Raven? Twilight Sparkle? And now she's going to be Harley Quinn?

I liked the original Harley voice, but I really can't see this as anything but good news.

If only this game was actually about Batman or something... and not a side character....

Seriously, she's a great VA and if that is her in the trailer, which is probably is (why would they have the old VA do the trailer if she wasn't in the rest of the game) then I personally don't notice the difference.

Oh gosh. A arkham city and MLP mash up MUST be made when the game is released. XD

Well... While it saddens me to see the voice of Harley I remember from the cartoons... I guess they had a reason behind this...

Still a shame.

Tara Strong is a great voice actor no question.

But hell this character is barely Harley Quinn anyway. Why the fuck do they keep not putting her in a jester costume? She just looks like some random goth chick.

Oh, how time flies. I remember when Harley was introduced and all I could hear was Arleen Sorkin. Here we are 19 years later and all I hear is Harley.

"That doesn't mean that part of me won't kind of miss Arleen Sorkin's "puddin'," though - it might be a great performance, but it won't be what we're used to, and I don't blame fans for being a bit disappointed."

Bummer achieved.

I have one question: why is it called Arkham City? There was never an Arkham City (unless you're talking HP Lovecraft; wouldn't that be a hell of a cross-over). It was just Arkham Asylum in Gotham City.
After the events in AA, the Asylum was in no shape to house the inmates so they went ahead with the warden's plans and build a new one. (The plans can be seen in the warden's office, the one adjacent to the pit where you fight the inmates for the first time in the game) They're converting a group of slums isolated from Gotham proper by a bridge into a larger facility, Arkham City.

While the internet will mourn the loss of the works of Arleen Sorkin for the game, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. Tara has had alot of experience and even if she doesn't live up she'll at least bring a sub-par performance. I can't even imagine it will have much bearing over the main game either other than the interactions you'd have with her. Fans of the game shouldn't let voice actor changes rule their judgment over the game!

So sad! I mean, that voice is so iconic, and to have it taken away from us like this is just messed up! I'm positive that Strong will perform admirably as the new voice of Harley, but it just won't be the same.

While it's sad seeing those who defined the roles leave them, there were parts of Sorkin's performance in Arkham Asylem that were not quite as satisfying. Particularly when she rerecorded the dialogue from "Mad Love", an episode I always loved her performance in, for her tapes in the game. The episode really sold the idea to me that Harley was a genuine psychiatrist before her corruption. The way she contrasted the persona of Harleen Quinzel to Harley Quinn just... enticed me. It did a far better job than the original comic (mostly by removing the references to her... proclivities in college) in convincing me that her fall was sincere and significant. But in the tapes, it was flat. There was no change, no real effort, no soul in it. While I appreciated the reference, I felt that the lackluster performance lost something that gave the previous rendition power. I admit I don't know how much of this was Sorkin and how much was her direction, but something was missing in that instance and I find it hard to ignore.
I have always liked Tara Strong as a voice actress and I'm certain she can carry the role for this game as well as anyone can.

(Of course, no one can ever truly replace Mark Hamil as Joker)

Because there's absolutely no way that this could ever go wrong.

The funny thing is: Because I don't live in the US, I didn't grow up with Sorkin as Quinn or Strong as Bubbles/Timmy Turner/Raven/etc. and probably will play this game in German anyway.

What amuses me is the fact how some of these posts here sound. I mean, from what I understand, Sorkin did play Quinn in TAS and so most of you see her as THE Harley Quinn and are disappointed that she won't reprise the role. Understandable. But saying that the game is ruined, because one of the side characters has a new voice? That's pretty much ridiculous. If it bothers you so much you could still turn off voices and play with subtitles :p

And the one or two who said the game was ruined because Strong also does voicework in MLP: God, I can't even begin to explain how stupid THAT is. It's like saying that Fallout 3 is ruined because Liam Neeson does voicework there and you hated Episode 1...

But, like I said, this doesn't really bother me. I'm just looking forward to the MLP-Mashups ^^

Worse for me is the outfit change Harley received. In Arkham Asylum it just had more 'umpf!' to it and the Arkham City version just looks tame and bland in comparison.
On the other hand I suppose if you change the voice actress then changing the look too makes sense.

I'm much more depressed that the Joker voice will be retired after this game. That is the best damn voice ever.

Just listened to the trailer again, I actually really like Tara Strong's Harley voice. It sounds...younger. I'll be honest, in the last Batman game, Arleen had a really shrill voice that seemed way older then Harley needed. I think Tara Strong will be just fine, if the trailer was any indication.
