Are we ever optimistic about anything anymore?

I still see people talking about being excited for games that will come out, and happy for games that they've played and liked. (If you look through my previous posts you can see I've written about a lot of games that I've really enjoyed) So I'd definitely disagree with the whole of the gaming community being pessimistic/cynical.

I suppose the majority tone of the community may have drifted a little more to the cynical side, but I think some of the practices of the AAA Game Publishers have pushed the community there, and the cynicism is well deserved for the nickel-and-diming, DRM schemes that prevent legit customers from playing their games, and EULAs that deny customers rights.

Yes the gaming community is the most cynical community.
A shame cause I always try to remain optimistic about video games... the ones that WILL meet expectations I mean.
Ex. Being optimistic about an upcoming Capcom title over an Atlus title and you're looking at several forum posts of negativity in your future!

For real though, if the people in charge of making games, looking at you AAA industry, weren't batsh*t insane money whores who produce games like something out of an assembly line maybe we'd change from our strict negativity on everything and stay positive, have fun, come to appreciate quality products more... if they were actually quality.

I'm optimistic about Dragon Age: Inquisition. I'm really excited for that game, because it looks like the developers learned from their mistakes in DA II.
Oh, and Kingdom Hearts III too.
