I'm actually quite bad at gaming. Except for most PC shooters, I used to be and still am pretty good at those.

I'd say yes.

I've spent more than 2000 hours playing Team Fortress 2, so all the practice has pretty much made me a living god in most FPS games.

Nope.

In fact, I quite literally cannot think of a single game I'm good at.

Always nice to see someone else who's actually played that. Again, I barely managed to stagger through it, but it's a fantastic game.

Here is a basic question; Have you won money playing games? Have you won a trip anywhere? Have you won computers, etc?

If you responded yes, then you are good, if you responded no then you are probably (99.9999%) mediocre at best.

The only game that I can say, without a doubt, that I am fantastic at is Crazy Taxi. Aquiring the Crazy Licence on the Dreamcast was easy...but I can't seem to do it on XBLA. Any other game that I play on a regular basis (Pokemon B&W, CoD:BO, Just Cause 2, Fallout, Elder Scrolls 4, just to name a few) shows that I am a normal to mediocre gamer at best. Definitely not bad, but definitely not the greatest.

I'm awful at FPS'es, but I have a fairly good K/D at Uncharted 2, and I consider myself to be quite good at RTS games.

Some games. I beat Uncharted 2 on crushing and I'm almost done Mass Effect 2 on insanity. In online games my skill level drastically varies. Also, I find it strange that I'm quite good at Cod 4 but not very good at Black Ops.

Depends on the type of game. I'm horrible at some games, but good at others. When I play fighting games with friends I always get slaughtered, but when we switch to shooters I steamroller them. Online as well. When it comes to singleplayer games it depends on whether or not I take the time to familiarize myself with all the game options. If I like a game and its options, I tend to be better at it.

It depends entirely on the game in question (of course not the genre you silly person)

I've beaten Halo, 3 and, Reach on Legendary but ODST and, 2 on Heroic which would still count as pretty good for shooters (on the console) but Duke Nukem 3D? Half-Life 2? Had to play those on Easy. Racing games? I suck at those HOWEVER nobody can beat me on Burnout or arcade classics like the Rush series (where have those been?) I've also kicked a lot of Expert Ass on Guitar Heroes 1-6 (well, more or less) but I'm a solid normal (some hard) on Rock Band. Go figure.

I consider myself good at gaming to put it simply but I know my limitations and know where I'm not good. Like fighting games...stupid, stupid fighting games (except SSBM and, SSB clones like Punchtime Explosion and, JUMP Ultimate Stars)

I tend to be good at most games i play, in all honesty I am absolutely fantastic at FPS games especially halo, sadly though i suck big time at RTS games which is a genre i actually like more than FPS
also i suck at WoW even though i really like it

I consider myself to be pretty good, but I've always had a bad habit of getting way to into micro for my own good. Focus like that is great in CS:S but not so much in Kanes Wrath.

On the other hand i can and have spent hours building the most elaborate fortifications i can in Company of Heroes. Until the AI gets his trollface on and breaks out the "nothing but armour" strategy.

I'm pretty proud that I got through GoW on hard the first time I tried it. Still, I've never been much of an FPS player, but most other games I'm pretty good at.

Personally, I like to play games for fun and to accomplish challenges (depends on the game). I'm not considered one of those "hardcore" gamers who are experts at a type of genre or game series. If I'm an expert or talented at anything it's because I've played a game/genre casually enough to get the hang of it and make that game/genre my own.

Competitively, I probably wouldn't stand a change against others who are true champions. Against non-champions, I'm sure I can hold my own, but only if I'm familiar with the game/genre.

I have completed Devil May Cry on Dante Must Die mode without dying. That gets mentioned a lot.
I've done F3 and Oblivion without breaking a sweat.
I've got through nearly every JRPG i've played on hard modes with little trouble.
i have a friend whose only difference from these things are that he died on DMC DMD.
also he's only 15.

Being good at games is a bit of a weird classification. Different genres have totally different gameplay so you can rule one but suck at another. Personally, I'm good with RPG's and ok at racers but terrible at FPS'.

I'm not, I just played Portal for the first time the other day and it took me 9 hours to beat it. I had read that people beat it in 3 hours on their first playthrough. I guess I am just not as good as some people but I don't really care because I enjoyed those 9 hours.

I'm 21 and I've been gaming since I was 6. I have the Crest of Hyrule tattooed on my back and I donno where I'd be without games. However, that doesn't mean I'm a particularly good gamer.
I've played through Mass Effect 2 several times on normal difficulty, but on hardcore? No no no no. Y'know the part, half way through, where you make your way into the supposedly dead Reaper and get ambushed by a load of Collectors on platforms? Can't do it, nope, not a chance.

My point is, for all of the love you have for games, are you actually good at Halo, DIRT, CoD, God Of War or Portal?
Sure, we all have our strengths. For example, it's a scientific fact that I am unbeatable at Crash Team Racing, but I am rubbish at almost all first and third person shooters, even though I play them quite a lot.

So, gamers, what games do you suck at, even if you love them and play them often?
To be honest. I'm a beast when it comes to Hack n' Slash games and Fighters such as:

Ninja Gaiden
Devil May Cry Series
God of War
Marvel vs Capcom
Street Fighter

I'm great at 3rd person shooters, platformers, action/adventure or racing games such as:

Metal Gear Solid Series or Metal Gear Online
Ratchet and Clank Series
Vanquish
Assassin's Creed
Sonic the Hedgehog
Shadow of the Colossus
Any Mario Game
Megaman

I'm mediocre and even a bit crappy at First Person Shooters such as:

Call of Duty
Killzone
Battlefield series
Call of Cthulhu

Im pretty good at most games. My strong suites are FPSs and RPGs. RPGs to the point where I'm utterly confused when my friends ask me where to find more stimpacks in Fallout because they ran out. I play with a mod for New Vegas (Project Nevada) that makes the game a lot more realistic/harder (for example, you don't gain HP as you level). I'm level 26, and I've only used 5 stimpacks o_O
For FPSs, I'm really good at Halo and Alliance of Valliant Arms, having a k/d of about 1.8-2 in both of them. In newer Cods I'm only about .95, but in 4 I think I'm somewhere around 1.5. Of course, I tend to blame that on how imbalanced the game is more than anything else :p

I'm pretty good at Street Fighter I think...I came 4th in a tournament once...
I'm trying to get better at TF2 right now, I'm rusty and keep getting counter sniped...annoying.
I think I'm also good at hack n slash games like DMC and Ninja Gaiden...or maybe I'm not I don't have much to compare it to.
