In game, do you have a lot of things that are awesome, but never use, since it might be better to use it later... And then never use it?
Often/always? What's the most epic item you never use? Or maybe you have 2 917 big mana potions, but only use smaller ones?

Share your story, are you a compulsive saver?

Yes yes yes. I usually go "To hell with it!" Before the game is over. But for a good while it sits there. Like my Hyper Beam TM. I'm thinking Floatzel but what if Scizor needs it later....I named him Krauser.

Hell yeah! I save all my ammo on Fallout 3 and only ever use guns against Death Claws. And when it comes to the Fat Man, well that never gets used. And when I play RPGs I always have like fifty potions on me but I never use them because my regeneration rates are usually crazy because of the way I set up my stats.

Yes I hoard my items, it's a major problem for me. I've been that way since the Super Nintendo. Dungeon Fighter forced me to drop ballast and use all my health items, so it's been helping me loosen up.

Nope. I sell most the things I find. Why?
-I don't like cluttered menus
-I don't need 20 different weapons. I'll keep three or four on me and that's always more than enough.
-I can use the money from selling the weapons to buy things I really need (top notch equipment, healing supplies, ammo, etc)
-I don't like being close to my Burden/Item/Space limit if I can help it. I may find some valuable stuff to sell and not have the space for it.

I'm a hoarder, I'm also a miser and will eek the most out of every drop of resource.

I happily spent half an hour at extream range head shot-ing thugs in fallout - 1 bullet one thug picking off a camp without being seen

Partly for the lols - partly as hey why spray a full clip when I can do this with style

I also tend to end most RPGs with safehouse, storages, dump piles....you name it I proabbly have a stash and as I'm a miser I likely have most of it post BBEG

Oh, most definitely. For me, in no game is this more pronounced than World of Warcraft.

Multiple characters with maxed bankslots using the largest bags, all completely full of various miscellany. Holiday-specific items, transformation trinkets, funny hats, old tier gear...
Luckily Void Storage will fix a lot of this, and as a player from the very start, it's a very welcome addition. Very.

As a fan of stalker you have to be very choosey with what you carry... rifle, pistol, ammo and meds and food...

You just get used to being careful with what you carry.

Yep, the heavy weapon ammo usually, because whenever I use it, it feels like I wasted it. Examples are the FatMan from Fallout 3 or the M-920 Cain from Mass Effect 2.

I do, but I also use them if I know that I can get them back to the condition/quantity they were in beforehand, even if that method is difficult to do.

Like, I'll use my best weapons in, say, Fallout, but only because I know where to get the ammo for them and where to get them repaired.

One-time-use items though -- I don't use those.

I always save my rocket launcher rounds for the last Resident Evil boss. Always. And I always finish every RPG with a backpack full of potions. Most for stuff I don't even need.

As they say, it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

If there is loot, I want it. Especially if it is shiny.

Although if it is a bunch of junk I usually tend to have my runs to a shop to sell it all off.

Torchlight was a good example. I did always have those bigger potions I never used, but never got rid of them.

Thankfully, the newest game doesn't make TMs single-use.

Then again, it's a pain in the neck to get evolutionary stones, so I tend not to use them....Same deal.

Yep.

I think it's cos I used to play lots of old-school rpgs back in the day and would get myself into unwinnable positions all the time.

These days games are more balanced, and my ingrained habit of saving every last item (just in case) has become more of a hinderance than a help.

I'm the biggest hoarder for a reason. I hoard to 1)beef up my party B)to sell off for supplies i.e. meds and weapon boosters like gems or runes (aka attachments). Occasionally, there will be a weapon or piece of armor I want, but by the time I've allotted myself enough money, I usually have better equipment than what I'm looking to buy.

I'll always hold on to equipment for my party that they'll only be able to use in approaching levels. It rarely works out. Once again, I'll usually find better equipment for them by the time they reach that specific level. I could easily sell it off and buy it back, for a small loss on my end, if that equipment turns out to be better. However, I never want to feel like I got burned. I would rather hold onto it like a pack rat even though it takes up valuable inventory space.

If this was the stock market, I would never hit it big. I would just eek along making small gains.
