gate Stuff.

It's all a matter of opinion really. so ... Go play all of them and form your own.
Morrowind and oblivion were from bethesda and I'm pretty sure Icewind dale was atari. KotOR 2 was from obsidian.
Icewind Dale was a Black Isle Studios game. KotOR 2 and NWN 2 were Obsidian games.
