Are there any video game with a female as the MAIN villain ?

I always considered the final boss of Persona 3 female and Persona 4's main villain is undoubtedly female. The main antagonist from Wild Arms 3 was a little girl .

Dragon Age Origins archdemon is the old god Urthemiel, goddess of beauty, so you could consider the archdemon a "she". Also, in Dragon Age 2 if you side with the Mage circle, the boss is female. To round it out, there's the Broodmother in Awakening. Sorry, didn't mean to cover just DA, was only going to mention part 2, but got thinking.

While the final boss of Dragon Age II is always the same female warrior regardless of your choices, the game as a whole has no main villian.

Fatal Frame 1-3 Are all centered around a few female ghosts (although you could argue that it wasn't really their fault).

True, but it is pretty well foreshadowed from the moment you walk into Kirkwall, that you're going to have to do something about this crazy person misusing the Templars and the Mages. Between her and the Qunari, they make Kirkwall one hellish place to live.

The only two I can think of that I've played are FF8 with Sorceress Ultimecia and Tomb Raider with Jacqueline Natla.

Part 1 of Blade Kitten, I guess, depending on who you said was the main villain. It's a bit unclear for most of the game, and presumably part 2 is going to explain all that, but the big contendors for being main villain in the first bit are women.

In Exile3 (presumable Avernum3 as well, but I've not played that), it's not obvious who is going to be the big villain, as you hints leading at 1 of 3 different people (or groups), a female mage, another female mage or a set of 3 monsters, one of whom was female.

There's also a female leader of a nation-state, but you find out she's not a villain by the time she gets to be important to the game.

That isn't entirely true. Depends on the choices you make.

Bioshock 2, System Shock 1 and 2, Portal, Female antagonists aren't as common but they aren't unheard of.

EDIT: Wait a tick, why would you even mention infamous in this thread? The boss is in no way female I don't even...

As for why the bad guy is usually male, I think in a lot of cases they could be female and have zero effect on the plot.

He said FF VIII, not FF VII. Just so you know. He's talking about Ultimicia.

I want to say Kerrigan was the main antagonist in Starcraft 2: Wings Of Liberty (as well as times in Brood War with the big "screw you all, I'm Queen ***** of the Universe" thing), but technically she's somewhat of an elaborate puppet. Still, she's pretty nasty.

On the other hand, she is essentially the primary antagonist of Brood War.

1) The first ending has Morag, Queen of the old ones and Arebeth and evil cleric chick that you fight.
2) Shadows of Undrentide: Heurodis- An Evil lich broad.
3) Hordes of the Underdark: The drow queen Valsharess, although she wasn't the ultimate, ultimate bad guy.
