dude i agree with you on every level...i love assassins creed but what would you think about an assassins creed 2 where (a lot of people say this) you go to japan BUT you learn to use ninja stars instead of throwing knives and you can use poison darts out of a blow gun or (a cool perk) you can sneak up behind someone and kill them with one of your poison darts but still have the dart to use on someone else later? and if altair was taught japanese so that while he was looking for the pieces of eden he could find a "master" that knew a lot more about "eden" in japan...almost like a Al Mualim but without the stabbing in the back? and when you find the pieces of eden in japan/asia you go back to tell the rest of your assassin brothers you found the pieces of eden and go fuck some *****(no offense) and that's your link to desmond? hmmm? how's that...minus the ***** fucking...unless you think it would go good with the story lol

Okay, so this might be blasphemy since I haven't played assasins creed, at all. But I think the whole idea would work pretty well nowadays as well, and from what I've gathered it would fit the story.

Perhaps you can't freerun on skyscrapers. Perhaps. But there's a lot of other stuff to do, and guns aren't really necessary. There are many cities in the world today where freerunning is viable, and there are many ways to make things interesting without guns. Guns wouldn't be used that much either, if you're in a city no policemen are going to run after you guns blazing, you'd take cover in the crowd, so to speak. If done well, it could be an amazing experience. Not that I trust the makers to do it well, even if they do it in the present (or for that matter any other time).

Oh, and check this video (You probably won't understand a word, but that's not important, and I can't be bothered to find another) if you think skyscrapers and modern architechture is boring.

If the next AC would be about ninja's I would never play it. AC was one of the best games I have ever played. combat is pretty good and movement looked cool and was easy. the only drawbacks are wanted meter in the Kingdom a bit too quick. This game is way better than Gears or Halo (I havn't played Bioshock or MGS4) and I hate the ninja culf crap stuff. I Think if they don't do that i hope they do something like this : you (Desmon) overhears or reads something stating that those two people (I can't remember there names) are dead or missing. you escape and find that girl and some assassins. now eather the assassins sneak back to the animius room and use it to find something (Holy Grial, The Ark, etc.) OR some kind off time-altering bomb goes off and everything goes back to swords(as Yahtzee calls it "Indego Prophacy Syndrome") and that thing would probable suck. (In Desmonds romm if you use Eagle Vision you will notice the greek letter Omega.(how I can remember this and not two of the main charecters name's is a mystery)

yeah thats what gamers need another huge disapointment. come on assaisans creed was so boreing. the gameplay moved at a snails pace you were always getting caught even when you were being as sneaky as ever. there was like three very repetitive things to do other then just assaisinating your target. I dont know who altair was fooling the guy looked like a assaisian who dresses like that and carrys around a sword. you'd think that after his first assasination attempt he might want to change his appearance or at least dress differently. the sci-fi twist was lame too. please ubisoft no assaisin 2 stick to what your good at. which i cant think of anything at the moment. better yet give sega a hand maybe the two of them combined can produce at least a C+ game. ill never forgive sega for ruining armored core

So I think that Ubi could go anywhere in the timeline for the sequal. The future could work in these ways:
1)weapson: assassins use guns these dyas such as sniper rifles and silences weapons. You could still use the blades but it would give you the choice to mix the two or use them separetly.
2)getting around: there's always hanggliding and base jumping, maybe even parachuting from a stealth plane to an objective. Also as said by Swenglish, a grapling hook would be totally perfect. (check out Mirror's Edge, the free running is amazing)
3)story: finally the story. the guild can be looking for these artifacts al over the world considering there's still at least a dozen left when Creed left off. As you search for these artifacts you meet up with other guilds around the world (there have to be others right?) and uncover some hidden conspiracy or somehting like that. Myabe even a war between other guilds, some guilds having already uncovered their own artifacts.

Then there's the possibility that the story will continue immidiatly after Creed.

1)weapons: still the same
2)getting around: smae
3)story: if you read the manual, you'll notice that umm... I can't remember what the decendants name is (I'm fealing Damon...)... anyway, you'll notice that he's not the first of the test subjects, he's like, #17 or somehting. So maybe you could play as another test subject as the templars continue there quest for the artifacts. You could be maybe play a few centries after the crucades as technology slowly "grows" and the templars grow even stronger.

P.S. If you've beaten the game (probably have) then when you get off the animus, walk to the left the the wall, turn a 180 and use eagle vision to look down. There are the numbers 122812 or 12282012, something like that. I'd like for anybody to conferm my hopes that this means that Creed 2 is coming out on December 28, 2012.

I hope that I took no ones idea, if I did, sorry, I didn't read the full forum...

All I want to see is the removal of the whole future/past thing. I want pure 12th century assassin action.
What, running up to a member of a rival religious sect, stabbing him, and getting slaughtered 10 seconds later by his guards?

Well after reading and giving a thought of AC storyline and what next in AC2 i think the would go on double story line to play as Altair and Desmend the possible plot i could think for Ac2 is Desmend escapes and is now in search of any reamining Assasins and for his parents(which are also assasins) and if I remember correctly there was part when lucy revealed desmend his parents where no found in the place where they trained the young assasins like him anyway returning to the plot i would think he would try to stop the templars and he goes for the pieces eve or whatever they where called and maybe he starts using them and he uses them to help him (of course iam imaging there would be guns in AC2 which i wouldnt like but that what i think) as for altair part in AC2 i think desmend would find his parents in the first level or maybe second they would teach them to acesses certain memories that would play the role of the animus Altair story would revealed what happen to Assasin Creed who would be the new leader and how to use the piece of eve that of course assuming that you actually use it as for desmend weponds and i dont have really clear but in my personal opion and i think all would agree that they should live guns out of the AC trilogy (maybe some bosses with a gun or machine gun but no regular enemies) well that of course is my opinion myabe you can think of better

P.S. I dont think Japan or Asia would be where the story take place but maybe since desmend would probly try to get all templar treasure ant AC the world was filled with that shit maybe there Desmend would be traveling around the world and Asia might be in the game

I think they'll use another ancestor. They ought to anyway, rather than be Desmond. I dunno how they'd work it in though. Maybe the modern day assassins take over the building and stuff you back in the machine thingy, in order to do something or other of great importance

Meh, I could never beat the game, not that it's hard...
It's just too repetitive... I try to complete it every now and then, but to have to run around doing the same missions over and over again...

Well, it's just not fun :(.

I too could not finish Assassin's Creed. I'm glad I didn't buy it and just borrowed it to see if I would like it. The free running is great, I like the combat because it actually involves some rhythm to it, and plot, I'm sure, is pretty good...

...but, you always have cutscenes unfold in the EXACT same way, you do the EXACT same missions, and while the towns have different color filters, they are all pretty much the same. The guard AI is suspect and from my understanding, the final battle throws all the sneaky awesome-ness out the window for just an all out battle.

The achievements were even lame (yes, I somewhat care about them in my 360 game), such as collect a billion of X which should have died in the days of the N64. Sucked then, sucks now. Stop giving my fake length and give me cool achievements like "Little Rocket Man" in HL2:Ep2 or "Double Decap Latte" in Dark Sector where you got an achievement for two decaps on one throw of your glaive.

So while Assassin's Creed 1 sold phenomenally well, I think a lot of people felt burned. There needs to be a great demo for 2 and lots of reviewers tell me that the repetition and boring cut scenes are fixed.

Assassins Creed way amazingly fun game to play with some of the best animations I have ever seen, which is EXACTLY how I described PoP. I think the sequel will tke place in Japan, and I think that moving from the west to the east will be too big a contrast for them to make effective. If the gameplay is very similar, but with the less fun things improved, there is potential for a phenominal game, but Ubisoft do have an awful habit of having great ideas, but cocking them up horribly!

The way they put together the plot in the first game leaves option for changing things in the next game. Which will happen anyway because it will go for the crusades to the future. Hopefully there will still be some sword fighting but no doubt there will be guns.

Definatly though this series in going to have a lot of variety.

the first game i played on my computer was Warrior Within and I seriously felt it. Man it was so good. In fact I played SoT after WW and I was so pissed off by the lack of freestyle combos, that I didn't feel like finishing it and haven't yet.
AC on the other hand is so good, I cry a little every time I play the game, then some more. Of course I cheapened the whole combat system by using only grabs and throws, because the game sorta lagged a bit on my old comp. Now that I have a new graphics card, I just use counter-kills and nothing else :D
AC in the future with wall running as some people say, I think that would be too Mirror's Edge. Even if Mirror's Edge is probably inspired by PoP and AC.
AC2 should probably be set in Renaissance Era Europe. Imagine a Leap of Faith from the top of NotreDame or some such thing that would be serious fun. Plus a 3rd person social-stealth game is already being developed by Ubi Montreal, SC5, so it would be weird if two games from the same company focus on the same style.
Other than that I really dunno.
