I'm 21 and I've been gaming since I was 6. I have the Crest of Hyrule tattooed on my back and I donno where I'd be without games. However, that doesn't mean I'm a particularly good gamer.
I've played through Mass Effect 2 several times on normal difficulty, but on hardcore? No no no no. Y'know the part, half way through, where you make your way into the supposedly dead Reaper and get ambushed by a load of Collectors on platforms? Can't do it, nope, not a chance.

My point is, for all of the love you have for games, are you actually good at Halo, DIRT, CoD, God Of War or Portal?
Sure, we all have our strengths. For example, it's a scientific fact that I am unbeatable at Crash Team Racing, but I am rubbish at almost all first and third person shooters, even though I play them quite a lot.

So, gamers, what games do you suck at, even if you love them and play them often?
Well, I did kinda win 200 GBP (team won 1000) in a COD 4 tournament a few years ago...

Kinda good all genres around(not counting sport, fuck sport!). But usually in the top 5 of the games I play when it´s an FPS game. Oh yeah, stealth games I suck at also, never seem to be patient enough to learn the pattern of NPC's so save/load tactic is what I use instead ._.

3:1 k/d ratio in first MW which I was stoked about, but I sucked at Battlefield 2. Haven't played any multiplayer since 2009. So I concentrate on going through FPSs on second hardest difficulty. Hardest is too much of a chore and I don't get any enjoyment from that. Only got time to play through games once or twice. I'm good at not making the same mistake twice in games and saving often :)

I like to think that I'm a pretty good all around gamer. I'm decent at FPSs and really good at Halo, I'm good at arcade racers, rpgs, arcade games, platformers, action-adventure games, decent at puzzle games and I can hold my own in online fighting games.

Out of the examples of games the OP listed
Halo - soloed on legendary with ease, do pretty well in MP
CoD - finished all on hardest, got far in zombies and do well in MP
Never played god of war
Portal - finished both, did advanced chambers, pretty much solved the co-op puzzles myself

Also finish pretty much all my games on the highest difficulties with a few exceptions (WET because I already had to play each level like 7 times each and AvP human on nightmare because it's a boring campaign after the first level)

Yeah I'd say I do pretty well in games.

Kinda need to since my biggest pet peeve in games is when people can be the highest level/rank and are terrible or just don't know anything about the game they spent days playing to level up.

I'm pretty bad at most games and really horrible at platformers.

I just don't get the jumping from one thing to another, if in any game there is a hole. I will manage to fall in it.

Difficult to say. Most of my time gaming is spent in single player modes, or playing on my own, so I can't really measure it too well, and compare it with how other people do. I can beat most games, given time, on their hardest difficulties, and get the majority of the achievements on offer. When I'm online, I suppose I'm fairly average.

I can do well enough for myself. This is better than some, worse than others.

I'm quite good at games such as Fallout and Borderlands but I'm absolutely crap at driving games...

Sometimes, one I can walk around in halo reach matchmaking, getting tons sprees and multikills, the next I just can't survive for more than a couple of seconds.
Against the AI though, with a little patience, I can beat it any day.

"They tell me I'm as useless as a stripper with no booty, my friend I'm inclined to agree, because I suck at Call of Duty"

That song sums me up well :)

I'm not great, about 32,000 points on my xbox account, not obtained from skill but rather playing a LOT of games, badly! :) I do enjoy them so I will doggedly stick to them and beat them though. Online gaming is often a dying simulator for me!

I've played FPS for ages, and currently trouncing on CoD, were I hold a 4.7KD just messing around.
In RPG games I usually do good (better in Oblivion that Fallout, took me only 2 days to beat Oblivion in hardest).
I'm a competent racer, last game I played was GT5: prologue, which I hated (after getting to rank A races (too boring), and before that NFS:MW, which I bet easily)
I'm learning how to play DoTA-esque games, I'd call myself mediocre at it.
Good/Great at Strategy games.
Mediocre at rhythm games (rockband)
I got 'Singstar' once in said game.
Overall I'd say I'm a talented gamer, with a strength in FPS.

I'm slightly above average at FPS games and racing games. I have my moments where I do awesome, but doesn't everyone? Outside of those two styles of game I range from below average to "Dude, you should just uninstall the game" level.
But, I enjoy almost every game I play. Including the ones I'm awful at. Like Starcraft, where I'm pretty sure I hold a record for fastest time to be completely annihilated.
For some reason when I'm between the states of slightly drunk and rather drunk, my skill level at most games seems to increase tenfold. (for those wondering, that's somewhere between 3 and 6 shots of whisky).
Getting a marksman headshot worth ~150 points (+kill and headshot points on top of that) in BC2 when the screen is looking kind of wobbly is one of my greatest achievements to date. It was one of those beautiful drag shots. the kind where you just drag your aim across and fire when it feels right.

Play to enjoy, mostly. Sometimes turns a bit obsessive - just about finished a no-slow run of FEAR. Only 'good' at older FPSs though but in the global scale of skill, probably pretty shit.

Would play online, but being a mute doesn't go over well with others, and the attitude of many onliners is disrespectful, elitist, arrogant and humourless, if not screechily underage.

I'm good at platform games and puzzles and do well at stuff like Zelda and racing games. I'm not good at shooters or strategy.

I'm proud to say I suck at gaming. I never get high scores, usually the first one to get killed in any multi-player game, etc. I don't spend a lot of time playing computer games, it's a waste of life. I'd rather use my computer to enhance my ability to learn something, ie, right now I'm learning the guitar, tons of helpful sites and videos out there. I figure within 2-4 years I should be pretty good at it. Or I could spend 2-4 years on the Call of Duty series and be the best Sniper for a computer game....

I'll stick with the guitar.

i'm pretty good at most the games i've invested time in. not to good with fps/third person shooters on consoles tho, but that's mostly because i don't play to much console and my aim is crap. (i still do ok tho, atleast the cod games when i tryed them on xbox since i've plyed the shit out of them on pc and map knowledge helps a lot.)

i'm not good at games i havent played a lot of though, such as driving games. (unless it's CTR, mario kart or diddy kong racing :p)

I suck at Black Ops multiplayer, on the PS3. Yet I am decent at Team Fortress 2 on the PC. And I'm not much of a PC gamer (can't get past the first dungeon in Daggerfall).
