Assasin's Creed 3 in the revolutionary war. That way you could have guns, but still have it reasonable that assasin blades would be an effective weapon since all the guns are crap. Just think about it.

Dude, totally.

I'm really groaning about the idea of a WW2 Assassin's Creed. We've already got a bazillion games in WW2, even some 3rd person games like The Sabotuer.
I do understand why they wouldn't make a Japanese AC from a story perspective, since Desmond has no asian heritage (that we know of), tho I don't see the problem with following another protagonist, even just partially. My question is that why would the Japanese be so against it? On top of the fact that there's barely any fuedel japanese-based games and the fact that as a game company, they can do whatever they like to please their fans, the game engine and realistic style would really suit an assassin-in-japan game.

Just please Ubisoft, for the love of god let us CROUCH!!
But this game was developed by a diverse group from varying races and religions and... and...

If they honestly did a WWII setting, I could only imagine the loud clap of people slapping their foreheads. There is a saturation of WWII games as it is, and I really am not confident that they could make the game stand out enough.

I like the sound of the American Revolution or another time period of that nature. the American Revolution or Civil War would actually be quite interesting due to the interesting ways they could tie in the Assassins and Templars with conspiracies, sabotage, and double crossing. I have not played AC 1 or finished the second yet, but I would think that a period like the Revolution would offer help move the story along to widen the expanse of the Templars across the globe rather than just a single nation.

I think that the next Assassin's Creed should be in Victorian England... Maybe have Jack the Ripper in there somewhere?
Maybe Desmonds relative is Jack!

I dunno, I agree with Victorian, but more steampunk heavy, or French Revolution..

Oh and all the hookers were actually evil templars!

OP: Yeah by now it would be a bigger shocker for AC not to end in a huge cliffhanger.

I've actually considered the American Revolution/Revolutionary War myself, or perhaps rather the (global) events leading up to that period in time. I'm thinking ca. 1750 and onwards being the next logical "leap forward in time" for the AC series. It could include the French and Indian War/Seven Years' War. Should be loads of good stuff the AC writers could use there, especially considering the presence of Freemasonry and the like at that time.

Yup, could make a pretty good story right there, fighting Templar among the Redcoats, French and native Americans.

EDIT: Hehe, just realised the date on this thread. Ah well, no matter...

Ok, the ending to Brotherhood doesn't even make any sense.

Desmond stabs Lucy. After holding the Apple of Eden. Apparently Minerva made him do it.

I was like huh? It's getting a little too complicated now. I mean WTF is wrong with Ubisoft and stupid plot twists?! And the number 72?!

I love re-reading this now knowing what the ending is. Yep, that pretty much sums up my reaction, too.

Hmm...Ninjas would be kinda cool. Then again, I doubt that it would maintain the whole Templar V assassin thing if it were set in far east.
