People play consoles online? I've touched online once and it was horrible.

Not really. I don't have much loyalty to consoles themselves, to me the only thing that matters is the games.
However Sonys attitude is fucking disgusting. The way they have treated their customers for years has pissed me off and I really am cheering for the hackers every time they take another jab at Sony.
How have they treated their customers the past few years? I haven't seen any "fucking disgusting" attitude. I haven't noticed anything negative, but then again I don't use the PSN so maybe it doesn't affect me.

However, I am completely clueless as to why you are cheering for hackers who are stealing people's personal and credit information, but whatever.

So here's the debate I've been going over for a while, Have you decided to change Consoles recently and why?

What inspired me to write this topic is the Extra Credits episode Here. [] I was a Sony PlayStation Fan girl to the core, From PS1 to PS2, I stayed true. I refused to buy an Xbox, Wii, GameCube, or any other console system, ((handheld devices not included in the argument)). But when the PS3 came out, I faltered. I did not have enough money to buy such an expensive piece of hardware. Too expensive, too costly, and since I was still in school I had a severe lack of money.

So for a time all I did was just leech the Ps2 titles until they became near nonexistent. My friends around me bought Xbox's and next thing I knew I was sucked into the Microsoft world. The multiple games and the industry, and the over all crowd that just seemed to overwhelm the Sony fan base. So I broke down, Bought an Xbox before, swearing I'd get a PS3 when I could afford one. That was before the PSN hacking, before Sony really had such trouble in my eyes relaying to it's customers the problems it had with the hacking, and just Sony's latent over all arrogance and how the company has treated it fan base and customers. This is Not the Sony I knew and loved. and with that alienation I don't know if I can return. So I make the switch, from PlayStation to Xbox. What's you're reason? What's your console old or new?
not the sony you knew? sony has always been a business. corporations dont care about you, they care about money. the only difference has been that giving gamers what they wanted, meant making more money, but dont kid yourself, protecting their own interests has always been priority number 1.

i got a ps2 for ddr and have been loyal to them ever since. i will not be making a switch. this psn thing hasnt affected me at all. there have been no mysterious charges to my credit card and the network being down has not changed anything for me. i use the psn to download demos and trailers, thats it. once in a blue moon i might get dlc but i dont game online and was still able to use netflix, even with the network being down. sony could get rid of the playstation network and it wouldnt bother me one bit. i dont feel they owe me anything so if they want to make sure they are financially secure before thinking about what to give back to customers, thats cool with me. whatever they have to do to stay in the business because honestly, if sony werent in the picture i think id be done with console gaming. i cannot think of a single game on the wii or 360 that i have even the slightest desire to play

Hard to switch when I have one of everything.

Though PS3's recent fiasco, as hilarious as it is, has made me question my 'Buy it on PS3 if I have a choice' policy. Will probably be buying all my multi-platform games on 360 from now on.

For this generation, I am stuck with the PS3 that I have. But I am not getting a Sony console in the next generation, if they do release one. The way they handled the initial release (yes, I regrettably own a day one PS3) and moreso the way they handled the recent data leak has left a very bad taste in my wallet's mouth. I am no good with metaphors, and because of this, Sony have lost a customer.

This generation I have had 4 360s die on me, 3 PS3s die on me and a Wii that I hardly ever touch.
None of the exclusives really seem to warrant the ownership of a console, that and there's a vastly higher quantity of complete tools online.

I'm sticking with PC mainly because I have well over 200 games for it, and I never need to worry about finding the right disk.

I own a Xbox 360, had a PS1 and PS2 and I bought my girlfriend a PS3 but I'm a PC gamer at heart and really only play my Xbox for games like Red Dead Redemption, GTA games and a small collection of racers(Because racing is just better on a console)

Since I own PS3 and 360 and do PC gaming along with handhelds il say this.

I cant switch or think of stuff like that I enjoy gaming fully but I am not afraid to say faults in systems and bash on em some since lets face it all game consoles have some shit we can ***** about. The main reason I dont have or want a wii is I hate motion controls.

I still play all my older game consoles.

I started with a Wii this generation (upgraded from my GCN) then got a PS3 (to follow up on the PS2).

However, now I consider myself primarily a PC gamer. I still play my consoles but no where near as much as I used to.

I went from PS1, to PS2, and then to Xbox. Most of this was because of games that I had at the time (Crash Bandicoot/Spyro on PS1, then ATV Offroad Fury/Ratchet & Clank on PS2, Kotor/Madden on Xbox). I went with a PS3 for this generation because I like Sony (I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm a fanboy, but in my experience Sony has made great products.). The whole PSN debacle didn't deter me, in fact my PS3 recently crapped out on me after 4 years and I ordered a new one.

I was always a Nintendo console nerd, myself. I owned the NES, SNES, N64, Gameboy and played quite a bit of my brother's Gamecube. Now, however, I own both a 360 and a PS3 and have never spent a considerable amount of time on the Wii except for playing the stock Wii Sports, Mario Soccer (I don't remember the real name of the game so that'll have to do), Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart at my buddy's place. Go figure.

I still haven't completely switched from the PS2 to the PS3. Most of the console games I play are still PS2 titles (albeit on my first-generation PS3).

That said, I'm a geek who grew up in the 90s. As such, I have a deep-seated mistrust (borderline hatred, really) for Microsoft. I could never bring myself to buy hardware designed by any part of that corporation. If it was given to me, I'd make sure it boots up and then sell it on craigslist.

I had been a Sony user for two generations until they decided to price their console at 600$, and I was given an old 360 as a gift. While I have a lot of problems with it, it has given me some good times.
