I read a few times about how people are boycotting activision and I wanted to start a survey of the escapist to see how many escapist members are doing that.

Edit: not another broken poll, the escapist really needs to fix this issue.

Edit edit: boycotting is not buying their games, you can still like their games but you stopped buying from them because of their business practices.

I'm not exactly boycotting it, I just don't buy their games because I'm rarely interested in their games. I'm more of a Square Enix guy myself when it comes to publishers.

I've been boycotting Activision since before I knew they were evil.
I've been boycotting them because they're games suck

Why should I be boycotting Activision? If they have a game I don't want to buy I don't buy it, the same with all other publishers.

I don't buy they're games mainly because they stink. But perhaps my plan to kill the career of Darth Kotick will help them.

I don't agree personally with Activision, they killed two great series. Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk. Why? Because they decide to cash-cow all our beloved games by releasing new unfinished titles and expansions every 6-12 months.

I'm glad that Blizzard is telling Activision to take a hike and stay out of their business, I don't want to see an expansion for Starcraft 2 coming out every single year to kill the franchise.

Not really, why?

Sure they have horrid games like the Call of Duty series, but that's more a fault of their fans. Hell, the recent stuff from EA has offended me far worse that anything I've seen out of Activision.

I was never really into Activision to begin with. The only series that I constantly bought from them was Call of Duty, but Im not very interested in that series any more ever since Call of Duty 4 perfected the military shooter. (MW2 and Black Ops seemed like failed attempts to recreate its awesomeness)

By just pretending it's nearly as bad as the feeling I get when I *KNOW* something is made from child labour is made but I still like feel the urge of getting their products because they are so awesome. ....I nearly took myself serious on my own writing.... must lay down and take aspirin or something.

Yep. It helps that I'm legitimately not even interested in any of their games, but I'm not buying anything Activision.

That's Ubisoft, both in developer and publisher.

I agree with Calcium and to be perfectly honest i can't think of anything to add to it as it's been said for me.

Ubisoft makes Ass Creed.

OT: Depends on what you mean by boycott. I don't buy their games, but it's not because Activison makes them. It's because they don't interest me.

I can't boycott them because DJ Hero 2 is too much damn fun and I bought it.
Not that I would boycott anyway, it's a rather empty gesture where the publisher of those damnable multi-million-sales-generating COD and MW games are involved.

And why a boycott, anyway? What's the particular justification of this? I mean, we all know Activision is trying their damndest to make EA look like utter saints, but really, where is this coming from?

Ubisoft makes Ass Creed.
Whoops, how'd I cock that up? Likely because I've been blinded by how bad I found Ass Creed 2, and somehow associated it to the considered bad boy of the gaming industry.

Or perhaps I have deeper hidden psychological reasons that prevent me from recognizing Ubisoft as a game company. Though why, I would not know.

Edited appropriately.

...honestly, as evil as they are, if they actually publish a game I want (har har), I'll probably buy it... long after release, used, from a small games shop. I treat EA the same way... but they actually still release games I enjoy regularly. ;)

I'm not intentionally boycotting Activision, they just don't publish any games I'm interested in.

When they cancelled True Crime, they cancelled their only game that I would have bought, so I'm only "boycotting" them in the same way I'm "boycotting" space travel, panty-liners, afro-combs and wheelchairs.
