Just realized there's a bit of a mistake with "the apple" in the first two games
(Before you say "discuss it on the ubi forums noob!" - I can't it won't let me create an account)

First game - when Desmond is talking to Lucy about the apple (not exact quotes)
"Well it's looking like it's at Masayf"
"They found the piece there and it was destroyed in the incident"

Second game - the codex mentions moving the apple to Cyprus and during the game it is found by the templars and taken to Rome

EDIT: Brotherhood - you find it in the future in the Colosseum in Rome

So according to the future it should be where it was at the end of the first game, yet it's been taken from there and moved pretty far in the second. I'm wondering if this will get tied together in the next game but who knows.

Anyway discuss and feel free to post your opinions/ideas on how the apple got back home.

You know what I noticed? Nothing. I was too busy enjoying the game, any plotholes were either nonexistant or too small for me to notice.

I'd completely forgotten about that apple crap untill you mentioned it just now.

But to me, the whole "Desmond: Man of the future conspiracy" nonsense is the biggest albatros around this series' neck.

Fair enough, I just noticed it as I was replaying it to get the plot in my head for the new one (third playthrough) something you'd skim over just playing normally

Albatross around the series neck?

OT: I think I'll just wait till they release all of them in a boxset like they did with the PoP triolgy.

Plotholes or not, I really liked the whole conspiracy theory thing with the historical puzzles. A real boon to AC2 in my opinion. I know there will be more of it in Brotherhood, and I honestly can't wait.

Read the codex pages on the wall. Altair talks about how he tried to destory the apple, but he simply couldn't. He was afraid that the apple would curropt him just as it did his mentor, so he was tryingto find a way to crack the secrets before it was too late

This is from playing the game when it first came out

I did read them all - that's how I knew he took it to Cyprus and from there it was taken by the Templars to Rome during Ezio's timeline. But speaking of the codex I'm interested in what that final secret Altair discovered before dying was.

My point was he kept it but moved it away from Masyaf yet in the future of the first game they said it was found still found there

Seconded I loved the subject 16 parts - gives an eerie look at an alternate world where all inventors/key figures are working together with the pieces. And they confirmed there is more puzzles like that also related to subject 16, so we can look forward to that

I think when they made assassins creed 2 there were several things in the story they didn't like and changed. They probably just hoped we wouldn't notice, but there is stuff like how the assassins had an undercover agent (lucy) in the organisation but the other Assassins still try storming the place which doesn't make much sense to me. And also in the first game Desmond talks about having been an Assassin a long time ago but that he gave it up, which they completely ditched as an idea.

This is true, but my guess is something will bring Ezio or another ancester to Masayif once more. I hope they go around the world wioth this.If they innovate the game enough, they could take this far without making it dull/repetitive

rhyme of the ancient mariner reference. to attest for his sins has to wear one around his neck and go through a bunch of stuff.

As for what the op said noticed it but meh the storys a mess and theres even plot holes when u finish the Truth or the whole codex but thats prob to be fixed in the final game

Well that's the thing - the games are meant to be a trilogy so you don't get to see these other assassin ancestors. Really sucks since I was hoping to see at least bits of subject 16's ancestor (japanese symbols/drawings hinted at ninja. Also those french revolution rumors and the Russian comics would have made some great settings.

But yes I really hope they bring the apple back to Masyaf and have Ezio have a bit of a backdrop on Altair through the apple or something.

Oh that was explained in the first game - if you steal the passkey things during the game you can access Lucy's emails and find out that she sent a coded (really not so much..) message to outside abstergo saying they were close to the truth and to send help quickly.

Granted the storming in guns blazing was odd but still that's why they did it

Not really a plothole persay, it just means that it was moved back to Masayf eventually. But yeah, probably an oversight. I guess the other option is that another apple was placed there as there's a lot of them, but I suppose the assasins could have returned there.

Ah ok... however you would have thought that assassins would be better at subtlety...

But this is assassin's creed: Brotherhood, not "Assassin's creed 3" Or "assassin's creed the end game"

THis isn't the end, they've made that a tad obvious... Too much story to run through
