Also the armor of Romulus looks kind of stupid.
Understatement, it's fucking hideous. I had to take it off as soon as I got it. DIdn't want Ezio running around in a dress with a wolf stuck on it.

Plus it isn't rendered properly for horses or perching on things. It's generally just a piece of shit.

I didn't like the War Machines either.

EXCEPT FOR THE TANK! Man that was bad-ass. Made you feel all like Haters gonna hate.
It was badass unless you were trying to get 100% sync... then it was a nightmare.

I have to say I agree with you for the most part. Certain sections of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood are rage inducing. I despise the timer, especially the courtesan mission with the poison doctor.

If it wasn't so bulky and they had used a different bottom (Right now it is a fucking dress no question) it might look better but yeah I liked Altair's armor better.

And also shop quests are retarded. Where am I supposed to find a fucking shrunken head? Because I never did.

It's completely random. You might find them on bandits or in chests but they're rare.

Hmm...I'm noticing a lot of the people seem to really hate the 100% synchronization part of the game. I'll be honest, I didn't really worry about trying to get it on any of the missions. I'd try to be stealthy as much as I could, sure, but most of the time I didn't even read the requirement prior to the mission for getting 100%. I guess if you're worrying about that while doing some of the missions, it could make it less fun. But I had a blast with pretty much the whole game. The War Machines were a blast played like that. I'll replay the missions later for the 100% stuff.

The whole system was shit. Send me on a mission or just open up your inventory. Don't tell me to find a few arbitrary doodads that are so rare that I never saw a single one in my entire playthrough so I can get some decent armor.

There are exactly two shrunken heads in the game. If you sell one, woops! no more shop quest. Same for a lot of materials that are not clearly marked as quest items. Don't sell anything ever.

Are you all using stealth kills for your assassinations? Square is always a stealth kill (maybe not jump kills), while R1+Square is a loud kill. I think loud kills always put you on alert for a split second, even if there aren't any other guards nearby. Personally, unless it's necessary to use something else, crossbow is my go-to weapon for killing in missions. It's quiet, a one-hit kill as far as I've seen, and very satisfying.

As many have already mentioned the !@#$ing cricket chirping BS makes me want to club a baby seal! Patch and then find the developer that sampled that sound and added it to the game and then FLOG HIM!

I agree. I finally played Brotherhood again today after taking a week or 2 break from it, and I've experienced a number of things mentioned on the list.

Jumping and Camera
This seems to happen a lot, Ezio jumping off in a slightly different angle, missing the ledge, also the camera randomly swapping direction just as you were pressing jump, resulting in Ezio jumping in the opposite direction. Especially noticable with the romulus ruins which have a stupid timer on, where you jump to what you think is a ledge, and it either isn't a ledge, or ezio jumps off in a different direction. Meaning you have to restart because you need to be perfect for those timers pretty much, and you have to go through the annoyance of climbing up again. It's also noticable in those VT chase missions, where you have to run quickly through the hoops in a certain time frame to get gold. I also fell due to it in another one of the ruins which didn't have a timer, but required you to not lose any health, screwing the 100% sync again.

Timers
In some cases the time seems to be about right, but then with other ones it seems to be a bit stupid. Like I mentioned above, the ruins ones, there's no chance of doing it on your first time, you need to know where to go and not fall down, or else you won't do it in time. Usually I don't have a problem with timers, but they went too far with some of the times.

Instafail Missions
100% agreed. This has happened tonnes to me today, where I'd kill a guard who hadn't seen me, and he somehow detects me, it's screwed up 100% sync things, and it's even more frustrating having to constantly watch the loading screen over and over.

War machines
This somewhat connects with the above, where it kept restarting if a guard somehow detected you when he was dead, the first two war machine missions were only annoying due to that really. The flying machine and tank on the other hand, oh dear. I'm not even going to bother 100% syncing those two. The controls for the flying machine were just down right awful, not to mention you'd shoot directly at the cart, or the building, and for some reason it didn't register the hit. The tank wasn't quite as annoying to control, but I could see getting 100% sync being annoying.

I'm also going to add a few others.

Targeting
Autotargeting has always been an iffy thing in gaming, and probably will never be perfect. Sometimes it won't auto target the guard infront so you can send your assassins, resulting in you getting detected before you can. Also you'd be standing in front of an assassination target and for some reason the autotarget thinks you want to assassinate the guy next to the target, and so the assassinate move kills him instead of the target resulting in either a game fail, or the 100% sync fail.

Hiding in Crowds
Sometimes I would run into a crowd, thinking I could hide in there, and the game doesn't put me into blend mode, despite being in the crowd, causing you to have to shuffle round before it registers. Also you would randomly get knocked out of blend if the crowd decides to go straight into someone in the middle of the path and the person then knocking you out of the blend. Also some crowds wouldn't even blend at all despite there being enough people. over all it was just extremely tedious when you're trying to stay undetected.

My brother has always had the jumping problem, but it only happens to me occationally. Maybe you just need to line up your jumps better.

Don't even get me started on the fucking detection issues... the part that it sucks the most? During Leonardo's War Machine missions... it's bad enough you have to do a challenge like don't kill anyone before getting to such and such an objective or whatever but OMFG stick around a place too long and the guards start doing that parcour shit just like you and can you escape? Fuck no, god thanks Ubisoft for being such dicks... -.-

I don't know why they have to make us press 2 button at the same time to freerun,it's frustrating that i can't use my right thumb to look around while freerunning...

And Oh...i hate "cannot be detected" mission.

Agree with all your points. And I'd add to it the goddamned Apple section. WTF!?

I did find the problem I was having with jumping was solved when I started using the controller to point not in the direction of the jump as I saw it on the screen, but in relation to Ezio's position. So, if it looks like I have to push up to make Ezio jump to the north, that would make him jump into space. But if I pushed left, then he was fine, because the jump was to Ezio's left, even though the camera makes it looks as if I have to push up.

Stupid effin camera.

The jumping mechanics are indeed kind of shitty. I've had quite numerous occasions where Altaïr/Ezio will stupidly jump in completely the opposite route where I wanted to go even when the game would allow me that jump anyway.

I know, it was dumb. I'd love to know which developer that would be a fun mechanic.

What brought it into farce territory was that the 100% sync required you to not lose any health, in a section where your only means of self defense drains your health.

Yeah it makes free-running kind of pointless in some areas, because you can't use the right stick to control the direction while you do it.

Oh well... despite all this I still enjoyed the game a lot.

Loading screens
Traditionally in video games, the loading screen is there at a sort of "standby" screen until the game's content is finished loading. In Brotherhood, it makes Ezio stand there like an idiot, getting whacked by guards until the white screen fades away. I've actually died once or twice because of this strange method of loading.

Horses
I don't know what the hell Ubisoft was thinking with this one. In the first game, horses where only to get from city A to city B. In the second on, they were only for the countryside. In this game, there are so many horses it seems the AI got even more retarded because of it.

I've seen NPC's walk their horses into walls and continue walking. I've shot at horseback guards only to miss because the bullet/arrow hit the horse's head, and being immortal, wasting the shot. Now I'm on that mission where you have to tail that Micheletto guy on horseback, and his favorite thing to do is suddenly whip around and start chasing me.

Full Synchronization
This could have been a cool feature if they would have been a bit more creative with it. I swear over half of them are either "Don't lose health" or "Kill with hidden blade". I've had some that I found nearly impossible to do because of that loading screen problem above had me spawning in front of a guard during a "Don't get seen" synchro.

Chain Combos
I actually can't complain about this one too much. This was one of the much-needed features. No longer do I have to sit there counter-killing every guard one at a time. Having said that, it still results in a lot of strange visual glitches - from Ezio teleporting to having him spin around, fly 50-feet into the air, and chain-kill the guard on the roof. When this happens to me, I wish I could record it and upload it on YouTube. It's too hilarious not to share.

Throwing Knives
What the flying fuck, Ubisoft? You had this down pat. For two fucking games, the throwing knives were almost flawless. In Brotherhood, I'll be lucky if the knife hits a guard that I'm currently targeting. You'd think over time Ezio would be better with them, not worse. That's okay though, since you guys added 6 or 7 different forms of ranged attack, ensuring Ezio would never get his own hands dirty.

-

This is just a list of the glitches I have problems with. The non-glitch related bullshit could fill two more of these posts. I really do enjoy this game, I do. It's only flaw is that it tried to fix things that weren't broken, and because of this, it's gameplay is actualy slightly worse that AC2's instead of better. Here's to hoping that AC3 will either fix these problems or remove them altogether.

In terms of machinery, their supposed to handle like the titanic in an ocean of maple syrup, this is Renaissance Italian technology, not a Ferrari. Their supposed to be difficult. While, yes it does make 100% completion more difficult it adds a layer of challenge. Which is good seeing as 80% of the missions were quite literally a walk in the park. I just try to overlook the flaws and enjoy the game as a whole. The free-running across Italian rooftops is quite intoxicating, and makes up for the majority of these flaws. Hope this was at least semi-helpful to anyone! =)
