I'm not worried, I know I'm OK. The thing is, There a Handful of people that really need the medication compared to the thousand or millions of kid that prescribe it. I saw a documentary where a doctor was ask about the percentage of people afflicted with ADD and ADHD. He said about 1/10 kids may have it... and I think he was pushing it. Imagine, You're a doctor with camera on the face being ask a question and if they found out "you" lied, "your" careers is over. You would boost the number so it can match what you think is true. Now, they asked parent and hospital record and discovered that 6/10 are under a ADD/ADHD drug and that on that 3/10 got strong medications. And that's nation wide, here in Canada. They didn't talk about the US. but since the Health Care reform, I'm betting it will be as big if not bigger. That why i said Bullshit... You may not be afflicted enough to really need medication, and so can be @Danpascooch. I'm not a statistician but numbers are easier to understand, don't you think.
Yea there is over medicating of ADHD going on. Some have a very very mild case of ADHD and don't really need the meds but still get them or going back to the bad parenting thing too. In my case I should take it, my ADHD isn't very very bad but it's not mild ether. I think what would help is there being more easily available information on ADHD and ADD for parents to understand what the meds do to there kids and what the ADHD/ADD does. The fact stands that there is little to no understanding of it and so many misconceptions. There is no prize for high stats in the ADHD/ADD diagnosis.
It's not information but care that is the problem.
Dad:" If he take that, will he do what i say and stop jumping on the walls."
Doctor:" Yes, but its....."
Dad: "Don't care, give him by the truck load till he turn into a zombie for all i care."

Basic interaction with Parent and Doctor.
Well I beg to disagree with you on that some. If more information was out there then parents wouldn't want to give their kids the meds however, some parents may use that information for just as you said. So it's kind of a double edged sword. It's still up to the doctors to say no and to make the parents understand what they're asking to do. Give a none ADHD kid the meds you're giving them crack. Good job parents you just made your kids a crack whore.
LIZ! IT'S A "OVER THE COUNTER" DRUG MEANING THE DOC DOESN'T NEED TO APPROVE OR DISAPPROVE. YOU CAN GO TO A DRUGSTORE AND ASK FOR IT. Hence the fact that his is a NORMAL interaction between parent. In fact, only the heavily medicated need approval from doctors. And that's still 3/10 remember? when 1/10 really need it? Yeah, i could go and bought some, if i wanted it.
No need to caps lock yell on me and in the states it's not, it's a controlled drug. You can't just ask for it. Even for low douses you need a scrip. Hell I need one each time I need a refill.
If i would yell or simulated yelling, i would use the [ h1 ] trick, like that:
[HEADING=1]Hello![/HEADING]
I'm only highlighting the important stuff. Beside, i still remember saying that only the heavy stuff is under prescription. Since Canada and USA have the basic same ethic concerning prescription drug, i'm willing to bet you don't take mild stuff. Yeah, it's not like in the Simpson were Homer become a medicine drug smuggler. You can't enter in a drugstore and ask anything here. You have a number of refill with every note, and if i remember correctly, it only two max. For more, you'll have to see your doctors again. It's pretty tight set of rule and regulation.
I don't get any refills for mine. I have to go to the doctor each time I need a refill and I've always seen using caps lock as yelling, that's just me. When I point out something impotent I bold it. No I don't take the mild stuff but I know for a fact here in my state at least all ADHD med need a script even some allergy meds.
Ahahahaha LOL Impotent. As long as you don't talk about me, i'm ok that you "bold" the "Impotent"! ahahahhaha lol..... sorry, I'm a guy!

Like i was saying, it's basically the same ethic. But Ritalin and the like are still over the counter drug, hence my post!
Why, why must I be in a community that's made of mostly men? God... why me. *face palm* .... and I really did face palm in rl and hit my nose. Fail... very very big fail.
I guess things are different here then any where else. I use to take Ritalin and same story with that.

You should take guys for example and appreciate the little thing in life. (Pun unintentional, really! REALLY REALLY!)

As for Ritalin, i still hear stories about junky that brake the pill into powder and sniff it. They do it because it's easier to get and cheaper.

I never told it to him. I'm not dumb or a *****. He left me... well because he was wrong and really never loved me. It was out of the blue and hurt like hell. That's the short version. But I really shouldn't of said that but kinda too late to take it back.
