Some of you may have noticed the subtle flashing hexadecimal code at the end of Ubisoft's E3 trailer for Revelations.

54 68 72 65 65 20 6c 69 76 65

73 20 74 61 69 6c 65 64 2e 20

54 68 72 65 65 20 6c 69 76 65

73 20 6c 61 73 74 2e 20 54 68

72 65 65 20 6d 65 73 73 61 67

65 73 20 64 65 6c 69 76 65 72

65 64 3a 20 74 68 65 20 67 72

65 65 74 69 6e 67 2c 20 74 68

65 20 77 61 72 6e 69 6e 67 2c

20 74 68 65 20 72 65 76 65 6c

61 74 69 61 6e 2e

Three lives tailed. Three lives last. Three messages delivered: the greeting, the warning, the revelatian.

No, "revelatian" is not a misspell. The correct value for "o" would be "6f".

I guess the most interesting part is what the three events might refer to.
What do you guys think?

"Greeting" - AC1; Altair; introduction of precursor technology
"Warning" - AC2; Ezio; Minerva speaks to Desmond through Ezio
"Revelatian" - Revelation (new game); Desmond(?); unknown as of yet

Maybe refers to the Ezio Assassins Creed games (ie AC2, AC:Brotherhood and AC:Revelations).

The greeting - Meeting Ezio.
The warning - The warning given to Desmond regarding the girl that he stabbed at the end of AC2:Brotherood (cant remember her name).
The revelatian - Whatever we will find out in the next AC release.

This is my theory. Although, I am very often wrong, and this seems like a rather simplistic answer.

Hm. That does indeed seem to be the most probable theory.

And for anyone wondering, I took a screenshot from a web-stream of the conference. I guess you could still go and watch it yourselves.

The Revelation is that Desmond is being controlled by someone else far in the future using an Animus. That's been my prediction since ACII. After Revelations, ACIII will more than likely take place in the future playing as the new protagonist who has been controlling Desmond. If that is not the case....I should be writing ACIII. :p The ending of Brotherhood only strengthened my thoughts on the subject. I'm probably completely off base though. :D
Great theory! That's the best argument for a futuristic ACIII I've heard!
I'd really like to run around in a modern capital as Desmond though. :)

I've heard this theory before and I still think it's retarded. Introducing a new character and a new story that late in the franchise would be a bad move. The only thing that could work in that theory without ruining the franchise completely is if in the end of AC3 the very final scene is Desmond's descendent coming out of the animus.

That would actually be a very cool note to end the series on, once the plot is finished. Panning out to a futuristic assassin village with students exited animi-training centers.

But it should only be an ending scene, as you said. I don't think it would fit well in the main narrative. Best leave it as an epilogue.

"the greeting, the warning, the revelatian."

Meeting Minerva, the warning about "she" (possibly Lucy or Eve), whatever's next.

I thought it a possibility too, but since Desmond is now exploring his subconscious through the Animus, its pretty clear he was the one being plugged back in.

As pretty much everyone's stated before, I think it's plotting the course of the Ezio trilogy. It's a fair guess that Ezio/Desmond/Altair will meet another Forerunner projection that will provide the aforementioned 'revelation'.

Personally I find it interesting that the past two have been female avatars; Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom; Juno, the Roman 'queen of the gods'. If this indeed a deliberate pattern, and really given Ubisoft's attention to detail in spinning their whole conspiracy mythos that is quite likely, then it should be possible to predict the next avatar that the player will meet. Parallels can be drawn between each one featured so far and the stage in the story that they appeared: Minerva, who represents wisdom and knowledge, this is when the assassins learn of the threat the planet faces. In Brotherhood, we meet Juno (The Roman equivalent of Hera). Her role is often quite hard to pin down, she is both seen as a goddess of fertility, vitality and femininity and at the same time as a warrior or having militaristic leanings. Generally speaking she is most known for this complexity and multiplicity in her personality. A parallel which we can see in Lucy, she is a proven warrior and yet is set up as a potential love interest and still holds of her femininity, also the hidden agenda that the Juno hints that she possess "the cross that blocks the path" (or something like that) would hold true with the multiplicity seen in Juno's traditional representations.

So by that logic there are really two options for AC:R. Either Vesta, goddess of the hearth and home, but also patron deity of the Vestal Virgins - oracles that were reputed to predict the future and have access to knowledge beyond mortals. This would fit two-fold; Ezio is returning to the home of the Assassin's order of Masyaf, Desmond (presumably) will also receive a revelation that will help in the fight against the Templars that we will probably see in AC:3, i.e. foreknowledge. On the other hand, it may also Diana, goddess of the hunt; Ezio is heading to Constantinople to both hunt the Templars there as well as hunt down the clues left by his ancestor Altair.

i agree. i recently went back through AC2 and got 100%, noticing that the subject 16 memories were more... poignant than we could've noticed the first time.

SPOILERS OF THE ENTIRE SERIES AHEAD!!!

turn on your subtitles and go through AC2, do all of the subject 16 memories. he starts rambling about "she sees the knife" "i raise the knife" "i'm sorry lucy"

in 2, this meant nothing, but after brotherhood's ending, we can see that subject 16 was actually reliving desmond's memories. that alone basically confirms that we're reliving desmond in a future person.

Never really thought of it that way, but how does this make any sense with the established fact that subject 16 was the test subject who immediately preceded Desmond before putting bloody clues on the walls and taking his own life...?

SPOILERS FOR ALL AC GAMES!

the only thing i can figure is if the future person who is reliving desmond had a predecessor before HIM, who relived both desmond and 16, and hacked 16 to hack the past to place the symbols. even as i'm saying it, i'm getting lost, but it can't be ignored that 16 is definitely reliving desmond, as heard in his rants in AC2. again, he says "she sees the knife" "i raise the knife" "i'm sorry lucy" or things very closely resembling these three statements. even if my proposed solution doesn't stand up, these facts can't be ignored.

(CAPTCHA: exhibited entseck) i suppose this post did exhibit a bit of entseck, but i hardly see how that's captcha's business... damn judgemental captchas....

Yo dawg, I heard you like animy (animuses?), so we put an animus in your animus so you could relive history while you relived history!

OT: The "Its all an animus simulation" seems like a fairly predictable plot twist, if they really wanted to keep up the traditon of WTF endings they could reveal the entire series to be a vision of the future the Apple of Eden gave Altair in the first game. Now that would be the unpredictable "What the hell!?" ending Ubisoft would make.
