My friend was suspended for a week just because he was wearing a long hoodie with several pockets and a hood that zipped up all the way. My dike of a principal searched the jacket, found his ipod, PSP, and cell phone, gave all that back and wrote him a DRF. She died a few months ago after 3 weeks of knowing she had cancer. Ha.

OT: That's stupid. Doesn't your school know what the hell acronyms are?
Was it Politically Correct Cancer.

someone i know just got sent home from school because his shirt "depicts inappropriate material"

he was wearing a t-shirt with the official FCUK logo, and a big FCUK on it.

....

the question is this...are we becoming too sensible to where something that innocent can be portrayed as something so bad? it definately seems like common sense and understanding is lost in todays society and we just throw the banhammer too easily at someone IN REAL LIFE.
Did they not point out that FCUK Stands for French Connection UK? Ive seen a lot worse

FECK - The Irish Connection, For example.

I'm not going to quote everyone who quoted me, so if you don't see this, sorry. I just don't understand why kids have to be edgy in school. It should be common sense not to wear something that will get you busted. Okay, so FCUK stands for French Connection UK (however that works, they are two different countries), but 95% of the population in America doesn't know that, including teachers. If you explain it to them, I'm sure they would be more than understanding, but it's still what the letters imply to damn near everyone that is the cause for concern.

I am far from a prude, I just don't get why kids these days go and advertise themselves with edgy shirts (whether they think so or not) and not expect to get in trouble.

In 8th Grade a kid walked up to me with his little clique (all laughing mind you, he probably did this just to impress his friends, the little prick) and socked me right in the face. Both of us were sent to the principle's office, and I got suspended because "there is no way it was unprovoked". Pissed me off royally that we both got the same sentence, and he was the douche that threw the punch.

EDIT: whoa, i rhymed clique and prick without even realizing it...

Well, in my time in the school, I've seen a girl expelled for accidentally stabbing a guy in the leg with a pencil (she was pretending to, and he lifted his leg at the wrong time) for "assault with a deadly weapon", and I've seen a good friend nearly get expelled for defending himself with a plunger after someone started to beat on him. Those were pretty pathetic.

What does FCUK stand for? Does a company REALLY have to have their logo FCUK? I mean, what the fcuk (Intended), it sounds like they're just another fail-company trying to look "cool" and appealing to dellusional "rebellious" teens. The kid wearing the shirt is probably an attention whore.

Schools do take things way over the top sometimes.

In their eyes, they're trying to eliminate any distractions from other children's learning. The first priority in any school should be the student's education. In the kid's eyes, it's simply not fair. Quite often it isn't, I'll admit, but there's usually a reason for the punishment. The problem then comes from refusing to reason things out - the kid snaps at the punishment, the teacher gets angry and things spiral out of control.

I live in the UK, and had to wear a uniform. As much as I hated it, I think it's a great thing because it stops people from being bullied for the way they dress (which we all know happens secondary school age). Clothing wasn't the issue at my school.

Our biggest issue was the fact our teachers believed they were better than us. Reasoning with them was impossible, because 'we are the adult and have more experience than a school kid. We have done the right thing, you will understand when you are older.' Biggest balony I have ever heard.

If you can't have holes in your clothes then where do your arms and head fit in your shirt?
