Yup. If an item is in limited supply (e.g. you can't buy, farm or duplicate them in game or through use of glitches) I usually end up not using them until the final boss. The only times I have actually used an elixir in Final Fantasy are in III and VII, which have item duplication bugs.

I'm constantly having issues with full inventories because of my serious pack rat tendencies. You just never know when you'll need that thing that you currently have!

Yes, in BioShock I had the Chemical Thrower, Crossbow, and Shotgun maxed with all ammo, and all Power to the People upgrades... never used. In Fallout 3, I never used the Alien Blaster... DAMN YOU LIMITED AMMO, I also never used the Gauss Rifle cuz you could only upgrade using Alien Epoxy or Vendors... just two examples of my hoarding.

I know that feeling. I keep finding in Final Fantasy, I have tons of those items that act as mid-level spells cluttering up my inventory, usually long after the point they cease to be useful. I just can't part with them. (Unless, of course, they sell for tons of money that can be used to buy more crap to fill my inventory with.)

Yes, and I always wind up regretting it. Once I get a super-awesome weapon, like the Alien Blaster from Fallout 3, I stashed it in my locker and forgot about it. Would've been useful if I brought it with me when I had to fight through a shit-load of Deathclaws in the Broken Steel DLC!!

I hold onto healing items like they're the last ones I'll ever see, and at times I forget I even have them. My friend was watching me play a Final Fantasy game and I had trouble beating a boss. At one point he saw my inventory and was like "Dude, you have 67 cures, just use a couple and this guy will be wiped out!"

No, and it can become a problem in my FIFA manager mode.

I sell pretty much all my bench players for more funds, keeping only enough to for one to extra to each position. If injuries strike, I'm pretty much screwed.

If I have something hilariously overpowered but rare (such as the Fatman from Fallout), I never use it. Otherwise I probably use everything equally. Exposives especially, I love blowing shit up.

I like to think of myself as more of a stockpiler, that might be the same thing but hey stockpiler sounds cooler to me.

I prefer to have a good supply on hand just in case, be it potions, first aid kids, food, ammo, ect, ect. I do however tend to offload items that exist only to be sold fairly fast, though I'll hang on to one or two of the more valuable ones if I'm not hurting for cash at the moment.
I got into this habit after finding myself in situations where someone or something has beaten me to the point of resembling ground beef and currently has me backed into a corner.
Yeah I was more or less on a first name basis with the game over screen until I started slowing down and actually preparing for whatever is up ahead.

Uh... captcha? What the heck is a dorlder and how is it endangered?

I have played eight of the thirteen Final Fantasies.

I have never once used an Elixer.
Damn, that's impressive! Although that doesn't take into account the myriad of side games that also feature Elixirs, but still!

Heavy ammo. In any game. I never use it except in boss fights, or in the final level. No matter how much more I find and can't carry, I just keep saving. I can't help it.

I do have a habit of hording around as much as can carry, either saving something to sell at the next town, or saving something that I can upgrade, or a weapon I can't use yet, but keep with me until I can anyway, yes I pretty much lug around whatever my inventory will permit.

I had the worst issues with the first Mass Effect just because you'd get multiples of the same gun mods, and then each of those mods would have multiples of various strength levels. So I'd have TONS of mods cluttering up my inventory, and I just could not get rid of them. What if I wanted Kaiden to have fire bullets? But then what if I wanted Garrus to have fire bullets too, but Kaiden had the best fire bullets mod, and I had to save the second best one to give to Garrus? But then what if *I* wanted fire bullets too, so then I'd need three strength levels of fire bullets so we can all have fire bullets together. And I need multiple magazine size mods because everyone should have more bullets, right?

It got to the point where every time I picked up a new item, it said my inventory was full, and my boyfriend made me go through and turn 95% of it into omnigel. :(

Yup, I'm a hoarder. I like the look of having the maximum amount of something in my inventory. Those elixirs and ethers you get early on? Never going to be used. Ever.

Yup, I'm a total hoarder. In RPGs like Mass Effect and Oblivion, I have to painstakingly choose which items to sell/drop. In shooters with the 2 weapon limit, it's just as bad. :p

I try to fight it though. I think to myself; am I ever really going to use this weapon/item/etc? After a few seconds I realize it's worthless to me and I get rid of it.

Yes, in any Elder Scroll or recent Fallout game I always have a place to dump every single thing I find, I hate selling things and when my inventory is full I spend way too much time deciding what to drop, sometimes I keep things around just because they look cool, despite the fact that it may be worthless or I'll never use it again.

I actually crashed my Morrowind, I was moving all my loot to another place, so I picked it all up and the game just said "nope".

I save and horde nearly EVERYTHING, or at least as much as I can possibly carry. And everything MUST be organized. Resident Evil is like torture to me.
To quote Katie Tiedrich, of Awkward Zombie fame, "I play videogames less to defeat Bad Guys and more to sell garbage for currency I refuse to spend."

Yes yes yes. I usually go "To hell with it!" Before the game is over. But for a good while it sits there. Like my Hyper Beam TM. I'm thinking Floatzel but what if Scizor needs it later....I named him Krauser.
This is why I like White.
In the other Pokemon games I'm unwilling to use any TMs because I might need it later, but since Black/Whites TM are re-usable I don't have that problem. The problem then is holding myself back.

I grew up on Sierra adventure games.

...I really think that's all that needs to be said. :p

EDIT: HERPADERP! This is why it pays to read the first post. >_>

It really all depends on the game and the items. I stock up on as many "useful" items as I can (for example, you can never have enough pistol clips in Deus Ex HR) while abandoning what I don't really use, but other games without inventory concerns... I just don't pay attention.

Heh, I just finished a Fallout New Vegas playthrough last week. Throughout the 140+ I spent on it, I carried a Hunting Shotgun on me for probably 110+ hours of it, but only actually used it a few times. For close quarters combat, the 12.7mm submachinegun was just too good.

Dragon Age Origins was also horrific for hoarders because of all the armor sets that had similar, but slightly different stats.

And of course, in Elder Scrolls games, where you fill your entire home with a massive collection of glass and ebony weapons and armor, but never actually use any of it because you're too busy nuking things with spells.
