I liked it for a while. The campaign was right good fun, it was. Yeah, I played it on Recruit, but I still enjoyed it.
The multiplayer was really fun, which is saying a lot seeing as I'm pretty bad and spend a lot of time mashing X to respawn.
But then it seemed one day everyone found the AK74u. That day was the day I came crawling back to Team Fortress 2. You may have a buttload of unbalanced weapons now, TF2, but at least I'm not being killed by the same one over and over again.

Yes I'm enjoying it. Easily the best CoD I've played since the first MW.
I'd recommend it only if your a fan of the franchise and/or you have friends to play with. I'd say try to find it cheap.

I actually enjoyed the game far more than I thought I would. The new wager matches offer something slightly different.
However, I noticed you mentioned you were also considering Mass Effect 2? If so, I'd say pick that up. No MP, but SP has more to offer than Black Ops.

Honestly, not entirely sure which lag you mean, because the only thing to ever fuck up my score was the game freeze-framing for a second. And to say that happened often would be lying.
The random disconnects are annoying though.
If you care even slightly for single player I'd recommend not getting it. I found it downright unenjoyable to play and I feel sad that I asked my parents to get me it for christmas, I'd rather have got new socks.

I understand my laptop isn't the greatest gaming platform but it runs MW2 FINE and also I noticed MW2 also LOOKS BETTER. Played the single player, I realized then that it was the same cliches as every other new fps. OH NOE DEM COMMIES GON NUKE US, LETS LET A GUY WHO WAS CRAZY FIVE MINUTES AGO FLY A HELICOPTER. It's also the first game to make me feel sorry for the Nazis, but not the main character. It was quite a waste of money.
It's better then Modern Warfare 2 to me, but multi-player wise, I will always love Battlefield more.
It IS expensive, but my bro got it for me as a Christmas gift.
As it I like it as it's basically all the new stuff of MW2 yet taking out all the bullshit that the series has accumulated and is really represented as worse in MW2.
No more game ending nukes
No more killstreaks earning more killstreaks
No more Juggernaut or Stopping power (balance, yay)
No more ridiculously overpowered secondary weapons like the Raffica.
Though I will add that the knifing on Black Ops is insane, like everyone has commando-pro. But it's an equal advantage, knifing is so important now I've bound it to M2 (right click).

$60 for black ops vs $30 Demon's Souls + $20 Mass Effect 2
not that black ops is a bad game by any stretch; but if you are interested in those 2 it's very hard to recommend
