i'm not disagreeing with you that people are free to use every advantage aside from glitching to win. i just disagree with the sentiment that if you don't for whatever reason, you are by default pants-on-head retarded. i frequently handicap myself on some games, because it makes them that much more fun.

Basically? Every time the whiners use it effectively, it being a technique or weapon in multiplayer, it's them being smart and ingenious, but every time you use it, it's cheap and noobish. It's called a double standard, and those that use this particular one I have absolutely nothing but contempt for.

Seriously, just play the game. Use whatever strategies you want so long as you're not using cheats, hacks, or something that gives you an unfair advantage. Save the whining for later, or never.

That's different. In online multiplayer, like Call of Duty 4 or Halo, everyone's equal. In MTG, what's in your deck is more important than the strategy you use most of the time. You have to use the best of the best cards if you want to win. However, some cards are more unbalanced, or 'broken', than others, and that's something almost everyone agrees upon. Hence why Black Lotus is banned. Hence why the Moxes are banned. Hence why over-using Tarmogoyf is considered cheap.

People constantly say that martyrdom or Grenade launchers are cheap in CoD 4. Or that the Rocket launcher is noobish in Halo 3.

Only one of those that is really nooby is martyrdom. Seriously, it's annoying as hell to everyone else and requires no skill to use since it's automated.

In halo 3, I find it funny when people say that when I'm using melee attacks (Assault rifle and sniper for example) that I am a horrible noob. Don't get it.

Most of the people that have posted in this thread are reinforcing my opinion that most escapist users can't actually play games very well.

Some weapons are "n00b" weapons. A n00b weapon is any weapon that requires little or no skill to use, but yields impressive results. n00b weapons are generally one-shot-kill weapons that have a very long reload or limited ammo to "balance" them.

Examples of n00b weapons are the Grenade Launcher in CoD4, the Rocket Launcher in Halo and the Panzerfaust in WolfET.

In my opinion, using n00b weapons is generally bad sportsmanship and pretty cheap. Most games would be better without n00b weapons but developers rarely admit they fucked up.

No offense, but that's kind of incorrect.
Weapons such as the Rocket Launcher in Halo are used a lot of the times to bring vehicles down. (Unless you're a god with the laser like me.)

I would say that I for one am VERY good at games. I don't need to brag about myself, but I know for a fact I'm good. I just don't complain if someone uses a rocket launcher.
I also think that if someone's going to do it to me, I'll do it right back.

And last point, a developer doesn't fuck up by making a weapon that can prove useful in a game. In all honestly, if it weren't for the Missile Pod, Rocket Launcher or Lazer in Halo 3, it would be VERY difficult to take down vehicles which have squishy people inside.

I'm not trying to pick a fight, just watch your words.

Sure there necessary to take down vehicles, but can't they just be like the anti tank weapons in Battlefield games: Ineffective vs infantry. The halo 3 RL is like one free kill for every round you acquire.

bullcrap- anything but point blank and your enmey can set up a tent, cook some bacon, eat the bacon, buy a cake, eat the cake, sleep, wake up pack up the tent before being hit- only tracking rockets are hard to hit infantry with cos they only track veichles

also ammo is very limited+ 2 shot capacity- they kill 1 shot but firing long range is hard to hit- close range you die too

Yes. I'm sick of people constantly bitching at me over Xbox Live because I used a gun in Halo or a perk in Call of Duty that helped me kill them. It's in there for a reason, and you have the same access to it as I do.

I am definetly sick, I have a friend who says irl PWNED, FAIL, NOOB , YOU SUCK , YOU FAIL and I seriously want to punch him for it sometimes, it's so annoying, also he is stubborn and doesn't change his views on everything and when he realizes its wrong he still says he is right resorts to swearing and your mum jokes, then saying pwned immediatel after it so he can feel that he has won something.
