Granted, I wrote that idea in a highschool notebook while extremely stoned myself, but still! I DEMAND PAYMENT FOR MY MUSHROOM DEATH SUIT!!!

... seriously. I wasn't aware this was even an issue. It seems like much more of a waste than anything else - why not look for a safer enbaulming fluid? Doesn't diet soda contain chemicals that, if heated up, resemble fermaldahyde? Im not a scientist, but I'm certain they could work from there. That suit just sounds expensive. Disgusting. Awesome. Etc.

Why is it more of a waste than creating a better embalming fluid? mushrooms grow naturally and are being given food in this scenario. It seems much safer and far less wasteful to me than trying to figure out a new and different man made chemical. A lot of people (like me) want to naturally decompose when they die.

At least where I am (Canada) the laws will not allow one to decompose naturally. How crazy is that? You must be in a box for instance. I would be down with this if it allowed my body to naturally decompose legally. I don't like the idea of becoming a hazard after i'm dead just to maintain the ridiculously arrogant and dark-ages inspired habit we have of trying to keep dead human bodies from breaking down. Why? Are you planning on digging up and inspecting grandma once a year? Can't her body just become part of the earth again like every other creature on this planet? Would you even notice?
