While it is open to many points of criticism, I think that all can agree that the naval missions were super well done.
I thought that it really captured the feel of two floating matchboxes with hundreds of guns doing battle in a raging sea.
But it was not just the natural atmosphere that impressed me but also the amount of detail put in the ship.
I loved how the crewmen would scurry about on the sails and in and out of the hold after having your orders shouted by your 1st mate and repeated by the officers on other decks.
I loved how your ship crashed and your men rushed onto the opposing vessel after picking up weapons from the quarter master.
I think that Ubisoft should seriously consider taking the team responsible for the ship battle and give them funding to make their own game. It could be a lot more fleshed out, with different types of ships and more upgrades and perhaps fleet management capabilities. The team working on Mount and Blade: Caribbean! have their work cut out for them.
