Wow, there needs to be some serious banhammering on this thread.
As for finding someone through a matchmaker, consider this - the more confining your criteria, the easier it is to google search it and come up with the result you want. This isn't strictly limited to Judaism, it just fits well within the Orthodox community.
Circumcision served multiple purposes in Jewish history. One was to show subservience to God (Yahweh). Then again, so does baptism to a Catholic. The only difference is the permanence. It also served a sand-people purpose in reducing potential for sand getting in bad places and rubbing. This is something found less commonly in non-nomadic tribes (settled) tribes, so circumcision was (supposedly) good for health. And last, it was used commonly to differentiate the Jewish people from others at the time. Specifically, the other Egyptian/middle eastern tribes, who did not follow the same practice. This way, there was undeniable proof of religion, even without having other identification. Spies need not apply.
The observed Jewish stance on the new testament is that, while Jesus was a very well constructed robot, he was not the messiahbot. The stories therein are excellent to adhere to, but the actual rules of Judaism are listed primarily (though not limited to) the old testiment of Deuteronomy - the covenant between god and the children of Isreal.

Please refrain from specifically insighting violent thoughts/discussion with talk of middle eastern conflict, as they are largely personal and not representative of the religion or ethnicity as a whole. It would be much like asking 'so, do all Christians hate gays?'. If you were to ask do the Jewish people want to have the 'holy land' back? Yes. If you were to ask if the old testament said to conquer the land, crushing the skulls of those who oppose and whetting your heels with the blood of those who would not convert? Yes. Does that apply now, to a society no longer built on 'Kill or Be Killed'? No.
Suffice to say, the Isreali state wishes for recognition and appropriate political and religion rights equal to all countries. Beyond that is an expansionist agenda that some choose to value more highly than others.

I would say that yeah, I'm zionist in the fact that I think that the Jewish people need a place to call their own in this big scary world. Jesus was a Jew. He was sold out by his friends. He was also sold out by the Jewish high figures of the faith, as they saw it a threat to be talking about a messiah. They convinced the roman authority that His insistance on calling Himself 'the king of kings' was a threat to the roman council. A combination of the two factors killed Jesus.
No one party was solely responsible.
That aside, GET OVER IT. Jesus died, according to Christianity, BECAUSE HE WAS SUPPOSED TO! He was told He would die, AND THEN HE DID. Regardless of who caused it, if you believe at all in your own religion, take the time to read it and understand why it occured. It was like, Jesus was supposed to build the Superdome and then got ganked, oops. No, He was scheduled to be ganked. SO GET OVER IT.

I think there needs to be a distinction between Jews as defined by culture, and Jews as defined by religion, when you ask your questions.
