Hello!

You may remember me from this thread:

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.280915-Ask-a-Halo-fanboy-anything-Removing-common-misconceptions#10987070

If you don't, here's the gist:

Halo has a negative image around here due partly to misconceptions and sterotypes, and I want to remove those false ideas, without pushing my views on others.

Since the last thread was civil, and because of the rash of comments I see about DNF and it's weapon limit and health system, I am making a contuation of the thread.

[HEADING=1] PLEASE make sure your question has not already addressed in the answered questions sections![/HEADING]

So, ASK AWAY!

EDIT: I really would like to see some questions about the community or bungie, not just halo.

ALSO: Check this out: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/issues/issue_312/8981-A-Bigger-Universe

The original OP is too large to fit in one post ( the text just vanishes after a while, or I get a post upload error)

So please excuse the quadruple post.

One good question: Why is this new thread necessary? Couldn't you have just bumped up the old one?

Anyone who cares already has their mind made up; anyone who was going to blame DNF's failure on Halo already has. This is kind of pointless.

Also, Reach totally broke canon. FLAME SHIELD ACTIVATE! (I'm not answering any arguments against that because I have looked and studied Reach and the original trilogy and it did. Go back and look.)
As someone who knows the Halo universe like the back of my hand... it only did a little bit, and it's easily explainable.

But I'm not going to assume we're thinking about the same things. Tell me how you think it broke canon.

And if you really refuse to answer any arguments against it, then what's the point of stating it? It just makes you sound like you're blowing it out your ass.

Back up your argument, or don't argue at all.

Your guess is as good as mine.

The orginal thread's OP has gotten so large it can no longer fit in one post, it just cuts off around the 3rd set of answered questions.

Plus, I think i'll be better off with making a new thread then bumping one that's been dead for weeks...

About DNF, I had been planning on making a part 2 for a while now, but the whole 2 weapon limit and health regen thing thats going on now seemed to make now a good time to make it.

Anyways, about reach canon, Halesly's journal explains most of it, the only canon break not explained and solved is how long it took reach to fall (A rather large on one at that)

Though i'm willing to not discuss it if you don't want too.

How well do you think halo would do in a fight against the nintendo a universe that has things that can destroy entire universes?

Hello. Two questions please.

With reference to the other multiplayer experiences from earlier instalments of the franchise, how do you feel the Armour Lock ability has changed the gameplay of Halo multiplayer in the Reach instalment and do you think these changes achieved by Armour Lock have been for better or worse?

Are the novels actually worth reading, or are they cheaply written and produced?
(Sorry to take over, OP, but I'm probably reinforcing a point you're gonna make :p)

The Halo novels are fantastic. They aren't the best written books on the planet, but they're always a load of fun.

... Well, except for the Flood. Only read that if you want to learn some behind-the-scenes things from Halo 1. Like what the rest of the Humans on Halo, as well as the Covenant, are doing while you're doing what you're doing in the game.

EDIT: I'll let the OP (who I'll refer to as Majora because Majora is awesome XD) answer the armor lock question.

Why do fans dislike Halo 2 so much compared with 3? 2 was my favourite, and I was a little dissapointed with 3. Still enjoyed it though.

What happened to Jun in the Halo:Reach campaign? Did he just pack his things, move to Mexico, and rename himself Juanchilo? (thats the humerous answer I come up with when I hear that question asked.)

Why weren't there any new weapons in Halo:Reach? I guess you could say after the fall of Reach everyone ran out of money and couldn't engineer new weapons, but why weren't there any new, interesting weapons in there? Sure, there were a few, like 2 if I remember correctly and they were for the covenant. (concussion rifle which is a mini brute shot) (the focus rifle which was a up/downgraded beam rifle) And the smg and dual wielding got taken out. I know you probably can't asnwer these because you probably weren't on the dev team, but I thought I'd ask either way.

In a cinematic sense, Halo 2 is better... but it was also embarrassingly incomplete. Entire levels gone. Story changes (that ended up good, but there wasn't supposed to be such a cock-tease cliff hanger).

Not to mention the IMMENSE difficulty o_O

(Really sorry OP, I can't help myself, I love Halo XD if you want complete control, just ask, I'll hold back.)

Just because I've pretty much read all the books, seen the animated shorts, played all the games, basically got my hands on everythig Halo, and I still didn't notice this break-from-canon in Reach, could you point it out to me?

You seem to be doing a fine job! He should make you Assistant Halo Fanboy or something. ;P

Those seem like pretty decent points, but 2 on Legendary co-op was so much fun. and I pretty much ended up memorising Graveminds speech.

And I'm of the opinion that most of the weapons in Reach weren't as good as they used to be. That DRM is just annoying. I want my Battle Rifle back :'(

In the Fall of Reach, it never mentions the PoA landing on Reach, and Cortana never seems to remember fragmenting herself to study the artifact under SWORD Base.

That's really all there is without being overly picky.
