Why are you so few? Where do you all hide out? I only know like 3, and out of those 3 only 1 is my friend.

A hard question, as I have difficulty myself finding other geek girls. (I've developed a radar, I can sit in a mall and rate how geeky passersby are. It's a fun game if you're bored.) On the internet, I notice a lot hide in play-by-post RP forums, and in real life try bookstores and look at local clubs. Barring that, I find it best to take mildly geeky girls and giving them gateway books and games to draw them into the fold. It's a slow process but usually worth it.

Well, I'm a second generation Geek. I got taken to my first Star Trek convention at six months old and was playing Doctor Who with my Duplos a few years after that. So I guess it's probably conditioning from my childhood.

I was noticing in the relationship thread that a lot of people "Wondered why girls don't like me" and thought maybe I could offer some insight, being one. Plus, I have questions about the odd inner workings of the fanboy mind, so I thought some might reciprocate.

There are three types of Gamer girls.

1) The type, that only play games so they can whore attention from the male gamers.

2) Are the same as normal Male gamers, excluding looks, and certain genitalia

3) Are guys.

What more needs to be said ?

Also, an Ask a Gamer thread is pointless due to the fact that, this is a gamer forum, what makers her/him more certified to talk about games?

From that leads to part of my annoyance, the other part is that it points to truth, that she/he is likely an attention whore (A well known saying, incase some one tries to call me on that) due to it being her/hims 1-3 post, rubbing it in everyones face "Hey Look I'm a girl" I've seen an extremely high amount of "Attention whores" who just do that nonestop. That being said i'd like to point out that not all are like that, nor is it even a high percentage (if there was a percent) but still annoying none the less.

And fine if you'd like me to "contribute" by your definition, here you go.

What makes your Gamer opinion different from say, mine or anyone else on this forum?

1) Why do (some) gamers girls have an seemingly uncontrollable urge to be attention whores and drama-queens?

2) Why do (some) gamer girls seem to think that they're so damned rare? It's not like I don't belong to a small (less than 30 active members) guild that include several women in its' membership.

1) I have a long list of theories on this. Some involve daddy not paying enough attention to her. Some involving societal expectations. But the simple answer is they're girls and (unlike me) don't want to turn into "one of the guys."

2) Well, mostly because many like me grew up as one of the only girls in their school more interested in playing Indiana Jones than Barbies. And we are growing in ranks on games and internet, true, but we tend to think "rare" in that we don't physically meet many other glasses-wearing nerdettes.

If I remeber correctly, you often post about how you are Canadian. Even in one thread you started singing "O'Canada". How is she any diffrent from you? Also, I don't see how this is a big deal. She created a thread because she wanted to answer common misconception about female Gamers. You aren't female so you can only compare yourselves by the fact that you both may be gamers. Even then she could enjoy a diffrent set of games then you do.

At the moment I'm very into The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher.

I have an RPG preference just because FPSs give me a headache sometimes unless I get the volume set perfect. And the pretty costumes! (not)

Well, he's certainly cute, and witticism is definitely a turn-on for me, but for me I don't get hot and bothered by someone unless they're in the room. We're hard-wired to be less visual than guys so it's the whole experience of being with someone that's attractive.
