Ok here is a better question, what the hell is wrong with the parents in the pokemon world. The allow their 10yr olds to go out into the world on there own. What if there are pedophiles or murderers hiding in that tall grass, along side all the wild pokemon.

All the pedophiles are afraid of the 10 year old's fire breathing dragon (Charizard) or giant baby faced dragon (Dragonite) or legendary green dragon god (Rayquayza). I think they're safe

I'm not sure why Ash doesn't age, but his Pikachu isn't level > 9000 because it goes back to level 5 each time they switch regions. At least, that's what it seems like.

Levels also don't really apply in the anime.

That would be the normal solution, but it doesn't work. Ash's Pikachu has uber-hax. That's why it can beat rock/ground Pokemon. Somehow. No other Pikachu in the world can do that. It really should be level >9000 though and it still lost to May's dad somehow too.

Well some episodes seem to take place at the same time of day throughout the whole thing so maybe 5-6 episodes equal a day.

And why the HELL is he still collecting badges when by now his Pikachu must be at a level >9000?

They make Pikachu weaker at the start of every new region to fit with his new team, but it's not very subtle. Pikachu destroys Brandon's Regirock in one or two moves, and then a few episodes later, loses to Paul's Elekid. If Ash was smart he just keep his powerful Pokemon and quit this whole starting all over.

That wouldn't be very easy either. Not every kid comes out of the same town, so no one place is a "starter town." It's also unlikely that only one arbitrary scientist in the entire region has a set of starter Pokemon. It would really suck if we had to go halfway across the world just to get a starter, wouldn't it?

That wouldn't be very easy either. Not every kid comes out of the same town, so no one place is a "starter town." It's also unlikely that only one arbitrary scientist in the entire region has a set of starter Pokemon. It would really suck if we had to go halfway across the world just to get a starter, wouldn't it?
