I am... okay at video games.

Except FPS, I don't play enough of them/care enough to play enough to see how good I could get. That being said, I'd probably be mediocre at them.

Twitch-y games are games I'm just not good at, stuff like StarCraft... I'm probably a bit better than okay. ;-)

Let's just say I can kick most people's ass from here to mount Doom (except in starcraft) But The AI can kick mine just as far

I have a higher than usual starting skill for most games. Me and some average joe on a random game neither of us heard about without any directions or other types of information other than what the game allows of us. I generally have a leading start for no particular reason other than I assimilate information from the game quicker.
I know some of the odds and ends of older games that encourage me to try less-than-usual things to prompt skills or techniques not immediately recognized with a manual.

Recently, call it old-age, my skill cap has fallen behind the youth-groups of today. My dexterity seems to have suffered for no particular reason, my APM has dropped. I'm not quite sure if it's a lack of practice, excitement or maybe a medical condition is surfacing.
I definitely don't compete hardcore.

it would depend on the game. I can say that Im fairly competent at most any game I pick up after a time, but Im no expert.

well my ability to hate consoles yet when I play on them at a friend?s house I can still dominate them completely makes me think that I am pretty good but what makes it more so is that I have beaten teams who play the game for money but I am to young too but when I do turn 18 I think I might play tf2 or the next of its kind competitively.

I'm terrible at first person shooters, but give me anything else. A platformer, rpg, action adventure, driving, and I'll have it down in few hours. But FPS give me motion sickness so I have little experience with them.

But, really, if you want to know if you're good at video games. Play Super Ghouls and Ghosts for the SNES. That game was intentionally made to be sadistically hard. Most young... ahem... "gamers" I've met can't get past the first level for rage quitting. I admit, I've never beat it either. I've never met anyone in person who has. But I've gotten far enough to be proud of my skills.

I'm 17 and been playing games for about 3 years. I'm pretty good at them call Of duty games. But I don't think that counts. SO I'd call myself average.

Start me playing Spyro or the First Harry Potter game and I'm deadly. Most current games however I'll beat, ya, but not in an impressive fashion.

I can adapt pretty quickly to games that I play, however it's kind of a case of 'Jack Of All Trades, Master Of None' as I only get great at a game and I can never get AWESOME.

Also, never completed an RPG. I just find them a bit too long-winded.

So, yeah I don't really know if that makes me good at gaming.

I held rank 1 for a week in WoW arenas, BG9, s2. I haven't been playing as much since then, but I remain 2.4kish rated. I'm fairly good at frost mage and ret paladin.

I'd say I'm pretty good, the achievement I'm most proud of is finishing Metroid Fusion on the GBA in less than 3 hours and %95 of the equipment collected. Bikini Samus FTW! I'm an above average FPS gamer. On the other hand, I am terrible at Madden NFl and the EA NHL games. I buy a new one every 2 years, and usually get my shit rocked online on a regular basis. But I really enjoy playing those games, maybe it's the sports fan in me.

I'm not amazing. Especially with games that require rhythm/combos/reflexes. As in most games. But for some reason, I'm pretty good at CoD2 MP. (At least, when I'm playing with friends. Online? Hell. Fucking. No.)

Honestly, not really. I don't think I'm that good. The game I'm the best at would probably be the SSB series, and I'm not all that great at that either

I'm not good, but I'm not bad. I'm pretty average when it comes to skill. I mean, on CoD, I can average about 2 K/D ratio. Maybe less, depends.
But give me Left 4 Dead 2 and I die. Instantly. All the time.

Since I very rarely play games for their challenge, I definitely don't really consider myself great by any stretch of the imagination; heck, I'm probably a bit reluctant to even call myself "good", "decent", and possibly even "competent". Most games I turn down the difficulty to easy because I wish to avoid the frustrations of playing on harder difficulties and just want to enjoy the story. In the rare cases where I do get into multiplayer games, I usually do horribly and have a bad tendency to leave myself open to a wide variety of basic tactics.

However, this is not really a complete lack of skill on my part; it's just a lack of interest. I play games either to just enjoy their story or because they're just plain fun to play, not to overcome the challenges nor to "defeat" the game. In fact, I usually don't give a damn about winning at anything or completing something just to say I've done it. If I'm not having fun playing a game, I just stop playing it regardless of how far along I am.

Actually, I've managed to surprise myself on several occassions and end up being better at a game than I thought. Nothing spectacular of course, but sometimes my preferrence for experimentation and atypical playstyles yields some unexpectedly good results. When the normal approach doesn't work, that's usually when I can get the chance to demonstrate what I'm really capable of; it's problem-solving really.

But most of the time, I just don't care enough to bother even trying to be "good" at games. I either play them for fun or for their story, not because I enjoy overcoming a challenge.

I am terrible in multiplayer games most of the time. There are only few very specific examples:
Battlefield:Excellent Sniper
Red Dead Redemption: Demolitions expert (A fun one :D)
Team Fortress 2:popping heads like they were peelz from across the map and a great Spy.
Halo:I am an excellent tank. That is to say, I will charge in carrying a machine gun turret and clear out the room.

I am usually mediocre-decent on single player though and I've been playing videogames since I was 5.
