I'm a big Creed fan, and I was going over the different possible locations and time periods for Assassin's Creed 3.
What I thought would be a cool idea was playing as Desmond, and free running through a modern city, taking down templars and what not.
Any other ideas?

I've always thought an Assassin's Creed based in Victorian Britain would be awesome.

Hunting through factories, getting underpaid children to spin you clothes on a loom...

That game would have it all!

Victorian England could be good.

I've really wanted Roman times, Jumping around and climbing all over the collosium (bad spelling sorry) as well as other roman buildings would be awesome.

I think I read somewhere though it was likely to be fudal Japan though. Not my first choice but still I can see it.

Were you thinking that Desmond's ancestor would be Jack the Ripper too? I was. Truth is, those whores knew too much.

OT: Someplace that you wouldn't expect as much. Maybe Portugal in the 1600s or something. How about British India, or South Africa? China? So many possibilities.

Aye, I'll further the Victorian Britain motion. That would rock awesomely.

Or perhaps somewhere different? Colonial America, perhaps?

I'm sure I read somewhere that the developers wanted to choose locations that hadn't been done to death, so I'm guessing that Victorian Britain wouldn't be top of their list. Love the idea of colonial India though - there must be a lot of scope there, what with the East India Company and the Sepoy Rebellion and all that.

Presuming the timeline is still moving forward, I reckon revolutionary France might be good, or 18th century Moscow. China and Japan must have potential as well.

I'm definitely going with the Victorian Britain movement that's coming out of this thread. I can imagine how incredibly awesome it would be, the buildings, the atmosphere, the smoky city of London... the huge difference between rich and poor, kids in factories slaving away, coal mines, smallpox outbreaks...

Could be rather fun :D

Based on some of the suggestions in this thread, which would be more fun/impressive to climb: Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, the Kremlin or the Taj Mahal?

I know that in the next game you will probably be Desmond in a modern setting but I do still hope for my feudal Japan.

How about setting it during the late 19th century? You could be a globe-trotter - visit India, Japan, various other places in the Orient... wear a pith helmet... meet Theodore Roosevelt... no?

That would seem quite pointless since brotherhood is set entirely in Rome.

My guess is that due to the effect of the Animus leaking into Desmond, It will time-jump and globe-trot all around as he pieces together clues in his mind, before the final mission being a modern day Desmond assassinating the President or something.

I'm calling at least 18th century. it was 300 years from the first to the second one, and I think they will keep the trend.

Well revolutionary France was a rumored setting for AC2 so they may use that.

Feudal Japan is an option due to subject 16 writing in kanji and
now always "with" Desmond after uncovering the truth

But I'm loving the Victorian Britain idea - no need for those foreign language snippets, interesting environment and Jack the Ripper could be a templar nemesis being controlled by Abstergo to steal your secrets

I think a return to the crusades could work. AC1 was so bad that I never finished it, and barely anyone I know bothered playing it. I just think that a setting where the robes actualy fit in would be good.

But Feudal Japan and Victorian Britain would also be good.

Modern day doesn't really work. They'd just shoot you. Same problem with the Victorian.
It would be a new challenge. Fuck, what is wrong with gamers today? Whenever they get the slight waver of a hint that something might be different or new, they immediately say it will be shit.

Anyway, in Victorian era it would take them ages to reload.
